Hi all!

Pixiesmom~ Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a great one! btW~ how far along are you that the babies are moving that much already?

I had my 7w 3d scan today and baby B has a heartbeat and grew. So we definately are having twins. HOLY CRAP! I guess I better get on the ball around here and start getting prepared!

My clothes have decided not to fit anymore. Anyone else have this problem already. Doc said with twins you grow faster but I am busting out of things in the front even though I have lost 14lbs so far this pregnancy.

Hope all are well, I am off to nap, I am beat!

BTW~ My next scan is next week, May 16th!
Jessica

Jes,
I knew it!!!! See, B was just too little. I wish the Dr would make people wait until 7 weeks so, they don't stress out. Imagine the ones like my cousin that just have 1 & are told there's no hb. What are the heartrates? Mine were 178 & 182. I am 9 weeks today & they were so wiggly, it was cute. My last pregnancy at 8 weeks it looked like a blob still & then 6 days later a baby with arms & legs. This happens at around 9 weeks. I am still thinking boys. What about you? I noticed on the gen. forum that 2 more sets of boy twins are on the way. I too am not fitting my clothes very well. I am mostly bloated & have a gut from the estrogen & progestrone. It's nice to have these hormones to blame for getting fat  Take care of those little ones. Thanks Dr Hickock

Jes, I see on the list that your due date is the 2 Dec - mine's the 26 Dec but I am nearly the same stage as you (7wks 1 day today) have you had yours altered because of the twins? If so do you know by how much? Mine is still the singleton due date - lets see what tomorrow brings. Also was there a difference between the heart beats of your twins? One of the things which concerned out sonographer was the fact that baby B had a much slower hb.
I must stop worrying, we'll know more tomorrow.

Hi girls,
Just having a bad day and hoping you all can help me snap out of it!! I am starting to get worried because everybody seems to be showing and getting big and I'm just over 10 weeks and still wearing all my regular clothes and haven't gained a pound!! Plus I feel like my symptoms are starting to go away which I know is what happens at the end of the first trimester but it's just scary becuase now not only do I not look pregnant, but I'm starting to not feel pregnant either.

And to make it worse it's been two weeks since my last scan and I'm going mad that something could be wrong in there and I would have no idea. I don't have another scan until 20 weeks which is just torture. That's over 2 months away. Why must the worrying never end!!!!

Ok, hopefully you can all convince me I'm a silly girl and the little one is just fine. I wish I could relax and enjoy this pregnancy already.

XO

Ladies,

I am not sure if this has happened to anyone and since this thread are with ladies already pregnant i thought it would be wise to ask this question here.

First my beta test was on the 30th of april and the result was 404 then on april 1st it was 790, on the 7th it was 3,620 however when the doc did the scan he could see nothing so he send me to a radiologist and he could not see anything also but he did say that he does not see any ectopic pregnancy. Is it just too early? 7th would have been 6 weeks and 4 weeks gestation. I have my next scan on the 15th.

Please does anyone know if this has happened to anyone, i really need some reassurance.

Thanks- Bali

Tams~ They changed my due daye by 3 weeks for the twins. They hope that when you carry twins you make it to 37 weeks, but most women don't. So in all reality I will probably deliver in Novemeber. The babbies heartrates were 148 & 143. They were not concerned about one being slower since that bay is a couple days behind the other one in gestation. So don't worry, everything will be fine tomorrow!

Pixiesmom~ Yes Dr. Hickok is the best, my hero at the moment. I am off the estrogen so I can't even blame that for my clothes being funny.
Yesterday I went to go get my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding in June and it did not fit. LOL When I ordered it in February I ordered it 2 sizes larger knowing that my ivf cycle was starting and I could be preggo by then. Well the damn thing is huge everywhere but my font, its snug. So now they ordered more fabric and are turning it into a maternity dress for me since who know how much bigger I'll be in 5 weeks!

BALI,
Sorry I can't help you on that. The only thing I have heard of is some women have a tilted uterus or something similar where it's hard to see due to the position. I have also heard of chemical pregnancy but, don't really know much about it. Good luck too you I hope your baby shows up next time.

pep,
I too feel like I should be bigger especially when I see people posting belly shots on pregnancy sites & they're huge. I feel like because I have had 3 kids & am pg with twins I should be bigger. With my 1st I didn't show for 6 months. It was so depressing. The better you muscle tone the longer it takes to show. I have a tiny baby bump & both babies are fine. I also have this gut that I wish would dissapear thanks to the hormones. I also haven't had any symptoms the whole pg. Your mind does play tricks on you when you can't see them & you aren't sick. I am hoping I can wait 3 weeks until my next scan. I don't know though. You have a long wait hopefully the bump will start growing fast so, you can relax. I am right there with you.

Steph, I'm sure that everything is ok but if you're concerned I think you should go and have another scan, 2 months is way too long to be so worried and it will put you mind at ease to see the heartbeat. They will defo give you another scan you may just have to pay for it but separately they're not too expensive (a small price to pay for peace of mind).

Jes thanks for the reassurance, they didn't measure our heart beats (they don't for some reason) but the second one was visibly much slower and the proportions with the getstational sac weren't right apparently, in fact she was pretty much convinced that it wouldn't continue for much longer. I was fine with this but strangely this week I've found myself willing for baby B to keep going. Anyway we'll know in a few hours.

Miss Piggy - fantatsic news! 8 wks is another good milestone! Also aparently 10 wks is effectively as safe as 12 wks so that will be a good milestone to hit.

I'm having a really rough morning today feeling very nauseas, I have my seasick bands on but they're not really helping, and I can not face eating anything, bleuch. I am feeling goodish about feeling rough but feel that just some gentle nausea would do as well!

I'll write again after the scan this afternoon

:D  :D Ten weeks and Three days :D  :D

Tam,

Best of luck this afternoon - will be thinking of you as I do my physio.
I know what you mean about bonding with the beans.
I was 7 weeks and 5 days when they did my first scan and at the time I was well peed off that they had made me wait so long, but in retrospect may be its better if they leave untill they can give you a definitive yes or no - one bean or two. It sound like you have been through hell and I don't envy you. Let us know as soon a pos what the verdict it. xxx

Pixie and all, how many of you have already had a second scan and how far gone were you. My second one is at 12 - 14 weeks so long!

Jess although I don't look that big I have had to put all my winter clothes in the loft along with 90% of my summer clothes as nothing feel comfootable around the waist.. Still good excuse for new togs!

Steph I have been feeling exactly the same as you this week. I think its the 10 week blues! So near to 12 weeks and yet still so perilously far away. In the life boat but not out of the sea yet and no land for miles!

Don't know about you but I think we are also experiencing another hormonal surge as the placenta takes over from our hormones and the babi(es) go through a growth spirt. By week eleven they will be 4cm1mm. Yet the placenta still hasn't grown large enough for our nerves to feel it though our stomach so we are just having to trust everything is OK.

It's damm hard!!!

Jes I read that 37 weeks is average for twins so we should get there and our odd are better with fraternal twins cos they are not having to share a placenta and there fore are less likely to become dehydratedthe main reason for prem labour. Only 10% of twin mothers go into labour before 34 weeks.

I a bridesmaid in June for my mum and I am the only one who hasn't bought my dress - definately leving it ttill the last min!

Mirriam Stoppard says that in the first three months we put on about 2lb -4lb 1-2kg and only 1.7 oz 48g of this is baby. But in the second trimester we will put on about 6kg or 12lb and only 1kg 2lb will be baby! and I don't know if this doubled for twins!!!!

Yikes!

Many thanks for your good wishes, baby B is still there but hasn't really developed from last week, its measurements are showing as 6 wks and looks very small compared with baby A which is almost 3 x the size. The nurse felt that it would probably peter out in the next two weeks. Denise, I think I should be put on the single list. We're ok about it, it was always likely that it wouldn't make it and we are still thrilled to have one very healthy looking bean.

Still feeling pretty queasy, finally I made it to a Pret today only to find that my craving for their BLTs had morphed into a Classic Tuna craving.

Quita, the nurse today said that the placenta is almost completely formed by 10 wks and that it is very nearly as safe as getting to 12 wks and this is why she booked us in for the next scan at 10 wks. So fingers crossed you're very nearly there.
