Ongoing 2ww "nut house" thread, welcome aboard!!!

Post by Jovigal »

I thought I would start a thread for all of us 2ww gals/guys that could be ongoing...... as you start your 2ww come aboard and share your worries, thoughts, symptoms, POAS experience, do's/don'ts. Also, you're welcome to give daily updates on your symptoms. This thread could be a great resource for anyone starting the S L O W 2 week experience or anyone else just curious about it. Come share your experience and help your 2ww go by faster!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About me, I just started my 2nd IVF cycle and am currently in my 2ww. I test May 21st (10dp3dt). I had 1-7cell and 1-4cell trasferred yesterday. Today, I am just 1dp3dt. So far, I'm only sore and bloated from the transfer. When I cough, I feel like my uterus is going to explode! Last time I started having implantation pains about 3dpt. So, I'm hoping to start feeling those soon. I'm lounging around, mostly in best for the first 48 hrs. I'm not lifting anything over 5 lbs either.

So, anyone out there want to join me and help get this thread going??? :D

Hi Jovigal
I am also on the dreaded 2WW, although mine is actually shorter than that as I had my transfer on Saturday 5 May and test on Tuesday 15 May so it's actually 10 days but feels like an eternity.
I am also on my second attempt and this time we have actually gone for donor egg treatment as I have now reached the dreaded 40 and we were advised to do so after our first attempt only produced 1 embie. We had 2 embies tfrd this time. I have been having all sorts of pains and gripes and am trying so hard to keep a PMA but today has been a tough one - I blame all the pills - bloomin homones!
Trying to keep busy but rest as well,

Thanks Nicki!! You'll be on your 2ww before you know it...waiting to see all your posts!

Ali - welcome! Good luck with your test coming up. My 2ww is actually 10 days also from transfer. I suppose officially, 2ww means 2 weeks from collection? Anyway, I know what you mean, it is an eternity!!! I hope it works for you this time. My is my last IVF try so I'm praying this time is it.

Hi Everyone! Great thread! I am testing on 5/17 so I am a little more than half way there and am going nuts too. We elected to transfer 6 embies which is optimal for women my age. 5 were 8 celled compacting and one was 8 celled non-compacting. I am really hoping that one sticks. I think that this will be the last try with my own eggs. My doctor and all the nurses were very pleased with the number and quality of my eggs and said that really we could not have done better. Sooooo if it doesn't work this time there is no point in doing it again without a donor. We just found out today that of the four remaining, none made it to blast so there is nothing to freeze.

As for symptoms - they seem to be all over the place. I have had cramps on and off, bloating, backache, and fatigue. No real nausia in reaction to the estrace or PIO which I did have in all the other cycles.

It looks like a lot of us will be testing this week. I am praying for BFPs for all!

karia - Try to remain positive. I have been told that our embies do better in us than in a dish and I have heard of pregnancies from 2 celled embies transfered on day 3. Hang in and keep us posted.

karia - I agree with geckogirl, the embies do much better in mommy than a cold old, hard dish. In us, they have a nice cushy place to relax and grow... :)

Barbs, thanks for your post. I have felt very negative today because of "not feeling anything". Last time, I had cramps like I was pulling a muscle in my groin, not doing that so far. Thanks for the PMA. Stop by any time you want, we need ya!!!:)

geckogirl, so you test in 3 more days, wow. have you given in and POAS yet? Don't feel bad if you do, we all get the temptation and fall for it. I probably will try a hpt this coming weekend.

Ali - so you test tomorrow???? GOOD LUCK, hope you have a BIG BFP!!!!!

Question, sorry if TMI, but had a question, did any of you ever get like a yeast infection? I'm not sure if that's what I have but I am very irritated. Clinic said I could use cream but I'm afraid to. Nurse said that increasing estrogen can cause an increase in discharge. So, the drugs are causing the increase in estrogen?
