Hi- All your symptoms sound pretty normal. This is my second IVF cycle and had cramping for the first three days after transfer. I was bloated and sore too. I am now 5dp3dt and haven't had any symptoms for the last two days. Don't know what that means but I do know that all the meds that you are taking after transfer can have side effects that mimic pregnancy symptoms. Cruel huh? Hang in there! It sounds like you are doing fine.

Nearly all of the symptoms reported shortly after transfer are due to progesterone supplements.

The only symptom of early pregnancy that can precede the pregnancy test is, in rare cases, worsening OHSS. You can get OHSS from the hCG trigger shot, but if it suddenly worsens about 10 days after retrieval, then it's probably caused by hCG from a pregnancy.

Mine stopped for almost two full days too. Then last night I began having pain - some cramping but mostly ovary pain. I think it is normal for pains to come and go. I have heard women say they had cramps and were pregnant and had cramps and didn't. Remember, your body has gone through a lot in the last few weeks and between retrieval and transfer your uterus, ovaries, and belly in general have been continually manipulated. Hang in there!

Doris - It sure is a rollercoaster ride, isn't it! I test on 5/17 and the time is dragging on and on. Some moments I am sure it worked and then the next I am discouraged again. Guess the hormones don't really help with the doubts! Hope you are doing well!

Speaking of pregnany symptoms, I've been absolutely EXHAUSTED the past two days (had my ET on Friday)... napping during the day and even asleep by 9pm (very unusual for me as I thrive on 6 hours of sleep a night). I know this is due to the progesterone injections, but I can't help thinking it might be due to something else............

I spent most of last week sleeping nearly 12 hours a night! I have my beta test on Monday and am so nervous. I have gotten the BFN call three times now. I need it to be BFP this time. Even though I am only 27, the roller coaster of emotions is starting to take it's toll.
I have to see my family today for mothers day. I am not terribly excited since my younger bro and his wife are expecting thier first child (married for 5 months!). She is about half way through and they live out of town so I havent seen the bump yet. I am so sad that I cant be excited for them. I mean I am happy for them but I mourn that it has taken me so long. Then I wonder when will my time come. The only thing keeping me going is the thought that my time is now and I will get my positive beta tomorrow.
Wishing all mommies, pregnant or TTC a happy mothers day. Our strong desire to be mom's deserves the praise for everything we are going through!

Rikirees,

Good luck on your beta tomorrow! Sending you lots of baby dust. I understand the feeling of being around others who are preggers; it's hard to be happy for me b/c you want it so badly for yourself. As I tell others, their pregnancy is a reminder of something that I cannot have. My beta isn't until the 25th of May (seems like forever) and in that span of time I have 3 baby showers to attend (though I'm not sure if i'm going at this point).

Were you this exhausted with your last BPNs?

StephanieD:
I don't recal being this tired with my previous BFN's, although my last attempt was over 6 months ago. This time is the most positive I have felt out of all 4 attempts. Still, I dont want to get my hopes up too high. My Dr. was optimistic with my lining and frosties grade being high, but my instinct is always to protect myself. I guess I will know soon enough.

Rikirees - Good luck with your beta tomorrow! I am praying hard for a BFP! I know how it is to see people who are pregnant and not to be able to feel happy for them. It is totally ok. I always get the feeling that they are feeling sorry for me and that is almost worse than me feeling jealous.... Anyway, try to hang in there and let us know how the beta went.
