This is new for me .

Post by wishing&hoping »

Hello all. I am new to this and new to IVF. It all started six months ago i went to a fertility dr to get checked out as I had Graves disease. I had radioactive iodine in Oct,05 ,which ablated the thyroid completely and I no longer have a thyroid. i am on synthroid .125mg a day. So...... as you all know they check your husband as well. All my tests came back normal but my husbands spern analysis came back poorly, as did the second one . So here I am. These are the meds I have been on aygestin for two days but was taken off as my heart was racing. I also have Mitral valve prolapse so I am sensitive. then I started Lupron right away(headaches are a killer) . I took 10 cc of it and on the 15th day my estrodiol test was a 40. I am now on 1cc of liquid,2 boxes of Gonal rff at 75iu each & one repronexat 75 . I go in monday for a ultra soumd again. So far my overies look good with no cysts. My husband is a doctor (radiologst) so i make him come and look at songram. I am nervous as my stomach is sore from all the shots. i am 35 and worried about overstimulation. Thanks,
Kimberly :D

If you are concerned about hyperstimulation, and your hubby is an MD, you might have him look at this:

I keep up with this topic, and the use of a GnRH agonist instead of hCG seems to eliminate the risk of OHSS (or at least, reduces it drastically). We tried it at our clinic and no OHSS, even in extreme responders.

There's a lot more to this, and some controversy about pregnancy rates. I can give more info if you want.
