I am having two little girls!

Post by beauty19 »

The results came back from my CVS test and I am thrilled to say that we are having two, healthy baby girls. My step daughter, who is 8, is ecstatic and I am now so excited that I can actually start planning their nursery. I am now 15 weeks and looking forward to the end of the school year. I am a middle school teacher and I am finished the third week in June. I spend my summers as as Art Director at a camp where luckily, I have modified my schedule and I will only be working a few hours each day. My OB already informed me that at 30 weeks, end of August, I am on strict bed rest until the birth of my girls. Was anyone else told this also? Now I feel the stress of having everything done by August. Yikes!

Hugs and good wishes...Deb :D :D

2 girls? You don't hear that very often with ivf. You must be so excited I am having twins too & haven't heard when I will be put on bedrest. At least you can enjoy the summer & prepare for the little pinkies. :D

Deb~ Congrats on two little girls! You are going to have a blast dressing them and just watching the bond between sisiters grow. That is such sweet news. CONGRATS!!!

Why did your OB say he wanted you on bed rest for sure? I have always assumed I'd be w/o unless I needed it for some reason eventually. I do know quite a few people w/ twins that never had bed rest. If it's has to be it has to be. Hope all is well. Take care and give your DH a big hug!

Kimberly - I am only 5 feet and my doctor said that with my height, he wants me off my feet at 30 weeks with the hopes of holding them for 8 more weeks. I am not the kind of person who can sit still - this should be interesting. When are your babies due?

Awwwwww Wooooo Hoooooo!

Two little girls - wow! Thats wonderful :D I bet u cant wait.

Tell me Pixie, why is that u dont hear of two little girls that often with IVF? I heard on another thread that most twins with IVF are boys, but why not so many girls with IVF?

If thats the case Debz, then ur extra special :) It makes it all more worth the while doesnt it :)

Double the trouble = Double the love = Double the hugs and Double the kisses = Your a VERY lucky lady, and i wish u all the very best :) xxxx

welshgirl,
It's because the boy embryos look the best when it comes time to put them back. they are faster growing so, if you have good embryos & a good amount of embryos then they are more likely to choose them instead of the little girls.

Ahhhhhhhhhh right.

I been waiting for ur reply lol. Thanks for clearing that up for me. its interesting dont u think, that boys develop more quickly than girls, but yet once they are born, the girls tend to develop more quickly than boys!

Beauty19~ You are a tiny mommy! I'm only 5'2" but my OB is just playing it by ear although he has already warned that they have nowhere to go so they will probably want to make their debut early with me as well. I know I have to quit work by week 30 but nothing else yet. Our babies are due Oct 11th. Seems a ways away. Too long but I hope it all goes well for us all. Good luck and take care. :D
