Gekogirl:
I am going NUTS too! I test on Monday. I had cramps the first few days after transfer and now nothing. I am so nervous that I am supposed to be feeling something and since I am not, I am getting negative.
AHHH, make it be Monday already!

Rikirees - It's good to know I'm not alone - lol! I bet you are anxious with testing just around the corner. I am not testing until next Thursday. I wish you lots of baby dust! Keep us posted.

Hello,

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. It helps a lot to know that others care.

On a more happier note, I had my third beta today and my numbers were 4424. :D I'm so excited. I have my ultrasound next Wednesday, so I can't wait to see how many and that everything is ok. I am definitely drinking a lot of water and trying to get a lot of rest.

I'm wishing positives for everyone.

mdterry - Congrats on your beta numbers! It sure sounds like everything is going well. I bet you can't wait to see your little one on u/s!!

rikirees - RESIST THE URGE!!!! Those HPTs are evil things! They can be sooo wrong and why upset yourself? You test on Monday, right? Hang in there......I am praying for a strong beta number for you.

My cramping came back after being pretty much gone all of yesterday and most of today. I know it is probably a reaction to the progesterone but it makes me so nervous! Trying to keep a PMA...

Baby dust to all!

rikirees: I'm testing on Monday 14th too. I have taken 3 Hpts -- all BFNs (I'm 7dp4dt). It has made me so upset. Several on this message board have assured me that I may be testing too early and that a + is still a possibility. I keep crossing my fingers! Good luck to you.

Hi Geckogirl: Yup Monday is the big day. I wasnt feeling well on Friday. My cramps came back on Friday after being gone most of the week and I was really tired and dizzy. Some cramps felt like they were from the tubes and then some feel like they are from the ut. I going to resist the urge for HPT but I am still so nervous. Friday was my first negative day but I trying to push those negative feelings out and rest a lot this weekend.
Babyb: Glad to know someone else is testing on the same day as me. I hope we both get high beta's. Good luck!

rikirees: Another hard morning for me as I got another BFN. Been crying all morning. Just read a posting from a woman who said she tested BFN 14 days post 5 day transfer (to clarify, 9 days after transfer, 14 days after retrieval) and had betas of 124 and is pg with a healthy boy. This news is helping me. I hope to have a similar story. I too had cramps all day yesterday (FRI) -- felt like PMS. But they have gone away today. I did not cramp any other time after the transfer. Keeping fingers crossed for both of us. Best of luck! :)

Babyb and rikirees - GOOD LUCK ON MONDAY! I am praying hard that you get your deserved BFPs! Babyb - hang in there. The HPTs are not all that accurate. The blood test is the true test. Wishing you all the best.

Thus far I have resisted the urge for HPT. I guess the good part was I didnt have any at home so I would have to go buy some. I read all the stories and decided against it. I actually had a dream last night that I had my first US, which I hope is a good sign. I am hoping and praying that I get good news on Monday.
Babyb: With everything we have read, those HPT reults are not written in stone. We are on so many hormones that those tests can not possibly process it all. I am keeping my fingers cross for you on Monday. I want us both to get positive results!
Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there. I hope to be in your club soon!

Rikirees: Trying to keep my chin up, but also trying to accept the most likely outcome. I feel like AF is coming. I'm sending baby dust your way. Dreams are often very telling -- I have a very good feeling about your Beta tomorrow! Have a beautiful day.

It just takes a much higher concentration of hCG to get a positive on the HPT. The blood test can pick up hCG less than 1 IU/l. The HPTs are not reliable until it's up around 1,000 or so, despite optimistic claims on the packaging. Most patients don't hit 1,000 until after the clinic has already given them their results.

A pregnant woman will have her hCG rise rapidly to 100,000-200,000 about a month after transfer. The HPTs work very well by then.

Ghost: Don't the HPTs predict at 25 (some at 50)? The blood is more sensitive, but anything less than 50 is usually a pretty bad sign, I thought. That being said, maybe I'll have luck like Skidoo or Kholten. All I can do is pray for baby dust. Hopefully you can all tell me "I told you so" tomorrow. This is one time I'd LOVE to hear this. Thanks Ghost.

I've never heard of one actually detecting when blood levels were at 50. I wonder if they pick up 50 in the urine, but maybe blood concentrations are much higher than in urine?

In any case, if the urine tests were reliable at this point, then all clinics would be using them. They are inexpensive, after all.

I hope you get your BFP tomorrow. I'd say there's still a good chance.
