Too Much Medication

Post by On Angles Wings »

My husband and I will start our 2nd IVF cycle in June with the actual IVF in July. Here's what I was on with the first cycle:
Cycle day 3 Doxycycline
Cycle day 3 begin Follistim (225 units)
Evening Repronex (3 powdered vials)
Baby Aspirin Daily (81 Mg)
Cycle day 8 Ganirelix
Day 12 HCG
Day 13 Retrieval
They retrieved 17 eggs of which, 11 fertilized normally. They did assisted hatching because my embryos were fragmented. They transferred 4 embryos of which, one was a "2," one was a "3" and the other 2 "4's." They watched the remaining 7 in the lab and they got to the blastist (sp ?) stage which they told me was a good sign but none were "good enough" to freeze. I was on progesterone injections until my AF.
SO HERE'S THE QUESTION....my new Dr. said that we're going to lower my doses because he thinks that may help with the embryo quality. Does that sound right? I'm also going to be on lupron (sp ?). Other than the embryo quality, they can't seem to find anything wrong with me or my husband. I'm 29 and he's 33, both in good health!
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm really anxious and nervous about our next cycle. We had a bad experience with our first Dr. so we moved to another one at the Cleveland Clinic who came highly recommended. I just need some reassurance.

I agree with the reduction, but for different reasons than your doctor stated.
