I just started to spot this morning after going to the bathroom. It was on the tissue as was light pink and mixed in with normal discharge (sorry TMI). I called the nurse and she said that there is nothing they can do at this time. So she just told me to take it easy and drink fluids. She also mentioned that if I bled to the point where I was soaking my pad, then to call and come in.
Has anyone else started to spot during early pregnancy. What is it caused by (besides m/c) and how do you stop it.
I have this really bad headache that won't go away, so I wonder if the m/c curse is starting to take it's course.
Please help.
Are you still spotting? It really is generally ok from what I read. I wish the docs could take you. Have you had your first u/s yet? Did you get the results from the stool sample - I wonder if the two are related. Definitely rest and I guess drink lots of water - although I don't get how the latter is helpful and they always say to do it whenver anything is in question.
I didn't get my results from my stool sample yet. I actually have to wait 72 hours to get those back.
I too read that it's normal to spot but I think I would feel a lot better if I can be seen. I have an u/s appt on Wednesday so 1 more day to go. I am hoping for the best.
I have been drinking a ton of water and skipping out on a lot of walking trips. My boss wants to take us all on a hike tomorrow and I had to decline. I just don't want to take any risks that aren't necessary. If you know what I mean.
Thank for your thoughts. I think it's all up to the higher beings now. Though I'm not religious, the only thing that really helps me cope is to pray. How weird is that?
I know it won't help in terms of worry, but I spotted with both my pregnancies - the first until about 14 weeks - red, brown, clots, cramps - the lot. The second time I spotted until about week 16... In both cases I went on to have healthy babies...
Just take it easy and be reassured that this happens to so many - I know it's no consolation though... Hey, I was told that spotting is common with twins too
Take care

Snemo - I am 14 weeks (with twins) and started spotting between 6-7 weeks. It came and went and still is to this day, sometimes quite heavy. I've had about 7 ultrasounds and everything (everyone) has looked fine since then. I know it's so worrisome and if you are m/c there is nothing you can do, but I've learned that bleeding/cramping doesn't always mean m/c. I had a m/c three years ago so every time I bleed I worry, and things are still moving along. Hang in there - hopefully you'll be fine.

I miscarried at 5 weeks. I hope to attempt another IVF cycle with my own eggs or a donors. I felt like something was wrong a week or two before. But it was just too early to tell. still going through grieving and coping. I hope to be pregnant one day. Thanks for your thoughts.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so sad and sucks, and the only way I got through it was to feel blessed that my body did what it was supposed to and was able to know that something was not right with the baby. I know that doesn't make it any easier right now, but you will feel better soon.
Thinking of you-

snemo- sorry to hear of your m/c.
I am about 5 weeks and I had my first u/s today after a night of what I consider heavy bleading. It was bright red and kinda stopped this am. Although I am still spotting dark blood now. The Dr' said everything looks fine. In fact he saw THREE sacks. He said bleeding is very normal and no cause for concern, but I can't help but worry! I took today and Wed off of work to stay off my feet. I hope it stops soon. It is making me very nervous.
