Well, hello Sisters!

I am here, I am here; your soon to be divorced Sister with a new lease on life who loves you and misses you.

How is everyone?

Greetings to the new blood, welcome to the folder of all folders (it has to be good if someone getting a divorce after going through IVF and throwing nine embies in the deep freeze for “later” would rather hang out here than elsewhere!)

I am well and D (soon to be ex) H is well. We have separated, as friends, and are moving ahead with divorce. So weird, but so right. I am happy. (I realized after my last post that “gay divorcee” could have a couple different meanings. In this context, gay =happy!) I feel as though I have been given a personal renaissance, or as my sister says, a mulligan, or, as my best friend says, “a do-over.” Whatever I call it, I am lucky. And single!

I am so glad to get caught up on all of the pregnancies. You are all doing so beautifully, I am so happy and proud of you. Your highness, little Noggin will be a stunner, I am sure of it.

Will write more soon.

Xoxoxo

Hey Ladies!

The fun is over, they took some biopsies - I'll tell you more later.

But I had to put off the Clomid Challenge until next cycle... so I hope those 19 follies stick around

Coco - Welcome Back!!!

Well, I am going to take a nap!

Kisses to ya'll!

Mel

Hey guys.

Mel--Glad to hear you made it through the day! I'm anxious to hear the results. Sorry that the clomid is put off--but who knows, 19 is a pretty impressive number on it's own!

Coco--Great to hear from you. Glad the divorce is going well. Keep in touch!

My appointment today went great. It was really sad, though, because it will probably be my last ultra sound! Can you believe it, they expect me to go another 20 weeks without seeing her again? Fee, you have to let me know if you come up with a "give me a scan" excuse! Anyway--she looked great...pretty definitely a girl (good, since I've already bought some clothes!) and she grew just like she was supposed to. She has a big tummy (like me!) and long legs (not like me, unfortunately!)

Now my problem is weight---I gained 8 pounds this month! 8~! I have to curb that right now---I'm going to be a giant blimpo if I keep it up, Whoever said that being pregnant meant you could eat whatever you want is full of pooey!

Well, I'm off to eat a root beer float. (I'll start watching the diet tomorrow!)

Hellloooo

I'm incredibly bored today. Have work to do, just don't wanna do it!

Yay Coco, glad to have you back and to hear that you are enjoying your renaissance. Does this mean that you are not an underground potato anymore???? Enjoy being single while it lasts! It can be damned good fun.

Mego, excellent news on little sweetpea, so glad that she is growing well but what the hell??? No more scans? Is that normal? Why would they do that to you??? I see that you have my diet mantra down - eat now diet tomorrow - except tomorrow never comes.....My delightful DH (who has been bearing the brunt of my now volatile temper) has recently commented apon my voracious eating habits of late. I sulked for a good while after that and then called him "chubb chubb" to get back at him. I reckon I've put on about 11 pounds so far which according to everything I read is too much. Am paranoid about getting gestational diabetes because of my PCOS...but I can't seem to stop eating...how does one make a root beer float. Sounds yummy.

Mel glad to hear the bum fun is finally over. When do we get our results??? Am sorry about the Clomid challenge being put off, delay can be so frustrating but it sounds like you have heaps of other stuff to distract you...

Jenn, thanks for your suggestions re a scan. I think I will adopt your general methods. I have never been allowed into the office by myself but I'm thinking that I will just stride in there ahead of the Dr and instead of sitting in the chair will just make a beeline to the stirrup bed, hoik myself on it and lie there expectantly. Never thought I would be sprinting towards the stirrup bed but I guess desperate times call for it...

Nickster I know what you mean about ending the weekend without cleaning the house. I really hate cleaning but i feel so good when the house looks half decent. It p*sses me off though that at least one of my weekend days is taken up with chores. I always feel so downtrodden and resentful when I'm doing chores. Plus I also have a hairy dog who spreads hair everywhere....poor old thing...

Hi to all the other sisters....

Fee

hi fee - hope you're not too bored - I'm just about finishing off work now - gloat gloat! As a fellow PCO girl I was wondering if you know the answer to this. Can you still have AF on a monthly cycle when you didn't ovulate? If AF arrives, does it mean you definitely ovulated? I am SOOO confused - why doesn' t my body co-operate? (Stoopid hormones out of whack!)

Glad to hear Nogelle/Noggin is growing well and you are starting to need fat clothes!

Off home now - it's dark and damp outside. 1 more day at work then a w/e away to celebrate our anniversary - yay!

ooo Angie you lucky thing, a long weekend. Enjoy! As far as your AF question goes, I'm not 100% sure. I think in order to have AF we should ovulate. And I think that AF means that we did ovulate (although that wouldn't explain how AF arrives when on the BCP now would it???) I only found out that I had PCO when AF became increasingly irregular and then stopped altogether....When I was TTC before it became apparent that IVF was needed I was always using those home ovulation testing kits and always got a negative...

Bottom line is my PCO is so entrenched now that even when I went on Clomid nothing happened. My female hormones do nothing, I'm almost a bloke I reckon. I remember calling the Dr after taking my five days of Clomid and they asked me if I had started taking them yet...needless to say I felt like a freak.

Quite frankly I knew very little about cycles and reproduction until this whole IF debacle. Even with all my reading I'm still not sure on your question (which appears to be quite basic human biology)....maybe one of our Dr or Nurse sisters could help????

Ang--I'm no help, either. Geez, how dumb..you'd think that would be something I should know. My guess would be that you did ovulate. But what do I know?

Fee--Root Beer is a soda pop. It's dark like coke, but has a lot more foam and no caffeine. I wish I could describe the taste...Anyway, to make it a float you simply add vanilla ice cream. Delicious! And we were sorta good and had diet root beer and 1/2 calorie ice cream.

Yeah, no more scans. I suppose it's a good thing because it means both I and baby are healthy. So, in an ironic twist in order to have another scan it means something has to go wrong. I guess I shouldn't hope for that! It's so sad though. I think baby knows I'm sad, though, because for the last 24 hours she has really been kicking me. So at least I have that! I felt bad, though, because the ultra sound doctor felt her kick during the exam yesterday and my dh hasn't felt it yet. He looked sad.

anyway, enough about that.

What's new with everyone else? Who's cycling right now?? I need updates!

Mel........as I told you in the PM, I am thinking about you!!!. Hope everything is ok. Keep us posted....

Meg......I am so happy that Sweetpea is doing great!!!, but no more scans????????????? why???????????????, we need to come up with a plan to get more ultrasounds ASAP........maybe you can tell them you were bitten by some kind of animal and you want to make sure she is ok? (and then have DH bite you in the arm or something  )....just an idea.....

Fee....so your scan is next week or I'm crazy? (well I am crazy, there's no doubt about that, but anyway..)

Coco.....good to hear from you again, I am happy that you are enjoying your new life and that you are able to be friends with D(soon to be ex)H.

A mini rant here........for you Meg........OK, I got a call from my RE's office yesterday. They said that my labs and physical exam expire now in May (apparently they are good only for one year), so they want me to have new labs and another physical done. Here's the thing, my insurance doesn't cover my RE, so I asked whether I could have the physical done at my regular OB's office and they said no, that it has to be done by my RE. So then I said, what would he need a new physical for if I have been going all year round to see him, I have had more scans done in this year that anybody will have done in all their lives, so what more will he see in a physical that he didn't see in the ultrasounds (even more, he did a saline ultrasound a month ago where he sees everything, like an HSG). So she says "it's protocol and it has to be done", and of course it's probably going to cost me another $300-400 which I hate, because I still think it's totally unecessary...........well enough with my rant........

See you guys later........

Vicky- that does suck!!! You are right, your RE has seen enough of you in the last year. I would think a physical exam wouldn't tell him anything he didn't already know!

Meg- I'm cycling, I go for another scan tomorrow. I should have ER Monday hopefully if not sooner. I am responding much better. Last time only 3 eggs at ER were mature. This time I have at least 6 that they think will be mature. I am happy that this time is going differently! sorry you don't get another scan! That seems like a long time! Especially after all the scans we are used to getting!!

Take care!
Jenn

Vicky--Good rant! That totally blows. Talk about beauracratic red tape! They are totally pulling you around on that one. I'm very sorry and if I was closer, I'd be happy to go to your re's office and punch someone. I'm not very strong, so it wouldn't hurt anyone too badly, but the point would be made!

Jenn--How exciting that you're almost there! And I'm glad that you're responding better---Keep us updated!

Okay so now that I am not so doped up on medication and on the side of fuzzy - let me give you and update (sorry for the re-run Vicky)

I had the scope'age yesterday and it was fine - they were all very professional and super nice, I don't remember the procedure, except I sort of remember waking up inbetween the throat and the rear end... but I didn't feel a thing! So that is good - they took some pictures and sent them home with me - so I can show off my goods! They did find some darkening of my esophagus and black spots on my colon, they are sending those to the labs for bibinopsies (if you didn't watch my Big Fat Greek Wedding... you missed the reference) but they are sending them to the lab for biopsies and I'll know more in 2 weeks. The Doctor mentioned pre-cancer, but not cancer! Hooray!!! but man alive that prep sucks!

For the Clomid Challenge. I am officially a Clomid Challenge Drop Out, I can't make it to the Dr.'s office on Saturday for the Dildocam appointment, because I am teaching a class - so I have to put it off for one month. I am considering moving it a couple months, but that would be selfish of me... because of ireland.. but maybe not :)

Meg- I know you are too shy to ask but my sister was too and she told her Dr. that she was having some pressure - and they scanned her at least 2 more times... not pain, nothing wrong just some pressure pushing downward... and they did her... so if you wnated to that might help :) I am sorry they aren't scanning you :(

Vicky- I am so mad at your RE's office! That totally stinks! They shouldn't do that to you! Seriously! Can't you tell them that your insurance doesn't cover that, and if you did it at your regular Doctor... GOSH, ERRRRR! That makes me so mad!!! So uh, the big question is, are you going to be able to post while you are in Argentina?? I know the time difference isn't so bad, it's an hour right... so are ya? OH and I am coming down Memorial Day weekend :( SO we are going to miss each other - which stinks! But I'll be back at the end of August, so we'll have to catch up then - okay? Okay!

Nick- Don't worry about the emails, it's the thought that counts 8) Sounds like you had a nice weekend though!

Fee- If you have never had a Root Beer Float, we need to get you one Stat!!! They are yummy, yummy, yummy, in my tummy tummy tummy!!! Not at all like Ginger Beer.... it's more like Sassaphrass with ice cream - does that make sense? Oh and Fat clothes, is a great thing!!! (I think so anyway!)

Coco- Glad to hear you are alive and above ground! How is the divorse going? How are you doing?

Ange- did you get your AF? Because if you did that sucks! I know that you were hoping your Anniversary Weekend would be AF free! Did you figure out if you are or arent' ovulating? I wish I knew!

Jenn- I am so excited for you! Does it feel like you are moving fast? Good luck tomorrow!!! Yayyyy!!!! Hooray for the ER!!! I am so excited!!! Grow eggies, grow!!!

I know I missed some of you, and I am sorry! I have to go and take a nap now!

Kisses to ya'll!

Me :)

Hi Mel - sorry I have been a bad sista and I am not all up to date with what tests you are having - but wishing all the best with results so you can move to the next step.

Thanks for your message Fee. I'm also someone who did clomid with a big fat zero response. And as for the ovulation kits - complete waste of time and money. I soon realised there was no point as I may as well have randomly picked a number from 1 and 30 to decide when to use them!

Hi Vicky too - sorry you have to have more tests. Isn't it strange how blood tests and dildo cam appointments become part of every day life for us. The first dildo cam appointmnet I had, I felt horrible and in shock for hours but now - well we are all pros.

Bye for now all - am looking forward to our anniversary trip. staying in a lovely hotel down the coast - it will be windy and wet but don't mind as we've had a non-stop summer this year for nearly 8 mths so it will be nice to rug up for walks and sit by the fire with a red wine. And no sign of AF to annoy me either.

Back next week. Have fun til then. :D

Thanks Mel- now I am totally singing the Grease song "Beauty School Dropout" but sub in "Clomid Challenge Dropout" Yep... and it doesn't flow as good as the real words, but that doesn't stop me. I'm glad you are doing ok. Hope all your results come back ok.

Angie- red wine by the fire sounds delightful! When should I be there?

I'm in the stirrups tomorrow morning for scan and bloodwork. I'm so excited let me tell you! I drank lots of water today in anticipation. My veins can't take much more. Last blood draw my vein rolled and she had to dig around and pin it down. I think it was trying to get away and frankly I don't blame it!

Good night sisters.
Jenn
