Hi Girls,

I am getting myself into a right state at the moment! I am 9 weeks pregnant today but since Wednesday evening I have had these strange twinges either down the side of my tummy or up my bottom or in my private parts - it's not painful just like a pulse of a twinge - does that sound mad!!! Really, Really scared something is dreadfully wrong. I had my scan 2 weeks ago and it showed one heartbeat. The only symptoms I have had of pregnancy are tiredness and my nipples are bigger than they normally are (which is saying something because I was at the front of the queue when God gave out nipples!!) I have not had any sickness which my midwife told me last week to thank my lucky stars.

I am going to ring my midwife this morning and hopefully she will reassure me that this is perfectly normal but am scared she is going to tell me something must be wrong - help, has anyone else had this????

Tracey D
Hi Tracey

I am worried again too but for the opposite reason. I'm 10 weeks today and up until now, have had the odd pulsing, sometimes shooting, sometimes stabbing twinges, not all the time, just now and again. My boobs have been really quite sore (with larger nipples too)and have been feeling queasy at some point almost every day. Now, all of a sudden, the last few days I feel pretty much back to normal, even boobs don't really hurt any more (just a bit if I really poke them). I'm now worried that nothing is happening is inside and the hearbeat has stopped or something.

If anyone can help me too, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry Tracey, haven't really said anything to help you, except that I was getting those types up pains (not up the bum though!!! hahaha)

Yours worryingly

Sarah x
Hi Sarah lovey,

Bloody hell what are the pair of us like - we could worry for England!! I saw from the General forum that you are now off on Xmas hols - lucky thing I don't finish until lunch-time on Christmas Eve. I haven't gone in this morning because I felt depressed and very tired. I am going to work this afternoon- worse luck.

All I think about is losing the baby - it just feels that I had so many dissasters with trying to get pregnant for 5 years with so many sad endings to different treatments that I feel I am just waiting for this to go wrong.

I did speak to a midwife this morning and she said it was normal to get these twinges and only worry if I am in actual pain or if I bleed. So am now going to the loo every 10 seconds to check my knickers.

I have felt the same as you because quite frankly apart from feeling knackered and having sore boobs earlier on I don't have nay other symptoms - no sickness whatsoever! So I'm worried that the baby is alright.

You have put my mind at rest though about the twinges, just praying they don't get painful.

Lots of love to you and hopefully we'll chat agin before Christmas.

Tracey D
Me Again!!!

You prompted me to phone my midwife too - was talking to dh on the phone earlier and he to ring her too as I'd only be worrying my head off, so I did.

She basically said that she wasn't worried for all the symptoms to have gone but said that they'd probably be back on and off for another couple of weeks yet. She also said, I should only really be worried if I'm in alot of pain or start to bleed and should contact her straight away in that case. Otherwise, don't worry and relax.

I feel much better after having spoken to her - bet you do too!!

Being preggers is making me bonkers - I posted that message yesterday to say last day as I thought it was Friday!!!!! I'm going mad and my memory is something else. DH thinks it's really funny.

Anyway, hopefully, we'll both be able to relax a bit now over Christmas.

When's your next scan?? I've got one booked for 3rd January, thank god that's only two weeks away. I'll be 12 weeks then!!!

Happy Christmas

Love Sarah x
Hiya to you both. I had the same twinges and pains etc and all was well - its everything starting to stretch and relax (the progesterone kicking in) In fact it was one of my earliest symptoms, then because all my ligaments basically turned to jelly, I got horrendous lower backache. I've had these sorts of twinges all the way through (28wks now) but they come and go in intensity. Don't worry about not feeling sick - I didn't really, so like the midwife says - lucky you, but it doesn't feel like that when you've waited for so long for this to happen and all you want is every thing under the sun to make it feel real. love to you all. Wendy, Chris and 'baby Ben the bump' XXXX
