wannabeone- It was my experience in the past and this time when they did the first scans - they don't use a baby doppler to actually hear the heartbeat. We just saw it on the screen. When I had my first OB appt at 10 wks they used the doppler and we heard the heartbeat for the first time.

Mattie - I will have my second scan on May 30th and I feel that is forever to see our little beanie and that wonderful heartbeat again. Can't wait to hear the results of your scan! Wishing you the best!

Christine-My u/s is scheduled for Sunday..I will be 5w6d at that time..I am hoping we will be able to see a hb at that time..

Mattie/Lisa-Congrats on twins! I am hoping for the same.

I wish I wasn't so anxious...I also have no symptoms so that obviously doesn't help things.

i convinced my doctor to let me come in for an u/s today instead of next tuesday and everything looks great. measuring 7.0 and i'm 7.2 but she said that's margin of error on almost every scan and the hb is 155. so i guess we should relax a little about NO symptoms. she said i can come in every week for peace of mind - any thoughts on if the vaginal u/s can be dangerous?

I have my first us on Tuesday and I am super anxious. I could not concentrate at work at all today. Up until now I have only had blood test to confirm my BFP and I just wanna see something visual! I hope I can convince my Dr to let me come in on a weekly basis after that. I had my transfer on May 4. Anyone know how how to calcualte how far along I am? Just though I would try to figure it out before I go on Tuesday.
Wannabe- i was curious about the same thing re: vaginal u/s. Can you give me tips on convincing my dr to let me come every week
I am still having a little bit of cramping but besides that no symptoms. I cant wait to see something on the screen!

rikirees, congratulations! i hope you see the heartbeat too - i think you will. let's see - i think that you calculate how far along by factoring two weeks before your RETRIEVAL. oh shoot - you don't do a retrieval with FET, so I would think from the day of the defrost ?

Tips - I would just ask. One doc. in the rotation didn't seem like he would go for it, but my doc. is really special and unique. Why don't you say - for peace of mind for me is there a way that I could come more frequently. There is no way that the OB's are going to let this fly, but for now - it's shouldn't be any skin off their back - it's a 5 minute, $$ task for them.

I am going to relax, but my HB was a little on the high side I decided, so I hope it doesn't continue going up at this rate.

rikerees - My RE caculated my Estimated Due Date from two weeks prior to the date of conception (egg retrieval day). If we went through pregnancy naturally it would be from our last AF. When I had my first scan - my little beanie measured for the right time frame as well. OH oh! You did FET? Not sure of that one honey - sorry.

Hi Ladies,

This waiting is driving me crazy and I have a long wait ahead of me (May 30) for my u/s I am having more and more nausea which is no fun. Nothing has actually come up but just the feeling is pretty bad.

Smurfette, I think vaginal u/s are pretty safe. I had them all through my pregnancy 10 years ago with my twin girls and didn't have any problems. They can see the baby better in the early stages of pregnancy than with belly u/s. How many weeks are you Smurfette?

Wannabeone, I think I will ask my RE can I have regular u/s also and see what she says? She did tell me I will be released to a Perinatologist because of my diabetees. So I think I will have regular appt anyway.

Still spotting brown, but they say it is normal. I am sooooo nervous. I just pray these babies are alright when I go back on Thursday and they have grown and have wonderful heartbeats.
Nothing I can do but wait. Hope you are all well. I think there was someone else on here that was spotting, I cant remember.

hi girls,
well i had my u/s yesterday (i went in earlier than planned cuz i coudn't wait any longer!)..and all they could see at this pt. (i am 5w5d) was one sac..no yolk yet..but they said that it might because they did an abdominal u/s vs. a pelvic..my next appt. isn't till June 7th! i am hoping things are all ok..anyone able to see the yolk at this stage?

I had my first u/s at 5w2d and they were able to see two yoke sacs with little buds inside but it was too early for heartbeat. I go back on May 30. When do you go back?

Lisa, don't worry too much about the spotting it is normal. Take it easy until Thursday.

Did you have an abdominal u/s or a pelvic? I had an abdominal one done and was told that a pelvic u/s is more revealing at this pt. I don't go in again till June 7th...that seems like forever..

smurfette2424 - I always had vag ultrasound for the first 2 times since it is so early and the results are better according to my RE. They saw my yolk sac each time at my 6 week scan. Wishing you the very best and hope you will see it very soon!!

Hi ladies,

Mind if I join? I just got my BFP and am very excited! Can't wait to find out if I have 2!!! So far no symptoms other than nausea (but I now try to eat every few hours and that seems to helps) and pressure as if AF is on her way!

I have a few questions, I am an avid runner and weight-lifter. Is it okay to resume these activities- obviously I'll do less and pay attention to my body, I'm just so scared that I might to something to harm my embies. Also, I heard that if you do have multiples you REALLY need to cut back on exercise. Any advice?

My scan is at 1 today I will log on afterward. I am so nervous. My symptoms are totally manageable, not really nauseous, I hope all is OK. I will be so frustrated today if I leave yet again for another week without being able to see a heartbeat.....
