Laura Lou--THe boys are precious! I'm glad to hear you all are doing well. How much longer do they have to stay in NICU? Are you able to breastfeed? (I'm so curious to see if I'll be able to do it... a bit paranoid, actually!) I hope the other twins can hang in there. 25 weeks is soooo early. I do know someone who had twins at 27 weeks, and they have made it. It was a long haul, but all seems to be okay with them.
Di--Good to hear from you! I was starting to wonder if you delivered early!? How is school treating you? TAke care!
Em--You make me laugh. You and I are both paranoid with our panties! I actually had a little bit of yellow mucous today. I have to wonder if it is my plug or part of it? I go to the dr. tomorrow, so I'm sure he'll check everything out!
Have a good night gals! I'm off to grade papers....
Laura - they are beautiful! I am so pleased that you are feeling better. When do youu get to go home? You'll have to keep us updated on everything.....breastfeeding, co-sleeping, etc.....you are going to be our twin guru!
Hi Di, nice to hear you are well. Bubs sound like they are growing really well.
Kim - I KNOW about the undies!!!! I feel like I'm back on the 2ww again, checking for that tell-tale pink smudge! I had yellow mucous at about 29 weeks and the midwife thought that yes part had come away but my cervix remained closed all was good. Mine was about a thumbnail size and she said it should have been much more than that if it had all come away.
Well, I had a bit of a shock at the doc's yesterday when he said my BP was too high. I am now on bed rest until I see him again on Monday and have had to hire a BP machine to monitor my BP at home. And if it goes up again I have to go in to Hospital. Am staying nice and calm as I really don't want to be in hospital away from my DH and dear dog (who still has a nasty ear infection). Watch ths space.

Such handsome boys As Em said -and I second it - you have to be our twin Guru ! I can imagine you and DH must be so thrilled.
Buckeyegal - study is sooo much on the back burner this semester. I have already drooped a subject to concentrate on one but with everythig else going on it is HARD! Not long now.......Only taking on one subject next semester so should be OK.
EM - take it easy chickie - you might be the next one go me thinks
Got my prints that I ordered from America today - so that is it - nursery all done. Well, DH is still to hang the mobiles and prints this weekend. That is a relief as I could not imagine having to shop with two babies to get things I had left for later
I also experienced washing 5 dozen nappies - the nappy station looks daunting actually. Anybody else done this yet?
Here is hoping we will hang in there a few more weeks.
The boys were moved from the closed isolette to an open crib last night! They are doing well and staying warm, so now we just need them to start gaining weight.
Because weight gain is so important, we have the measure everything they eat. That means either pumping breast milk and putting it in a bottle or using formula, so we can see exactly how much they eat. They won't let you breast feed directly, as there is no way to know how much food they are consuming. This actually works out well because I can have my mother, husband, friend, etc feed one baby while I feed the other.
They are keeping the babies together in the same crib. They bundle them up together. It is so cute! Even though they are identical twins, they have very different personalities. Nicholas is very feisty, while Jeremy is more laid back.
My blood pressure is still running a little high, so I am staying on the blood pressure medicine for a while. I am also still very, very swollen. My legs, feet and stomach are so puffy. The dr said it will take several weeks to go away completely. I can't wait to feel like myself again.
Em- So sorry to hear that you also have blood pressure issues. Be careful, as it can be very serious, both for you and the babies. Hopefully you won't have to go into the hospital. I was going to be admitted on Monday because of my bp, but the babies decided they were ready to come. I can't wait to take them home with me.
Laura--I'm glad to hear the babes are doing well! I'm sorry to hear about the swelling, but I'm sure it will subside soon. I bet the boys will start packing on the weight soon. It sounds like you've been able to pump...good for you!
Di--I'm glad to hear that school isn't taking over right now. You need your rest. Also, that's great that you have the nursery done! Mine's done as well. DH hung our Mobile (we only have one for now, as we're hoping the babies will sleep in one crib for a while...we can always buy another mobile later), and all we have left is just to finish washing/organizing stuff. The washing of baby clothes is already daunting. Can't even begin to imagine what it will be like with two spitting, pooping babies!
Em--my dr. said the mucous is totally normal. He didn't think it was my plug. He also checked my cervix, and all is closed down there...so I don't think we'll be having any passengers arriving in the next week! Take care of yourself and your BP. Rest as much as you can....it's too bad we can't stockpile sleep, as we'll be needing it very very soon!
I've been up since 4am with period pain and its driving me batty! Should I be ringing the midwife? I have to see my Obstetrician at midday anyway...perhaps I should wait til then. God being pregnant is so confusing......you never know what symptoms are real.
Hope you all had a nice weekend.

I am sitting here wondering who will be next out of Em, Kim and I
We are all around the same time. We are 31 weeks and 4 days today - time is going so fast!
Em - would not hurt to ring the midwife. My labour with my sone started with period pain then very quickly turned into contractions - he was 2 weeks late! Just as well you are going to see your OB today.
All is well this end - hope everyone else is doing fine as well.
Nicholas came home from the hospital today! I cried and ciried when I had to leave Jeremy there by himself but it is so nice to Nicholas home with us.
They took photos today and they came out so cute. They posed the babies with some teddy bears I had in their crib. When I get the photos, I"ll post one here.
I hope you are all doing well and can hold those babies in a little longer.
Laura--I'm so glad you were able to bring one of your boys home! Yeah! When will the other one get to come home? I'm sure it was very hard to leave him at the hospital....but, this will at least give him the time he needs to be ready for the outside world. I hope he comes home soon.
Em--Did you see your doc? Was it contractions? I'm so curious as to what you were experiencing....I hope you can hold them in a bit longer!
Di--I know what you mean...any of us could go at any moment. I really hope to hold mine in until 36 weeks. I really should start taking it easier to ensure that. But, I feel like I have to get so much done before they get here! I was sterilizing bottles and pacifiers today and cleaning toys. Will I ever really be ready?
Kim - if you hold out to 36 weeks - that is less than 3 weeks to go
LauraLou - so glad you are home - Jeremy will be home soon too I am sure. BUT, it must be hard leaving him at the hospital. How is the breastfeeding going?
My blood pressure has setttled back down and the doc wasn't that worried about the cramps as they settled after taking panadol so he has sent me home. However, I just had to rush to the loo with diarrhoea. At antenatal classes they said that this is often the first sign of things happening.
My Doc expects the babies to come within the next two weeks anyway. I shall keep you posted.

I am so glad that Nicholas made it home for you already! That is wonderful and I am also very sorry that Jeremy had to remain in the hospital. I know that must have been one of the hardest things to go through. But I know that you know he needs that extra TLC right now to be able to come home. And from the sound of your boys and how strong they are he should be home any time now! I hope you are doing well.
