Susan – Congratulations on getting your baby’s back - Looking forward to a BFP next week !!!!

Shantala – have a good week at work and I’m glad you are feeling better

Marsxp – sorry the injections are hurting so much. I have always done mine in my stomach, they never hurt too much except the last few days as it is pretty bloated and tight. I felt a little nauseous this morning but nothing to bad.

Tanya – only a few more day – are you still POAS ??? I’m looking forward to hearing your official BFP.
In NZ if you are receiving public funding they will only put 1 embryo back if you are under 35 their reason being there is only a 2% difference in success rates and the cost down the track to the health system for a twin birth v a single birth is on average $5000 v $35,000….. When I asked a couple of months ago the Doctor said no because if my estergon was high to begin with I could have complication with twins. I’m going to ask them to consider again given my estergon level is back to normal and I’m almost 35. . I feel fortunate enough that I am able to get funding for this cycle so at the end of the day I guess I have to take what they are prepared to do…..(I would love twins….)

Jenn – Congratulations on 6 eggs

Sophie – I love your “change the oil comment” DH gets wound up and grumpy after a couple of days…… His boys are already on ice (they made sure they could get some before we started last cycle. So they will be coming out of the freezer tomorrow. (After being chilled down for 6 months we wonder if our children are going to like the cold or be adverse to the cold when they grow up).

I have to in at the clinic at 8.30 tomorrow morning and EC is 9am. I’ll let you know how it all goes later tomorrow.

Love to you all

Steph, Tanya - my fellow POAS junkies. You guys are so funny. Steph, I about fell out of my chair laughing when you said you drug your 15yr old out of bed! :) Yes, you are officially a junkie!

Qualifications for POAS addiction:

- you have to have purchased not 1 or not even 2 but SEVERAL hpts to take.

- you start testing early to make sure that hcg from the trigger shot has left your system. You're elated that's it's negative at this point...

- Then you start POAS daily, sometimes more than once a day to check for the faintest of lines.

- for each test, you keep in an accessible location so you can pick it up and look at it at LEAST 20 times a day. (I keep mine on the bathroom counter and the bathroom seems to suck me in every time I walk by it)

- you've been in ever position imaginable, even on your head, studying the test to see if you see some type of line

- you hold the test, while standing on your head also, in different lights (believe me, I've tried them all)

- you keep all of your used test, date them, lay them in order to analyze the line getting darker

- you feel you need to keep it a secret from DH cause you're afraid he will think you are loosing it. You test secretly, early hours of the morning.

- you've become a pro at holding your pee for several hours so that you can test again

- and yes, my favorite, you drag your child out of bed to get his/her opinion. (I even asked my 6 year old for her opinion)

If you guys can think of anymore, feel free to add. This is what I've experienced personally.

Ok, I POAS for the 7th time this am, it looks +. I'll confirm with bw this morning and let you guys know this afternoon...... take care!

mandeeq How are you doing??? Are you doing medicated FET???? Are you getting your self organised for wednesdayand the 2ww after.

Shantala How are things???? When is your AF due???

Daly how is you little one. hope he is getting better. thoughts are with you. How are you getting on with the DR ????

Well nothing to report from me. Just trying to do a bit of work from home and keep myself stress free. Not much on tv either :( No symptoms but it is way to early for that. Although did feel a bit stabbing pain yesterday but nothing now so hoping that was them sniggling in. I have pet names for them an dthey are called Holly and Ivy. Good morning ladies!

How are you guys doing? It's a long weekend here, and we're lucky to have our Monday off. Yesterday, it started raining non-stop right after we came back with a car-load of plants, flowers and soil bags. Ack! We have a LOT of work to do in one day! But the weather is sunny and not too hot this morning, so we should be fine.

Stimming is going well. This morning, after the cute decorative paper bag the drugstore had given me teared off and spilled all my boxes of meds onto the floor, I gave in. hehehe First, I emptied all the Puregon boxes. I grabbed a big bowl and put my Puregon needles, Repronex needles and thingies for the mixing, alcohol swab, all in the bowl in separate little humps. Then I put all my Repronex syringes in a big glass. THERE! Everything is easily accessible now! All my Puregon meds are in the puregon blue pouch, with the Pen, in the fridge. My Repronex boxes are in the cupboard with the aforementioned bowl. Lupron always stayed in its own little box with the syringes and the swabs.

Some are POAS addicts... I'm not OCD, but I HATE to waste time fiddling with a thousand boxes in the morning! Gosh, those injections begin to be time-consuming! ;)

Some of you asked how the stimming was going. It's going very well. This morning was my fourth stimming shots day already. I have an appointment tomorrow morning for a blood test. I think I must not give myself the stimming shots before they draw my blood, right? I'll bring the syringes to the clinic anyway. Yesterday, I felt that I was a little more unpredictable, emotionally. I've noticed that I'm more tired since the beginning of the stimming. It's understandable; I'm on so much meds. Yesterday morning, I was looking at all that and I felt a little discouraged; I felt like shedding a tear or two, but it passed. Today, I feel a little more stable. The shots don't hurt when I inject the meds, but a couple of hours afterwards. It's not too bad, and it's worth it! ;) I'm really curious to have that first u/s, either Thursday or Friday morning to see the difference Repronex makes.

Okay, time to do personals!

TansRN: sorry to hear that the wait is driving you crazy! Try to enjoy that special time, though! I know you're really looking forward to see the results, but right now, you have the incredible chance to consider yourself pregnant. Knowing sooner won't change the results, dear! ;)

arizonakiwi: CONGRATULATIONS on the trigger yesterday! I hope it went well! So tomorrow, EC is FINALLY happening! LOL I'm really sorry that your DH had his oil changed and frozen 6 months ago already! ;) I guess he can't enjoy one of the benefits of IVF cycling! ;) Mind you, my libido is really iffy right now. I think too many things are messing with my hormones and it's just not happening as often as I'm used to. DH is not complaining, but I know he misses me! ;) I don't know about your babies being resistant to cold or not, but they sure will be resistant! ;) Good luck with EC tomorrow sweetie. You'll see; as long as you keep breathing the right way, stay relaxed and plan real easy days between EC and ET, you'll be fine. I'm SO looking forward to know about your eggies! I'll be thinking of you sweetheart. You're a real trooper and I wish you the best! As for the number of embies, well, I get their point, but still... I SO would prefer twins, too, I completely understand you for wanting two embies transferred! Keeping everything crossed for that, too!

gbnut: Okay, the list was changed when I read your post. Hehehe thanks for your beautiful comments! :) How are you doing?

Shantala: hey hunny! Long time no see! Sorry to hear that you're still terribly busy... Thanks for your comments on the list! :) It's all those wonderful women who make it beautiful! Hehehe I know, it feels like yesterday for me, too. Glad you remember the Lupron song, lol! :D How I've been feeling about this second cycle? Well... mixed feelings. It's a bit strange. I know the ride from my first experience, so I'm not as excited or nervous as the first time. I know what to expect, and the fact that I might not be lucky this second time either is even more real after a BFN. That makes me calmer and more... detached from all this. That's the right word. That whole IVF experience makes me more detached, and I don't think it's a bad thing. Sometimes I think about telling my family and friends that I'm pregnant; my first trimester would end almost on my b-day (August 17th). I fantasize about going to my parents' house and surprise them with my small belly. I think about Xmas and a big belly. But as I wrote at the beginning of the thread, I really let go more. I'm doing every single thing I can to make those babies happen, but they might not happen in this life and I must accept it. So I take comfort in the knowledge that I'm doing my part, and if these two little souls want to choose me as their mom, so be it. But at that point, it's way beyond my control. It's hard to stay at peace with that sometimes, but most of the time, I do. The stimming is more exciting, of course, yet I'm still a little worried about the cysts I had last time and about the uterine contraction during EC. Eh, if it happens, it happens. ;) I survived it all fine last time, I'll do it again if I have to! :D And what about you? How are you doing sweetie?

marsxp: thanks for your kind words! :) How are you doing with the 2ww? Everyone I talked to sticks the progesterone in their tush. Yes, the lumps are normal because your skin just does not absorb it well. It's the oil... I've heard that putting an ice cube on the skin before the shot and then a warm bottle afterwards helps the oil penetrate the skin better. I think the thighs are the worst place, however, in terms of skin absorption. Tanya?

My2LnT: LOL that POAS story was cute and funny! ;) Let's hope that line gets darker! Follow the specialist's advice (Tanya); go digital! ;) And of course share the results with us! ;)

Jovigal: that list was HILARIOUS! THe forum liked it so much that it posted it four times, it seems, lol! Gosh, you guys all look like you have positive HPTs! Awwwwww I hope it's true! :) What a lucky thread we would be, no? Small miracles have already happened twice! We can make it happen again! :D I'm wishing you a STRONG BFP for today! Can't wait to hear the results! Squeeeeeeee!

Okay, gotta update that list real quick and go outside! Take care ladies!

Hello Ladies,

Its been a while I know. I have been going crazy with all kind of insurance issues. I started Lupron on May 8th and a couple of days later my clinic called me to tell me that I was not covered for IVF. My DH and I were shocked :o. because the insurance company did send the meds in the mail so how could this be right. well... there was no way I was just gonna quit after all the tests, surgery etc to come this far for nothing. so we called and called sent in appeals and of course the ins company did not want to take the blame, but they made one mistake, the sent the Medication. Our clinic told us that they would not be able to do anymore test unless we paid in full over $10K, crazy uh, well my DH and I did get some help directly from the department of his job that handles the ins they basically told the ins company that they must cover us for our test which was this past saturday. Crazy.

I have been on Lupron and now on follistim as well I go back to the dr on wednesday for a b/w. Its not over with the insurance issue because our plan needs to be switched before wednesday for them to continue treatment. I guess because of all the issues I have no time to really think about the needles, but the lupron is not so bad and neither is the follistim pretty small needles, the follistim did sting a little after it was totally in. Anyway thanks for listening.

Congrats to all the BFP'S send some of that supernatural baby dust this way. :D

2W Waiters you have come this far, great news is only days away :) and soon I will be there too.

This is truly a journey to the end and it is your stories of hope, strength and love that keeps me going, thank you all.

I just wanted to drop in and say good luck to everyone on their 2ww. Your POAS stories have had me laughing. I was good last time I had IVF and didn’t POAS until after I got my BFP confirmed with BW. I wanted to see what a positive home test actually looked like. :)

I’m hoping AF starts the end of this week and I will finally get to start my meds for my FET. Seems like we are all going a little crazy with this waiting thing….

Susan,

Thanks for the jig. I can feel it working already-lol! Usually AF is right on time but since I want it to come it will be late. I guess I am doing the medicated version of the FET. I really don’t know the difference. This is my first FET and I know that the first day of AF I start taking oral medication 3 times a day along with my antibiotic 2 times a day and of course the prenatal vitamin. At some point I start doing the dreaded progesterone shots. I assume they will also have me do the low dose aspirin again too.

Does this sound like the medicated version?
