Good evening ladies,

Wow! The thread was so active today! Sorry I won't do as many personals as I want to...

First things first...

CONGRATULATIONS ON TH BFP, JOVIGAL! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! Image

I'm so happy for you sweetheart! You must be over the moon! ENJOY THE NEXT EIGHT MONTHS! :D :D :D :D

Come on girls! Let's make a perfect score on that list! :D STICK, little embies!

mommytobe: I'm so sorry about the insurance drama... OMG, what a CRAZY situation! You must be so exhausted from being on pins and needles like that! You're right, I'd do EXACTLY the same thing if I were in your situation, and that lady at the clinic deserves a little slap behind the head. Kudos to you for staying calm and explaining the situation to her. I really, really hope that you will be able to settle this and complete your cycle. Keeping everything crossed, and I'll say a little prayer for you tonight. *HUGS*

Jul1e: I'm really sorry that you're experiencing an emotional roller coaster on the meds. I hope you won't mind me saying this, but being a psychologist in the medical field, and having worked in obs-gyn for a year... I can't help but do some prevention here. You should really be careful about depression symptoms either during or after pregnancy. Given the way you're reacting to the hormones now, it wouldn't surprise me if you were more at risk, especially if people in your family (blood relatives) have had psychiatric or psychological diagnoses/issues in the past. Depression during pregnancy is not good at all and, yes, it can have an impact on the baby's cognitive development, so please promise me that you'll watch for these symptoms: sadness most days of the week and for several hours in a row and/or loss of interest in the things you normally enjoy, change in appetite, change in weight (5-10 lbs), important fatigue, change in sleep (hypersomnia or insomnia), irritability, memory or concentration loss, apathy, psychomotor slowness (you move generally slower and people notice), irrational feelings of guilt (e.g., feeling super guilty that your neighbor had a car accident when you have nothing to do with it), suicidal or self-harm thoughts. This may never happen, but if you have one of the two first symptoms and at least 5 of the others, you should really see BOTH a psychiatrist/GP for meds and a licensed cognitive-behavioural psychologist for help. The sooner you react, the shorter treatment will be and the sooner you'll feel better. I really hope your body gets used to the hormones soon; it sounds like you had a really rough day. I'm sending you tons of chocolates, kleenex, and hugs! :D

Jenn: I, too, wanted a blast transfer on my first IVF. But after talking to my clinic, they told me that they changed their approach with experience (12 years!). They told me that, really, the best place for an embryo to transfer is the womb, not a petri dish. Their success rates was not better with 5 days transfers, so they stopped doing it. Not altogether; for some women, it's better to wait a little. It has to do with age, medical condition, the embryos' development, and so on. But if you're like me and you're a "regular" IVF patient (if such a thing exists!!!), then a 3 days transfer, the norm, is absolutely okay. Hope it helps! Hehehe good luck for the transfer tomorrow, and I agree; you want to pamper those embies! ;) Remember... princess status! :D

Okay, I have to go now. We worked ALL day around the house, and my back hurts now! ;) But we did a good job and if everything grows the way it should, the result will be breathtaking! :D Me proud!

Good night,

Sophie

Hey guys...

Mandeeq-Have fun with the pessaries girl! LOL

Tia
I hate the fact that ins companies rule our lives. I hate that someone behind a desk determines what is best for me. It is really a bad way to treat people. Sorry to have to deal with that stress.

Jovigal
Congratulations! I am so happy for you mama!!! I know that you must be thrilled about this! I am happy that you are preggo!!!!

Jul
I know what you mean about the hormones. I really do. I am so hormonal this cycle it is crazy. I can't believe that one minute I am fine and the next I am a beotch!!!! It is bad. I try not to let my hormone feelings interrupt my day but sometimes it is so hard isnt it??? Hey I have updated my page with more stick photos! www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com for those of you who are interested.

Jenn
I am so excited for you to go in and get your babies tomorrow. I can't wait to hear how it goes. I would ask...is there something wrong? is this policy? is the doc not avail at five days? What is the deal....There is success with 3 day but I know what you mean about the 5 day deal. I would want to know the truth about what is going on. Directly not beating around the bush...go in there with questions girl. Take them on. Sticky baby dust to you.

Steph
Can you hardly wait until Thursday? I can't wait until then LOL I am going nuts....AGHGHGHGHGH I must know. I contemplated buying a lab and running my own test today but couldnt get the paperwork done on time! LOL We are in the same boat for this week. It is nice to share the agony with you...

Sophie
I hope that you are doing well. Thinking about you tonight.

Daly
Hoping that things worked out for your baby.....

Talk to you guys later...got to get ready for the night shift!

Tanya, I just visited your blog, you are definitely prego from the looks of that pic. Mine wasn't even that dark and my hcg was 87.9. There must be more than one in there snuggling in... :)

I'll have to do more personals later, got to get ready for bed, been a LONG day. I just went to my niece's high school graduation. It's so hard to believe, she was a newborn (2wks old) when me and dh got married 18 years ago. I feel OLD. Old and pregnant  . Also, this year will also be my 20 year high school reunion. Yep, I'll probably be the only there pregnant... hehehehe, I don't mind a bit.

Hi Ladies,

Sophie, Tanya, Jules: Yes its been crazy, pins and needles. Yes it really sucks that all my hopes for this cycle depends on a ins company with people who does not understand how emotional this is. Seriously, i can't wait to just go through this cycle with ease. From what my DH says this should be all taken care of by tomorrow (our plan being switched to a plan that covers IVF) and from there smooth sailing I hope :?

I will keep you all posted.

Hi buddies,

I'm so sorry I haven't been posting. I wanted to wait until I had time to do personals and not just a me post. But, I soooo appreciate all you prayers for my little guy. He had surgery today and they rerouted his gall bladder to his duodenum. He's real sleepy, but appears to be OK. vitals are normal and we'll just hold our breath that he heals up over night. That is the critical time period. So far so good. Thank you again for all your support. I read everyones post and just couldn't write alot this week-end. Everyone's kind words brought tears to my eyes. You are an amazing group of women. Huge hug to everyone xoxo

Jovigal - You go girl!!! Way to get the vibe of our list going!!!! This is turning out to be a truly blessed bfp month! I hope you are absolutlely beaming and getting tons of pampering from dh. As I said on your post, can't wait to gleefully complain of morning sickness and sore boobs with you! (not htat I'm wishing any discomfort on you, but nothing would make me happier than having those complaints. )

mommytobe - I so understand insurance angst! We are still getting bills that should have been paid over a year ago for previous IVFs and had to switch insurance at the last minute before our IVF because dh was told wrong benifits with out prior plan. But it worked out. (Don't get me started on the hospital insurance pulling my dh away from our 5 minute old baby to verify insurance! Can you even believe it!) I'm sure it will work out great and you'll be poking in no time! Afterall, you are a "mommy to be," right!!

Tanya - I'm whispering a BFP CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!...I mean bfp congratulations... I can't wait to join you and Jovigal. We have a great trend going here! Thank you for the thoughts of my little boy. He sends you a warm furry snuggle. You poor dear having to work night shift. I remember my last night on call and I've sworn to never again! Is that your usual schedule? and what kind of nursing do you do?

Sophie - Thank you so much for the thoughtful inclusion of my special little boy in the list. It brought tears to my eyes. He is really a very special boy and he sends you warm little furry snuggles and a wet nose kiss in thanks. Tomorrow will probably be the day we really know if he is on the mend. All fingers crossed. From your last post I'm very intrigued as to what you planted. Sounds like you had a lovely plan. I loved my garden (it was destroyed during our recent home remodel .....never ending home remodel  ) I can't wait to get the vines and plants back. Heck, I don't even have grass anymore!! We are working on it slowly and I'd lke to incorporate a fountain. Love the sound of water. Sounds like you have good energy during this cycle. You certianly exuberate a wonderful energy in your posts! I hope you are also getting good rest. You are quite the busy bee on your posts and I really hope you're giving yourself alot of pempering too. These stims take alot of energy out of us to grow the eggs. this is my 4th cycle, and I did noticably better when I was sure to spoil myself a bit. I hope I don't sound condencending, jsut I can spot an super-achiever (not a bad thing) a mile away and hope your giving yourself a much deserved break once in a while (us therapists have to look out for eachother  )

Steph - Let's hear it for the pee stick!! Sounds like a darn good result. We have record month so far! Get yourself extra pampering :D (my condolences for your teen!!)

Jenn - Do not worry at all about 3 day transfer. This is a commonly confused thing. The reason to do 5 day transfers is ONLY to help with decreasing risks of multiple births. If an embie makes it to 5 days, it is thought to be strong and therefor a good choice for transfer as it shows good resiliencey. This is only to help with choosing the embies to tranfer. And especially helpful with women who make 20 or so embies and have a high number of fertilizations (what a great problem to have huh?) and helps the RE choose who to transfer as it shows the strongest embies after 5 days. It does not "help" the embie to wait until 5 days to transfer. In fact many that would be perfect babies can't live 5 days because we still don't have quite the right medium to culture the guys in and they just do better in mommy. 3 Days is standard. Some places do 2 day tranfers and places who have the sequential blast cultures do 5 day transfers - only when needed to choose amongst higher number of good growing embies. It doesn't improve your embies to wait, only helps decide who gets to go back to mom sooner! Give you belly happy rubs, your little ones are much happier with you and you're going to be PUPO soon!! (pregnant until proven otherwise) :D :D Wolfy sends you and your embies special warm furry snuggles for their long awaited transfer back to mommy.

Jules - You put it perfectly, we'll be here for their forever, and that is huge for our little ones. That gives me comfort as well with my little girl. Her last minutes were with her and I looking right into eachothers' eyes and she was loved every minute of life. I'm so sorry about your roller coaster. If it gives you any consolation, it is one of my number one signs I'm pregnant when I get emtional. I was crying througout all of 101 Dalmations (something about the dogs working together to find the puppies triggered it...no good explanation) the day before I found out I was pregnant and was ready to ship poor dh off to Siberia. HOrmones are incredibly powerful and I figure "radical acceptance" is the way to get through this. You will return to "normal" (whatever the heck that means) and this a temporary loss of insanity. Be gentle with yourself and make sure dh knows to be gentle with you. I have my dh pretty well "trained" by now and it is much smoother when they are well prepared for emotional roller coaster woman!! Hey, we know the hormones are working right??

Mandeeq - Thank you for thinking about my little boy. He sending you special warm furry snuggles. I'm sending you great uterine lining vibes. That is a priority with my cycle too. We are adding estrogen patches to my fresh cycle as my lining was on the thin side last cycle (7) and we'd like it to be over 9. I'll do a lining jig for the both of us

Susan - Here we are again! Amazing how time flys! I'm so thrilled to here your little frosties were in tip top shape! That is fantastic. Hope you are giving you belly special rubs and getting lots of pampering! (As I recall you were quite disciplined with the pee stick! When is bpt bt day?) BTW, love the name Holly as that is my name. I hope it brings you tons of babydust luck!

ltaylor - Sending warm California sunshine to your little baby-cycles. I have a friend who got bfp only on her 2 frozen cycles (2 beautuifl little girls) and had 2 bfn on her fresh cycles. It's nice especially when you have lining issues, because they can wait until your lining is perfect and don't have to balance that with the growing eggs. Doing an AF jig for you!

Angela - STICKY STICKY STICKY!!!! Can't wait to hear your news. My little boy is sending you warm furry snuggles and tons of babydust. (I think his version of dust feels like a wet slimy dog nose poking for a belly rub, but the baby wishes are certainly heartfelt!) Thank you so much for thinking about him. I go now to see how the little guy is doing after surgery.

Off to give the boy love and he sends everyone the warmest snuggles and wet nosed kisses he can. Huge hello to everyone I missed. Sorry for being so behind!

babydust to everyone!!

Morning All

Angela great news about your 7 eggs sending +++++++ for fertilisation. Take it easy.

Daly/Holly Hope all goes well with your little one. he is a fighter to get this far so hoping that you get good news today. I will be good and stay away from HPT and i have my BT on 29th.

Jovigal well done again for BFP BFP BFP do you have another test tomorrow to chek that it is doubling???

Tia hope you get the good news soon that you can continue. good on you standing your ground with the lasy at the clinic.

Mandeeq i am on cyclogyst pesseries at night but gestone injection in am for my progesterone. Also on E2 pills and patches to bring my lining up as i aslo have problems with my lining. All the very best for Transfer my fingers are crossed for you.

Julie what i mean my levels is at my clinic i have a scan but they also check your E2 levels as that is the gauge they go on for trigger. If your E2 level is too high they will not trigger you as it is at risk of OHSS. The levels go hand in hand with the number of follies you have. best of luck it will not be long now. Hope your emotions calm down soon, jsut hang in there and stay away from everyone

Jenn best of luck with the transfer. what are you going to do in the 2ww???

Hello all-

We are starting this thread out very well I want to say! Congrats to the BFP's that we have!!!! For anyone else who is a POAS addict there is a web site called www.peeonastick.com and it is so great with brands and photos and all. I love going there...check it out.

Jovigal
That is so great about your pregnancy! And your class reunion! How wonderful that you will be able to go and show off your much earned belly!!!

Daly and Susan
I am a cardiac nurse working on a telemetry unit. I love it. I love being a nurse-this is my usual shift so I don't miss anything with my kids during the day. I can choose to go to the school play or a doctor appointment without missing work. I just put in for a 3 days a week job-Sat, Sun and Mon from 7pm-7am. Thats it and you get paid for 40 hours a week. I hope I get it because right now I work 5 8's and I don't like that too well!!! I do not like first shift though-snotty people!!! And doctors and residents....uugghh!!!!

Angela
I am so happy for you and your 7 little eggies! I can't wait to hear how they fertilized! That is so great.

Hi everyone can I join in here? My name is Toni and I must start out by saying that I absolutely LOVE the support and encouragement that flows so freely on these boards. I’m 39 years YOUNG and have been married to the most wonderful man for 4 years. Unfortunately, 6 years ago, I was single and didn’t think I’d ever get married, so I had my tubes tied….of course, now I want to kick myself over it. My husband and I DESPERATELY want to share children together (we have 3 between us, me-DS (19), him 2XDS (9 & 29).

My tubal ligation is non-reversable, so IVF is my only option. We originally considered the idea because my insurance has an IVF benefit…but later found out that they will not pay if you’ve had a tubal ligation. We took a few months to think about it and decided to move forward anyway and just pay for it ourselves, so here I am.

I’m waiting for AF to arrive so I can go have my bloodwork to determine my FSH levels then I’ll start my BCP. I’m not sure where to post because I’m not really sure if that puts me in the May/June cycle or later. I’ve decided to do acupuncture while I’m going through this and my first appointment is TODAY!!!!

Is there anyone here near my age who has had success with IVF following a tubal ligation? Also, I used to smoke but have quit which is good since my dr refuses to perform IVF on anyone who is smoking.

I’m so excited to be here and I can’t wait to get to know all of you. I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now, but I knew it was time to post yesterday when Jovigal posted her BFP and my eyes started tearing.

Hello Ladies,

Daly: Thanks for your support, these people can be so cold when it comes to money and insurance. i can believe they pulled away your DH from your new baby. I should get some good new today.

Susan: I should get some good news today on the ins situation.

i had to stand up to her, I was outraged that she did not think to ask me what my side of the story was. the clinic has a contract with the ins company, so i kindly told her that just has much as they are clients so am I. I am sure she felt bad afterwards especially after i told her what if this was she going through this at the last min they don't want to follow through. "mommytobe" i chose because i wanted to claim being a mommy to be, I have no kids.

Angela: 7 eggs how wonderful, i am sure you will have some wonderful news. Take it easy today. I am currently doing IVF as well, on my stims now. was the ER painful?
