Need a lift me up!

Post by shaynew05 »

Hi everyone! This is my first post, though I have been reading your posts for quite some time now for encouragement. I guess it just took me a little courage to finally send out my first post. But here I am! :D

My husband and I just went through our first IVF cycle this month and I actually found it be very simple all the way up to the ER. After that it was a good week of healing. But now I am feeling SOOO much better. I am 34 and my husband is 34 (actually birthday on the same day and year).

We had good success with our ER that was on 05/11. They retrieved 17 eggs with 13 mature. 10 later fertilized using 1/2 ICSI and half not ICSI. On day 3, 9 made it with the following grades: 6 @ 8A, 1 @ 12A, 1 @ 10A, and 1 @ 6B). We transfered to beautiful looking 8A embryos on 05/14. Our Doctor and Embriologist were so pleased with how our cycle and embryos turned out. We were able to freeze 7 embryos.

Well, I have been trying so hard in the 2WW to be so optimistic. I have had really no signs nor symptoms other cramping and some soreness in my breasts; probably from the progesterone shots. I have felt like AF is coming every now and then since ET. I have had the same kind of symptoms as everyone else here after the ER; cramping, bowel discomfort, etc.

So, here is my thing. I have two more days till bloodtest and I gave in the aweful HPT. Why did I do this I just don't know?! :? I am 10 days past ET and I came up with an BFN. I am so disappointed. I would have thought by now, I would have been able to at least see a faint line, but it was clearly only 1 negative line.

Can anyone out there please give me some words of encouragement? Is there still hope that I can still get a BFP on Friday? Or, should I just look at this and except this as a BFN and just try to move on?

Thanks everyone! Your words and wisdom has really helped me through the whole process since the beginning. Even though I was just a ghost reading your posts.

I just bought a HPT for my wife to do tommorrow morning. I couldnt take it anymore, and she basically said she has been wanting to do one for a week now, so if she came home (she works nights) and found one there, she wouldn't mind.

Im so nervous about it though. We dont test untill monday, and she is planning on taking the HPT tommorrow morning before i give her the POI shot.

Everything has went so smooth for us. We got 28 eggs, 18 fertilized and we put 2 back 1 7 cell and 1 8 cell. Everything was so optimistic, but then out of all the ones left to culture, only 1 made it to blast and frozen....that REALLY worries me.

So far she has had no real symptoms. some cramping and what not the first few days after transfer...and the breast soreness and a bit moody, but nothing else.

arghh i will be so so devastated if this didnt work. The money is a big factor, but just all the time and effort Tracy has put into this, the pain of the shots, the medicines, the worrying, appointments...she has taken it all like a trooper, and id hate to have to see her if we find out it was all in vain.

well, 10day after transfer is pretty tricky, but it depends what kind of test did you use? HCG trace is pretty much very small for a regular HTP test to pick up.
Anyways, here you can find some success stories that tested negative till the day of blood test. So you never know... Good luck to you!

SATX, if your wife has a test on monday, it might be a lil bit too early to have an HTP tommorrow, unless you guys want to see if u still have traces of HCG in your wife's blood.
