Here is a fun predition website. http://pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/b ... ce-736.htm

Obviously, I am not sure I believe in preditions, but it will be interesting to see what the acutal results are...

I did it and here are my results:

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be foggy. Your baby will arrive in the morning.
After a labor lasting approximately 15 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and will be 19 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and be completely bald.

But there is more. Although you may feel tired, your pregnancy will be over before you are truly ready to let go of having this precious baby you have all to yourself. I sense that you will look back and long for these days. I suggest doing something now to preserve some memories of this time. Many women enjoy making a belly cast.

Here are the second results....

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be breezy. Your baby will arrive in the early evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 11 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and be almost bald.

But there is more. It is perfectly healthy and normal to want to look good, even during these interesting months! I sense you feel a little reluctant. Well, you're not being silly or shallow -- you're taking care of yourself. And I am happy that you are.

Enjoy!

:D  :D Twelve Weeks and Two days :D  :D

Hi Guys, Sorry I haven't writen for ages. what happened to Lola really upset me and freaked me out and I decided that i could read anymore until I felt safer.

So I waited until my twelve weeks scan which was yesterday. It's been a long time coming, my only other scan was as 8 weeks and that feels like years ago. I know I was still pregnant - but I kept thinking how do I know they are both ok.

But I am so happy to report - it went really really well. The first soniagraph lady we saw was very quitet and focused on the job _ ithink she was to confussed by the new computer-ultrasound to be smiley. But she went and got the senior soniagraph and she could not have been more warm and happy for us.

It makes such a difference doen't it! She sent ages showing us every detail of each baby at 12 weeks they can see their stomach and their bladders and can tell if they are working. They checked for four limbs a piece and measured them to 62mm

But the funniest bit is - my DH's twin the naughty one  was turning cartwheels round and round like a little gymnast while my twin the angelic one  looked like it was asleep. That is until DH's naughty twin kicked it in the head and suddenly it woke up and looked confussed.

So funny.

Can't believe all that is going on inside!

We were in there for half a bliss full hour - and wished we could have stayed all day.

So now I can finally tell people. And I can join TAMBA and start ordering stuff. We aren't very rich so we have decided to try and get most stuff second hand - which is a bit more difficult with twins - can you imagine having triplets!!!

So one again I reccommend to twin mums my book by Emma Mahony because its full of good advice about what to buy and what to avoid. Surveys by other twin mums on which buggys are best and where to get them from first and second hand including prices etc.

I like practical positive advice. I don't want to spend my whole pregnancy worrying about what could go wrong and how difficult feeding two will be later which seems to be what some twin books are like.

Unlike that stupid Jon bloke "Blokes guide to pregnancy" i really want to slap him - have to keep reading to see what inane comment he is going to come out with next. He moans about his poor wife all the way through and is tatally fixated on what he is missing out on.

Anyway, gotta go now,

Love to you all,

paquita xxx

Oh my goodness - I can't believe you can see all that at 12 wks!!! Quita, you must just be so happy! I love that the two of them are already winding each other up - hysterical!

I clearly am eating all the pies, I gave in and had to go and buy a pair of materinity jeans today! My normal ones are really low cut and feel like they are digging in exactly the wrong place when I sit down - even when held together with an elastic band! I lied and told the shop lady I was 13 wks - far too embarassed to say I'm only 9!!! Has anyone else bought any maternity clothes yet??!

Miss Piggy, thanks for your info on the nuchal fold scan, we are offered it as part of the normal scans so we're going to do it. Quita did they test your twins today or does your area do bloods?

Quita, what great news! I cannot wait until our scan next week. I have already bought a couple of gender neutral outfits and a diaper bag. My mom was shocked that the bag was blue, but it is just a color for a diaper bag! I am now 100% off of all of the IVF meds and my nausea has gotten bad again. I guess they were helping me to feel better. And is it just me or do you go from full to starving as well, with no in between? It is very frustrating, and as often as I eat, I cannot seem to eat often enough. I am getting tired of eating. :(

DOUBLE TROUBLE: TWINS AND HOW TO SURVIVE THEM

by Emma Mahony

Ten Great Things About Twins

1. You have an instant family - just add milk.

2. You will become a local celebrity in the park and playground.

3. You never feel guilty about getting more help.

4. Your twins will turn out to be more confident, supportive, innovative, substantial, self-knowing, sought-after and giving than average.

5. You will only have to orginise one bithday party a year.

6. Nobody asks you whether you are going to have more children for at least a year!

7. You get to eat 4,000 calories a day when breastfeeding (thats a tub of Haagen-Dazs and pint of Guinness for lunch).

8. Twins start giggling at each other as soon as they can smile. :D

9. You can make proper use of the 'buy one get one free' offers in the supermarket.

and my personal favourite...

10. If you get get fed up with one, you always have the other!

Denise,

Hiya you will love it. I wonder if it was just random how we saw them or whether Rabbit will always be the lively one one and Stew the passive one. I guess even fetuses have their own personalities.

I haven't bought anything yet other than this cute hand knitted cardigan and tiny knitted socks from my red crosss shop at the hospital. Just needed to buy something to make them real.

I was told I could stop sticking Progestorone up my butt twice a day once I got to twelve weeks but having two babies noone has been able to tell me with certainty that we are there with both - so seeing as I have got a pack left I am going to keep taking them till tomorrow night. As Saturday I will be twelve weeks from ET.

If funny although its not the most enjoyable part of my day. At least I felt I was doing something - in contol a bit. Now it will be all up to those hidden forces in my body.

You are spot on about food - one minute I am starving and the next I am full. But I am not eating all day - just about three meals and two snacks.

Miss Piggy Don't worry you can lose it afterwards if you want to. And isn't fun wearing materinty clothes.

Tam Hi honey I wnt some maternity jeans! I am not there yet. Tiny in the morning big by lunch and huge at night! Werid huh?

I recon Rabbit is going to be right kicker. ahhhh Just can't see where they are going to fit in me? I am very short 5ft. I was a English size 6-8 American size 2-4 still wearing size 8 tops. I recon they are going to have to stand out at right angle from me. funny huh!

I am not having the tests because my mid wife said on the stat tests + blood test it will probably come up as possitive risk just because I have had IVF and I know that already.

She said they could try to do a nucal fold scan but its much harder to do with twins.

I don't want further tests if we did get a possitive for downs because of the miscarriage risk and having two you can't just abort one without the other even if you wanted two.

So although I'd love an all clear - there seems very little point frightening ourselves for nothing.

Love to you all,

Quita that makes total sense re: twins and nuchal fold. Besides they used not to offer it at all unless you were over 40 so I'm sure the risk is very small. You mention that you are on 2 x progesterone up the bum (it had been about the only orrifice not violated in this whole ivf process until I found out about the suppositary horror) I'm only on 1 x 400mg? Must be different hospitals I guess? I agree with you, if I'm having a really worrisome day or some cramping, it makes me feel like I can do something about it. However, when I had my first m/c I was on 2 x and it still happened so I'm sure its been your body naturally looking after the twins all along. I am also normal in the morning but by the evening I look about 4 months pregnant!

Miss Piggy don't worry at all about ballooning we can deal with it after we've had the babies! I was told to stop all exercise and put on weight to up my BMI from 18 to 22 to give myself the best chance of success with IVF. I have no idea what my BMI is now because I don't have any scales and haven't been to the gym in months but I bet my house on it now being well over 22!!!

If anyone is looking for some maternity jeans I found some which aren't hideous in blooming marvellous - they have the ones with the band round the middle which are a dead give away at this stage, but they also had some which look like normal jeans around the waist and have adjustable bands inside, they have 3 x leg length and were only £35 which I thought was quite reasonable for maternity jeans. Best of all they are soooooo comfortable!! I am also still in my size 8 tops, and getting some very appreciative comments from DH!!

... I feel I have to admit to someone that I just scoffed an entire bag of cheesy whatsits (to those non-Brits these are a very orange cheesy flavoured puff crisp thing - not an ounce of goodness in the whole bag!) I had been so good today as well. I feel I may have to blame it on a craving.......

Adamsoa, by December I shall be the size of a very large house!! absolutely, definitely the progesterone - nothing whatsoever to do with my lack of willpower....

Hi everyone,
Quita,
Rabbit & Stew sound hilarious! I hope you got all of that on dvd. We are getting ours next Thurs & taking a dvd. I hope everythings ok with my munchkins! Did you get a peek between the legs? I have heard of some people finding out as early as 12 weeks if they are having a boy.

Denise,
Sorry to hear about the step daughter from hell. That doesn't sound fun at all! I hope you aren't letting it bother you too much. I too have bought a couple of things. I bought 2 little tee shirts that are embroidered with " handle with care" & they have a tiny patch at the bottom that says "I stink therefore I am" I also bought 2 boy preemie fleece sleepers & 2 boy duckie gowns. Yes, I really think they're boys but, I'm not going crazy yet! Why would your mom have a problem with a blue diaper bag? What day do you have your us? Are you doing the nt? Mine's on Thurs.
Tams,
Must be Cheetos puffs in the US, yum! Sounds good. I am craving junk food but, trying to be careful. I really want top ramen. I know that's bad for you so, I've only had it twice. I feel like I can't be ridiculous & beat myself up over everything.

Miss Piggy,
I wish I would have thought of that, getting bigger while going through my ivf then I could already be in my maternity clothes by now & not feel like everyones bigger than me. Have you seen some of the belly shots on the internet with singletons? It's shocking & I have twins.

I haven't posted in awhile due to sinus problems. I have been on so many meds & I would have never dreamed of even taking a tylenol with my other kids. I was told that I cannot be coughing & I was so miserable with my nose completely plugged that I couldn't breathe or sleep at night. It has been horrible & I am now having massive guilt over the meds. I have taken sudafed, benadryl, cough meds, dimetapp, & they didn't even work. They gave me 2 different nasal sprays. I took 1 of them twice & now they are telling me to take mucinex. I am trying to tough it out but, I am worried about the coughing. They say it can cause contractions. What a nightmare! Anyone know anything about meds or natural remedies?

Pixiesmom, I have an US scheduled for Thursday as well, but it is not a ns. I am not sure if we will even do that because no matter what the results, we are going to keep the pregnancy, so it will probably be a waste of money for us.

The good thing about it being step child issues is that I know that I am not the reason why she is how she is. (Sad, I know)
