Morning Ladies!
I had to drag myself into work today. I originally took today off because we were driving to Atlanta. Since that trip was cancelled no point in wasting a day. We don’t get maternity leave so I need all the days I can get.

Fee—STOP self diagnosing yourself. Stay away from google. Noggin is fine and will continue to be fine. I’m sure you are just experiencing the normal aches and pains of pregnancy. HA…I got a lot of nerve. hehehehe….Ok, I’ll stop with the self-righteous crappy lecture. I would have done the same thing. You are my hypochondriac hero! I never thought to google my symptoms. Thanks for the idea. Glad to hear Noggin was so active this time around. Did you eat anything sweet before you went in? I heard that’s supposed to help make them more active.

Mel—It’s funny that you are in West Palm Beach. I was just doing a search for a vacation down there for this upcoming weekend. After my drive to Atlanta was cancelled I was on a mission to find another trip. There were a couple of specials to West Palm Beach but we would have to come back on Tuesday and DH can’t do that. So now I’ll be home probably hanging out by the pool and painting my kitchen this weekend. Have fun in FL me. I can’t wait to see pictures of your nieces. I have a 10 month old niece and I just love her to pieces. She’s so cute. I want her to stay that size. LOL

Sassy—I was looking thru a baby magazine the other day and there was this cute chair for babies. It was made by Sassy. It made me think of you. The chair was unique and very stylish. Something I could see you creating. Happy to hear that hubby got two thumbs up…wait, then again no I’m not. Not sure how to feel. Happy everything is okay. But then part of me thinks that if something wasn’t okay then at least we would know what is causing the issues and then fix it. Does that make sense? Well whatever is the case, I want whatever you want. Sometimes I think a counselor is better than talking to a friend. You are getting everything off your chest without everyone being in your business and without judgmental opinions you sometimes get from friends.

Jenn—Keep that positive attitude. It’s too early to be self diagnosing yourself. Those aches you are feeling are just your little ones settling in. Don’t stress and stay positive. Are you still relaxing? Stay away from the evil HPT. Yup, I had 24hour bed rest. Which technically is over the next day the same hour you had ET. But I stayed in bed, the entire day after ET then the next day until the time of ET (which was around noon). After that I was still home but I did a little more. But I took it easy and did get in and out of the bed. LOL I guess it all comes down to what’s best for you. What makes you feel more at ease. I’m not sure if we’ll ever know if bed rest is a do or don’t. But like someone else said, can it hurt? Let us know about the blood work and if the others made it to freezing.

Robbo—I’m so jealous. Only one day left of work. I would love that. I would love summers off. Hmmm, maybe I should look into teaching. I get tired of staring at the computer all day. And having summers off with the twins would be great. I think a career change might be in the future. OH HELL NO!!!! Robbo, she can’t tell you or ask you what to buy her for the shower? I hope you’re not talking about the gift? If so, then absolutely not. Actually you are not expected to give a huge gift since you are paying for the shower. She gets whatever you give her. Now if you are talking about decorations and supplies for the shower, that’s another thing. Personally I don’t think she should be telling you what to purchase but I guess she may want certain things for her shower. I don’t like her and don’t think she should be asking for any darn thing. She’s already asking enough. I think nutritional cake without icing (and use all low fat ingredient) would be perfect. Instead of water and food coloring; what about putting a picture of tap water on everyone’s table with some lemons and sugar and they can make their own lemonade. LOL BTW..did I mention that I don’t like your OUT laws either. I think you should get a dog and train it to bite them. I bet they wont come and stay for two weeks anymore. LOL

Meg—You’d be surprised how many people are going thru IF. I found about so many more people when I started talking about my issues. I think more people are talking about it now, due to society being more acceptable and because of technology. My cousin’s wife and my best friend are both going thru it right now. I hear stories from my SIL and friends about how many people they know who are dealing with it. I definitely think it’s also environmental. My best friend made a joke the other day about the nasty water we grew up drinking and that’s why we are having these issues now. LOL Also, more people are waiting longer to have kids. I bet if I was a little fast girl and got pregnant in my teens, I wouldn’t have had these issues. But I might have had others such as being a teen mom, possibly missing prom, not graduating, no college. It’s always something. Issues early or issues later. LOL

Angie—You are not a failure! No sista is. We just have complex bodies that are not easy to figure out and they also have minds of their own. Hope AF shows up soon so we can get this show on the road. How many totsicles do you have waiting to be home with their mommy? Don’t feel bad. I wont be going anywhere either. Looks like a trip to home depot to pick out paint will be the highlight of my weekend. Tiles sound so much more fun.

Well yesterday we had out 16 week scan and we found out we are having a boy and a girl!! I’m so excited yet don’t want to get too excited yet. The u/s technician first told us that it might be too early to tell before she started scanning and said we would know for sure at the 20 week scan. But then during the scan she told us. Baby A is a girl and baby B is a boy. DH and I are so happy and excited. I just hope we get the same results at the 20 week scan. But if not, we’ll just tell everyone…opps, they were wrong. No biggie. I just know not to run out and purchase anything yet. LOL But everything looks great with the twins. They are both measuring exactly we’re they are suppose to. The boy is measuring a little bigger than the girl but not much. They are both around 5 ounces. The girl is a little more laid back. She moved for us during the u/s. But the boy was all over the place. He would not sit still. It took the technician a while to get all his measurements. She needed to measure his arm and couldn’t because he would not sit still. He was flipping all over the place. I think she was getting frustrated. LOL She said a 16 week u/s usually doesn’t take this long. LOL DH and I found it very funny and entertaining that he was all over the place. The technician did not. Finally she got the last measurement which was his arm. Everything measured just right for both of them. The only bad thing is that I have 3 fibroids. One is pretty big and right over the little girl. The doctor told me it was nothing to worry about and that they would stop growing in a few weeks. But I have been feeling a slight pain where the large fibroid is. SO the doctor says since the little girl is right underneath it she’s probably kicking it and that’s the pain I feel. I just that these fibroids don’t cause any harm to my babies.

After finding out the great news about our boy and a girl, I can deal with not going on a vacation right now. Maybe I’ll just put on my bathing suit (once I get one that fits) and run thru the sprinklers. Maybe fix me a virgin drink and lay out in the backyard. I’ll have my own vacation at home.

Have a lovely weekend ladies!

Wanna--Congrats on the boy and girl. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that is the dream! Hope the fibroids stop growing. What exactly is a fibroid?

Fee--Keep up the "Aussisms". I heart them. Glad that Noggin finally got over his shyness! Are you feeling him move yet? I didn't think I had felt her, but once I realized what it was I realized that I'd been feeling her for quite a while. (Wow, that was a horrible sentence!!!!)

Angie--Hey! They mentioned Trista and Ryan on the Bachelor the other night. She's 6 months pregnant. I think they had a lot of trouble getting preggers, too. Hope AF comes soon. And please, you are so not a loser.

You know Meg, I was never really sure what a fibroid was. My OBGYN explained it to me years ago when I was first diagnosed with them. But I couldn't really tell you off the top of my head to so I looked it up. LOL

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that are made up of the muscle and connective tissue from the wall of the uterus (womb). Fibroids may grow as a single nodule or in clusters and may range in size from 1 mm to more than 20 cm (8 inches) in diameter. They may grow within the wall of the uterus or they may project into the interior cavity or toward the outer surface of the uterus. In rare cases, they may grow on stems projecting from the surface of the uterus.

What Causes Uterine Fibroids?
The causes of fibroids are not known. Most fibroids occur in women of reproductive age. They seldom are seen in young women who have not begun to menstruate, and they usually stabilize or go away in women after menopause.

Who Is at Risk for Uterine Fibroids?
No risk factors have been found for uterine fibroids other than being a female of reproductive age.

What Are the Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids?
Most fibroids do not cause any symptoms and do not require treatment other than regular observation by a doctor. Fibroids may be discovered during routine gynecologic examinations or during prenatal care. Some women who have uterine fibroids may experience the following symptoms:

Excessive or painful bleeding during menstruation.
Bleeding between periods.
A feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen.
Frequent urination resulting from a fibroid that compresses the bladder.
Pain during sexual intercourse
Low back pain.

How Are Uterine Fibroids Treated?
More and more, doctors are beginning to realize that uterine fibroids may not require any intervention or, at most, limited treatment. For a woman with uterine fibroids that are not causing symptoms, the best therapy may be watchful waiting. Some women never exhibit any symptoms nor have any problems associated with fibroids, in which case no treatment is necessary.

If a woman is experiencing anemia caused by heavy, prolonged menstrual bleeding, moderate to severe pain, infertility or urinary tract or bowel problems, she will require therapy. Treatment options include:

Medications. For women who experience occasional pelvic pain or discomfort, a mild, over-the counter anti-inflammatory or pain-killing drug such as Aleve or Motrin, often will be effective. .
Some fibroids are treated with hormones that reduce the amounts of the hormone estrogen. Doctors believe that fibroids grow best when there are high levels of the female hormone estrogen.

Birth control pills can be used to treat the bleeding symptoms of uterine fibroids because they decrease the production of female hormones and prevent ovulation. Birth control pills (oral contraceptives) do not reduce the size of uterine fibroids and may in fact increase their size.

Surgery. Fortunately, a woman now has a number of surgical and less invasive options for treatment of uterine fibroids that can control symptoms, preserve the uterus, and preserve fertility. In the past, a woman with growing uterine fibroids was only considered a candidate for hysterectomy (the surgical removal of the uterus). Performing hysterectomy in a woman of reproductive age means that she will no longer be able to have children.

If a fibroid is particularly troublesome, the surgeon often can remove only the tumor, leaving the uterus intact. This procedure is called myomectomy. This is done when a woman wants to be able to have children.
There are a number of techniques that can be used to perform a myomectomy:
Laparoscopic myomectomy involves the use a thin, telescope-like instrument attached to a small video camera called a laparoscope inserted through a tiny incision at the belly button. The surgeon uses specialized surgical instruments inserted through this incision and two or three additional small incisions in the abdomen to remove the fibroids.
Hysteroscopic myomectomy is a procedure where some fibroids are removed through the vagina using a surgical instrument called a hysteroscope - a thin, telescope-like instrument inserted through the cervix and into the uterus.

I had the myomectomy done years ago to remove a fibroid I had that was on the outside of the uterus on a stem. It was bothering the circulation to my leg. :-( But the doctor left the others that were in my uterus because they were not bothering me and they were small. Also, he said he did not want to perform surgery on my uterus because I wanted to have children and surgery could make my uterus weak and cause infertility or I might be unable to carry a baby. Little did we know, huh? damned if you do and damned if you dont.

Was very happy with Bachelor. Told DH that if he didn't pick Tessa, I would never watch the show again. I really thought he would pick Belvin...can usually tell with the last dates...the way they kiss. So, DH and I paid close attention. Everything led to him picking Belvin, how wrong we were. I was really upset with him though for telling both girls he loved them. I hope things work out for he and Tessa.
Ya, I heard that Ryan and Trista were expecting. They were my absolute favorite couple who have ever been on :D

Wanna- YOu are so devoted to your work. It is easy to just stay home, when that is what you had planned. However, when babies come around you will be glad you worked those few extra days. As teachers we don't have maternity leave either. FOrtunately my dd was born in April, so I took the rest of the year off. I had 18 weeks with her before she saw her first babysitter. That was really hard.
I am so excited that you are having both a boy and a girl. I am sure you will have so much fun:)
I do need to warn you though, you should not be painting this weekend. Due to the chemicals in the paint, fumes and all, pregnant women are to be nowhere around that. We had just bought a house when I found out I was pg. Of course the whole thing needed painted, so I just had to go bye-bye while dh did that. I was not about to risk anything.
And...about my neighbor...I wish I were exaggerating even the slightest, but I am not. She is a total b**ch. However, she got me my teaching job, so I feel like I have to be nice...at least for a while. Even her husband makes remarks to her, in front of everyone, about how bossy she is. He said something the other day about her always telling people how to do things, and she better learn how to keep her mouth shut.
I had never heard of the expecting mother to tell the people what they wanted for a shower gift until I moved to Texas. It is very common here...at least in this area. Usually all the hostesses go together and get the stroller, play pen, rocking chair...etc. Usually a couple hundred dollars!!

Fee- You so sound like me. Worried about every little twinge. However, I am smarter than your doctor. I know you were just trying to get another U/S. Whatever it takes. HAHAHA

Jenn- don't start getting down now. You have done so good this cycle. Just stay positive. Remember, these mean ol' hormones sure do mess with us and our bodies. You will know soon enough...when do you test?

Well, I was doing good on my Lupron shots until last night :? I got the needle half way in my leg and it just got stuck. I thought I was going to have to pull it out and start all over. However, I just sat there a minute (needle sticking out and all), regrouped, and then pushed super hard to get it through. However, now I don't want to do it again tonight:( Wish me luck.

Hey girls- still waiting for the nurse to call and tell me whether or not to start patches and pills, and she will tell me how many froze.

Robbo- I did the lupron in my tummy. Do you have to do it in the leg? I just put an ice cube on my tummy and then when it was numb pinched the skin and put it in. Never felt a thing!

Hi girls - you are such a good support. I am on a real downer - just got up. I am feeling so very negative at the moment - I am worried that these stupid AF inducing drugs aren't working. I am sick of my dr doling out drugs to me like they are lollipops with hardly any explanation. When I took them with another dr I had to take them for 10 days before AF came, Dr D just prescribed them for 5 days. Now I wish I had questioned him - I always have this blind faith and then start worrying afterwards.

Don't feel like it's coming at all - just feel in a horrible mood. Sorry for the rant girls.

Wanna - I am so pleased for you that you have a lively boy and girl -great news.

Patie - glad to hear from you again -we missed you.

OK I have to lift myself from the doldrums - it's 8am and a sunny morning so I am going for a walk. Poor DH - I've got to try and be nice - I'm not sure how he puts up with me sometimes.

Hope you are feeling better today Angie! I am jigging for your AF to come on already!

I had to do an HCG booster last night, and start the patches and pills for estrogen. I don't know why but doing that makes me think negatively.
AND...
I am also ticked off because I won't know if any embryos were frozen until Tuesday. They are closed until then. When I asked yesterday it wasn't in my file yet so the nurse was going to call and let me know when she called me with my bloodwork results. She said the lab hadn't called her back yet when I talked to her. Don't they think I want to know how they are doing? I don't understand their embryo update system! You have to practically beg them for info on your embryos! On my first cycle I had to wait until the day of transfer to even find out if any fertilized and how they were doing. AHHHH!!! Frustration!!

...and to add to it all I don't feel good today...and the out-laws are here, maybe that has something to do with it. They are driving me crazy!!!

Jenn- Stay positive, think only good things. Your little "babies" are snuggling in for the next 8 1/2 months.
Sorry about the out-laws, how long are they here for.
Clinics always frustrate me. They don't seem to worried about us and our babies, but if it were them they sure would want to know. Part of the problem is we are out of control on the situation. This is a time when we really have to practice patience.

Well, some good news- the out-laws packed up and left! Yep, we were all sitting around and FIL just said "well, I think we'll pack up and go" MIL was a little shocked but they packed up and left. Weirdos. They always leave earlier than planned. Last time they up and left at like 4 am.

I just don't get some people.

Oh Jenn - totally understand your frustration about wanting to know more about the embies - How can we be expected to merrily get on with our days when waitng for a embie transfer.

This whole process sucks - sorry girls. My mood is still bad - I am convinced he has told me the wrong dose of Primulut which means I have popped 5 days worth of hormones for nothing. I have just left a message for clinic - I don't care it is a Sunday.

I am ready to give up IVF - I really am. Have been having meltdowns most of weekend. Poor DH doesn't know what to say. The thought of going back into the scanning room for bad news after bad news - I just can't do it anymore. I've had too many follicles, not enough follicles, a fibroid coming up from nowhere which had to go, lining taking forever to thicken - I don't think I can do it any more. I don't think I even want kids that bad enough to go thru this bullsh*t anymore.

Sorry - well I guess this is the place to rant -this must be one my finest so far .... :(

Angie--No need to apologize. You know that rants are always welcome here. I'm so sorry. It just truly sucks that you're having so much trouble. I wish there was something I could say that would make it all better. Life is unfair.
