Hi Kt,its all a bit of a nightmare trying to decide which clinic to go to isn't it.
I am just about to start my 2 go an IVF and am now at ARGC (first attempt at Holly House )
I find them extremely thorough ,although expensive and the staff are friendly and efficient.I cannot comment on UCH although I am sure some of the girls here will be able to advise.I also think location is important as you will have to make the journey frequently.
Good luck inn your decision and this site has such a wealth of knowledge.I am sure you will find it helpful,
Regard Magnus
Hi there, I am at UCH and have found them thoroughly effecient and so lovely and caring, which is so important I think. Again, they are expensive but worth it for peace of mind. The nurses are all lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. They never seem to get fed up with constant questions or callbacks!
I'm currently at Hammersmith - about to launch into second cycle but considering a change.
Does anyone know if there are waiting times at UCH?
How expensive is it - for basic IVF package - or ICSI?

Going for Donor Eggs at Shady Grove, US
Tough choices when all we want to know is where should we go to make it work. Cannot comment on UCH.
I did 3 Fresh IVF cycles at Hammersmith Hospital where I was referred by my gp. Lovely. They tried quite a few different things for us - long protocol and short protocol. Tubal surgery as well as IVF. Day 2 transfer and Day 5/6 transfer too. 3 back as well as 2 back. But you see very little of the consultant when you are in cycle and they tend to follow set protocols especially if you do not push them.
We have now moved as we felt that we had run out of options at Hammersmith. We have moved to ARGC. It is seriously expensive. I could have about 3 cycles at Hammesmith for the same amount of money.
Why are we going there? Best stats for the whole country. Personal cycle rather than an 'off the shelf' protocol. All scans done by consultants. Daily monitoring to get trigger right & drugs change daily during stimmies too. Have seen many girls get a +ve there after repeated -ves elsewhere. I can have auto immune testing done which was not avaialble at Hammersmith. I can have PGD testing of embryos also.
You do need to be prepared to hand over your credit card and life at the door. They always call back when they say but you can have long waits even for bloods/scans. Plus they want you on standby for two lots of tests everyday towards the end of stimmies. Plus they check your FSH at the start of every month and will only allow you to start if low so some girls get tired of the waiting. I can only describe it as intense and I have only got through all the testing so far.
For me I feel that if ARGC cannot get me pregnant then it will not happen anywhere. For me I had to go there to get closure otherwise I will regret it always.
Hope that this is of some help. At the end of the day you have to go with your gut.
Can i just say that sorry you have to go through all of this rollercoaster. I can not comment on UCH but i did go to ARGC and i can rate them very highly. They are very expensive on time and money and when doing stims you will have to have blood tests everyday to start and 2x a day in second week . The blood tests do add up. As does the immune testing and drugs if you need to have them. If you have immune isssues then ARGC would definanately be the plave rather than UCH in my opinion.
I left ARGC not due to the care but due to the cost and time factor and went to Fertility Academy which is run by a man who has just set up his own clinic but used to work as a consultant at ARGC for 5 years. he works the sme way as ARGC and will do all immune testing etc but does not do blood tests everyday or less you need them so for me it was less advasive plus you see him everytime not different drs everytime you go for a scan so your treatment is very peronal to you. He is lovely an dhas been able to work on his magic and got me BFP this is my 6th attempt!!!!
If yiu want any more info on him please Pm me and I will gve you his details. His stats have not been published yet.but his stats for under 35 is about 65%
All the very best in your TX
