Thanks Sam, You are right, this is better for us in the long run. The best thing is I will be able to stay home with the babies for as long as I want and not have to worry financially. I am glad the move will be sooner than later. I'm still very mobile and at the rate the twins are growing now, who knows how easy I'll be able to get around in a of couple months. And I can't imagine the nightmare of moving with 2 infants would be. Doing the Job change now is for the best too. If DH changes jobs after the babies are born the COBRA rate would be around $1000. It will be a big relief when all this is overwith.
Wow, you are going for another one soon. That is wonderful. Your children will love having a sibling so close in age. You will be done with diapers sooner than later too. I wish you luck, hopefully you will get BFP the the first try again.

Lola - We've decided not to find out the sex, so it will be a surprise August baby How are the twins? I hope you're doing well.

Sam - Sounds like you and Sydney are doing great - congrat's again! It's impressive that you're thinking of making another go of it - that's great also! Keep us posted, I wasn't sure how long the RE would say to wait, but because of my age, our RE said if we want to try for #2 not to wait more than 3-4 months after this little one joins us. That seemed really fast to me, but I guess it's okay, huh? And thanks for the info on the c-section. I think I'm finally getting used to the idea.

Mia - Sorry to hear about your ups and downs, but it seems like you're facing things with a great attitude. I can't wait until you get your 20-week scan. That's a great one.


Wannababy - I've been thinking about you since we're so close and hoping you're doing well. Welcome to the 3rd tri - it's great to have things coming along, but sometimes I still feel like I need more time to get ready

Hello everyone,
wow, our board really has been quiet for a while. I hope it only means good news. I just had my babyshower this weekend and it was a big party. My girlfriends did such a good job! We got so much stuff! It took me 3 days to organize everything. The baby room is almost ready now. Everything is pink and blue.
I went for my dr. appointment and they told me I may deliver around 34-35 weeks, so I only have a month to go!!! That 30 week mark really hit me! I cannot believe the time is almost here. I will have to have a C-section, since I have one low lying placenta. The babies are over 3 pounds each right now and by then they should be around 5.
How is everybody else?

Suzhan, I really admire you waiting with the gender, I could not do it, I had to know right away!

Mia - I hope you are doing better now! Have you moved yet? I would not want to move either, but think of the future, it is for the better!

Hello everyone! It's been quiet here, sounds like everyone is doing well though. We finally had our anatomy US. We are having twin BOYS! I really thought I was going to have girl/boy twins. The more I think about "the boys" the more excited I am about them being the same gender, I think their bond with each other will be just that much more special. My Ob bumped up my US appt. a few days because I had some spotting and wanted the Peri. to check my cervix asap. Fortunately it is fine and everything seems normal. The twins are the same size and are measuring right where they should be. they both appear to have all their fingers and toes, but baby A kept one hand in a fist and only opened it for a second so we couldn't count his digits. Baby B was hiding one hand behind his head. I have another US in a month, hopefully we will see those other fingers then. I was so amazed to see what perfect little humans they are. We even got a video of the whole US, it's like my most prized possesion right now.

More good news. We found a house to rent. It's in a great neighborhood (our old neighborhood actually) with many shops, restaurants, 2 parks, a library, a huge multigenerational center. We are really looking forward to being there again. The rent is great and the landlord seems really easygoing with everything we want to do. I just can't wait to get the move done with.

Lola, wow just 1 more month. Time flies. It's so exciting!

Suzhan, Good going on waiting to find out the gender. My sis is also waiting with her twins. I just didn't have the patience. I can't wait to hear about it when your baby is born.

well...i'm writing from my hospital bed....my hospital has wireless internet and I was able to get on from my laptop. Unfortunately, I started bleeding this morning due to the placenta previa and apparently some early braxton-hicks contractions (which I didn't even know were contractions until my doctor explained it this morning at the hospital....)

The good news is that the baby is fine so they just want me to stay a couple of days to be sure everything stays that way. Hopefully, if all goes well I'll go home on Monday and then have to stay on bed rest for two weeks at home. At least I get to take a shower every day

If I bleed again, though, I have to stay in the hospital until delivery So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Mia ---- congratulations on your twin boys! How exciting! You will get to dress them the same! How cute! My friend had twin boys and they are a lot of fun. I am glad you have found a nice house to rent and everything looks so great!

Suzhan ---- what a scare! Good to hear that all is well now. Just take it very easy from now on and rest as much as you can. Bedrest can be neverending, but it is totally worth it! I have a low lying placenta, so I may start bleeding early too, but nothing so far.... Good luck with everything and take a good care of yourself!

Thanks Lola, I am very happy to know what they are now. Now I know I only need to look at things for boys. I always thought girls had the cutest clothing and things. But now that I really look for boy things I can see that they have some pretty cool stuff for them too.

Mia- Boys clothes have come so far. You will just love them. Boys love there mamma's. My baby girl is already so in love with my husband that I get a bit jealous and she is only five weeks old. Your boys will be smitten with youand there is no better fealing. Congrats on your house as well. Everything is falling in place

Suzhan- I bet you were scared. Remember how resilant babies are. I hope you are taking it easy. I remember thinking that bed rest would be my worst thing (I hated it during the IVF process) and then I hit 32 weeks. I was secretly praying for my doctor to give me bed rest because I was so miserable and uncomfortable. Anyhow, best of luck!!!

Lola- you are just around the corner! YEAH for your little ones. What a fun nursary to decorate.

Remember girls....C-Sections are a walk in the park. I actually think they are easier in many senses. Your babies are also born with a perfectly round head!!!

Sydney is doing great...she just gave us her first non-gas smile. She is a great sleeper and I think it is all easier than I thought. It is so much fun. I love showing her off.

Let me know if there is any advice I can give you all just going through it. My one piece is steal as much stuff from the hospital as possible. They have the best stuff (hats, pacifier's, onses, pads, disposable underwear, etc. Also, use their breast pump because they will give you bottles to use with it that you can take home and it is worth about $50.00.

How's everyone doing? Hope things are good for everyone. I have been feeling the babies bump around this past week quite a lot. At 18 weeks they still felt like fluttering and tiny pops, now I can feel them lightly kicking and rolling around. Suddenly this week my legs are feeling really tired when I stand and when I lay down I have to lay on my left side. If I'm on my back or my right side I feel uncomfortable. Each day everything in my chest seems to feel a little more squished. At 5'1", I don't have much space in my torso. The babies must have grown a lot this past week because there's a big difference in the way I feel. I look like I'm 6 mos PG already. It feels more real than ever
Well, we got the house to rent. We move in July 1st. I'm glad to know we have a plan now. Hopefully I will still be able to get around ok. Fortunately I don't have to change my OB. DH has decided to not change jobs. He went in for 2 days of training and decided it's not for him. So I decided to stick with my standby OB since I feel so much better with them.

Suzhan, Lola how are you feeling?

Sam, You are probably right, especially with a dad like theirs. My DH is a mama's boy and they will probably be protective of me as DH is. It's true boys clothes have come far. I was even thinking I might design my own line of baby clothes with super cute and hip clothes for little boys.

Mia --- it is so good to hear that you have everything solved and your husband is staying at his job. I started feeling the babies move at 18 weeks as well. That's when we found out the genders too. Do you have names yet?

Sam --- I will be asking you all sorts of guestions soon. The doctors are giving me only 4-5 more weeks. I am getting scared! Thanks for letting us know about the c-section, does it hurt a lot afterwards? I am scared I won't be able to take care of the babies if it hurts too much...

I just got back from the dr. appointment and the girl's amniotic fluid is really low, so they put me on bedrest until Tuesday, when I go for my next appointment. I can only get up the the restroom, shower and brush my teeth. What a bummer, but I am glad I have finished everything for the babies, washed all their clothes, packed everything for the hospital so if anything happens, I am ready. I hope the fluid get's back up by Tuesday. We were planning to take the girls that did my babyshower out to dinner on Wednesday. But the babies come first, of course. I feel so heavy and I have already gained over 50 pounds! My feet are very swollen and I retain a lot of water. Uff. But I know it is all worth it!

The c-section does not hurt too much afterwards. Stairs were a pain and laughing, caughing and esp sneezing were painful. The worst pain was the few days afterwards but I was in the hospital. I know you may be anxious to get home but stay in the hospital as long as possible. I got an extra day and it is helpful. The nurses are great and you can catch up on your sleep and have one more day to build up strength fromt he surgery. I also took the pain meds and that helped. I was going on walks about five days afterwards and I still feel that it is no less painfull than a vaginal birth just in different spots. I will look forward to having a c-section compared to vaginal birth the next time if that means anything.

Good luck on bed rest and take care of those kiddo's. They need a healthy mom!!

Hi all....I'm finally back from the hospital. My post before was too optimistic. I bled rather heavily with a large clot (sorry if tmi) the next day and had to stay in the hospital without getting from bed for several more days. Finally, the bleeding stopped and I was allowed to go home a few days later with a hospital bed that I'm basically in for the next 2 months (assuming we make it that far.) This has been quite a scary ordeal but I'm also stressing greatly about laying in bed for two months. I know it sounds nice, but after just over a week, I ache terribly from being in bed. I continue to have minimal brown spotting every day (which they say is okay) but I'm petrified of a new major bleeding episode, which may make it necessary to delivery the baby early by c-section on an emergency basis. Basically, they gave me two steroid shots in the hospital to speed up the baby's lung development in case that happens, but I pray to make to at least week 35-36, ideally week 37-38! Anyway, that's the latest on my ongoing placenta previa saga.....

Lola - I read your post about the little girl and her low fluid levels. I'm hoping today's appointment went well and that the levels were back up. Please let us know - I'm thinking of you! And you're so smart to have everything all done early - I really wish I'd have been better prepared. I'm basically stuck trying to do everything online and DH and my Mom are setting up the room. You were smart!

Mia - Congrat's on two baby boys! You must be thrilled. Isn't that anatomy scan amazing - it was my favorite one. It's great that you can already feel them moving - isn't it awesome! Lately, my little one has taken to pushing his or her legs up inside my rib cage - ouchies! Best of luck with your move, too.

Sam - thanks for the ongoing reassurance on the c-section - it really helps!

I am so sorry to hear about everything. That must be scary. I know bed rest is horrible but there is an end to it. Have lots of friends over and start scrapbooking or Knitting, that can help time fly. A hospital bed must be much more comfortable since it can move. It will all be worth it and soon (but not too soon) this will be a story you will be telling your kiddos on mothers day in hopes to get a really good present.

If it helps, some friends of ours just went through something similiar. She delivered twins before 30 weeks. They were tiny around 2 and 3 punds. Granted the babies were in the hosipital awhile but there are now 7 pounds, home and appear healthy. They are coming over on Thursday for dinner with their baby girls. Every day is a day more developed so hold on.

Do you want me to ask for advice? She was also on bed rest for 4 months. Let me know and I can ask them about the babies or bedrest.
