Em- Actually I didn't find the c-section to bad at all. I got out of bed as soon as the they turned off the epidural. They brought me a wheelchair to take me to the NICU and I told them no, I can walk. The nurses thought I was nuts but I think walking really early helped me a lot. There was another girl who delivered the same day whose husband was still taking her to the NICU in a wheelchair 4 days after her c-section! I don't know how she thought she was going to manage once she got home.

I took the pain pills regularly and haven't had much problems with pain at all. The only issue has been that I can't drive for 2 weeks after the c-section. So my mother or husband had to drive me back and forth to the hospital to see the babies. It would be hard if I didn't have them to help.

My stomach is starting to get back to normal size. I do have all this loose skin in my lower abdomen. A friend told me it takes a long time for the skin to finally snap back after twins. She called it the "twin skin". DH and I are going to Florida at the end of August, so hopefully it will be better by then.

Here is a picture I took of the boys yesterday. Jeremy, on the left, is my sleepy boy and doesn't like to open his eyes for photos. As you can see, they are looking so much alike as Nicholas has put on weight.

Hope everyone is having a great Memerial Day weekend! We are heading out of town again in a few hours but I had to catch up before I fell too far behind! :D

Quita~ Glad things are well with you so far. Making it past that fist 12 weeks felt so good. It's one milestone we can check off and look forward to the next. You are a couple inches shorter than me but at 5'2" I can tell you that now that my babies have started to grow there is nowhere to go but staright out. I feel so full all the time and I can't imagine what I will look like in the end but somehow we just manage. Good luck!

Di~ The babies seem to be good sized! Congrats! What a great feeling to know they are almost where they need to be. You're so close to meeting them now that I bet you are just getting so excited! I hope your last few weeks are good ones for you.

Laura~ Those boys are precious!!!!! They look so much alike. It must be hard to tell them apart. Congrats again. They look like angels next to one another. The thought of brothers just makes ya smile doesn't it!

Kim~ Tick-tock, tick-tock! I bet you are also getting so excited. Can't wait for the details and to see some pics. It's so crazy that in a few weeks all the IVF will be so far behind you and you'll have all that effort sleeping peacefully together. One great thing about IVF is that I doubt many of us would of had twins w/o it even if we could get pg naturally. Twice blessed for sure.

Em~ I think your name is sweet. It's hard to pick names but it's even harder when everyone hates it. DH and I both, for whatever reason, love the name Francesca but we dread a nickname Fran. I also love dh's name, Bodie but we are afraid it would be confusing. We have time but I really want to fall in love with a name and we just haven't yet. Can't wait to hear the names we all have picked out.

Started tearing apart the guest room today. It was kind of sad because our guest room was so well decorated. It's the only room I rarely have to do much cleaning in and it was one of my favorite rooms. It's all for a good cause but it makes me feel so restless with a space unfinished. I start their mural next week so I will post pics. Hopefully it will turn out like it is in my head. I want them to love their space and feel like we made it so special for them. AFter over 10 years in the decorating business I'm still nervous about starting my own. Go figure!

Have a great weekend everyone and take care.

Kimberly--good luck with the nursery! What kind of mural are you going to paint? I can't wait to see photos! Just make sure to take it easy on yourself as you work...it's amazing how tired your body can get... Oh, your thoughts on names made me want to chime in....My DH is named Greg, and he SOOOO wants to name a boy (if we even have one) after himself, Gregory. I keep teasing him that he must really like himself to name another human being after him! But, I was seriously thinking--twins have enough "identity" issues to deal with, that I didn't think it would be a good idea to name a son after dad. ANy thoughts, anyone? I like the name Gregory, but I guess I just think about all the things these twins will have to "share"....should we even make this kiddo also share a name with his dad? :? (Not to mention, these kids are going to have a b-day VERY close to mommy's--June 22nd).

Carolyn--I saw that you're going to go through another cycle this summer. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! :)

Hope everyone else is well...

Laura Lou,
Congratulations ! Jeremy and Nicholas are adorable! I'm glad you are doing so well and also glad to hear that the c-section wasn't too bad as i'm sure i will have a c-section too!

The triplets are doing great so far ( i know it's been a while since i posted). I'm 15 wks right now and we find out in 4 weeks what the genders are. I registered yesterday for my shower as my family has decided to give me a shower before i hit 24 wks (the perinatologist told me that the LATEST he'll put me out on bed rest is 24 wks). I'm just starting to look pregnant and have gained 6 pounds so far.

Kholtan - i can't wait to find out what you are having! your appt. is on the 29th right? Keep me posted !

I am sure later on it will feel a bit uncomfootable but at the moment I am dying to go into Mothercare and say " a maternity bra please - give me the biggest thing you've got!" At the moment I'm still in my 32B althoughI think I am filling rather well! LOL

Laura,

Your boys are so handsome! I know you must be overjoyed to have them home. I hope you have been able to get some rest in for your self! Please keep us posted on how things are and give those adorable boys and hug from me!

Today I am going for another ultrasound. I am hoping that they say my placenta has risen as at the last ultrasound they had some concern because it was laying low. I am happy to see my boys again! Please wish me luck!

Hope everyone and their baby bellies are doing well, and I will check in later on everyone!

I go for my two post c-section dr's appt today. I am hoping she will let me start exercising again. I was never a big work-out person, but after months of being stuck on the couch, I am dying to do something physical.

The boys are doing well. Jeremy has gotten so big! Nicholas had some problems with the formula we were using to supplement. After several tries, I think we found something he can tolerate and even likes. I am hoping he will start to put on lots of weight like his brother now.

I am doing well. I really don't have any more pain from the incision. I gained 47 lbs during my pregnancy. I am now just 12 lbs from my prepregnancy weight. Not too bad for just 2 weeks since I delivered.

When I first brought the boys home, all they did was eat and sleep. In fact, it was hard to wake them up to eat. Now that they have gotten bigger/older, they are starting to have fussy times. They take after their daddy and are night owls. They cry and fuss from about 9:00 pm to midnite. I keep reminding myself it is a good thing that they now have enough extra energy to fuss.

If you haven't bought bouncie seats, you need to get two. They are lifesavers. I put the boys in their seats, turn the vibrate on and they are happy for quite a while. I actually read several chapters in my book last night while they were occupied in their seats.

Lauralou--I love the photo updates. they are precious! Thanks for the advice about the bouncy seats. I have two, but we still have to put them together. Question for ya--you mentioned you're supplementing with formula with one of the boys. Are they both on breastmilk? If so, how's that going? Do you have to supplement with both boys? I'd love some advice! If you can't tell, I'm soooo anxious about breastfeeding. By the way, you are doing SUPERB in dropping your weight! wow! I've gained about 45 pounds so far, and I hope to drop the weight quickly too. We'll see how that goes....

How's everyone else doing? Kholtan? Em?

I went for a checkup today, and I'm actually less effaced than last week (just 40%) and still not dilated. So, I'm very happy about that! It looks like the resting is helping. I also had an NST and that went fine as well. Although, baby A didn't really want to move very much, so it took a while to complete the test.

Have a good day gals!

Thank you everyone for the kinds words about my boys! I am so proud of them. Sometimes I will hold both of them and can't believe they are really mine. After trying for so long, it is truly a miracle to hold them in my arms.

Kim- I am glad to hear that the resting is helping. If you can keep them in a few more weeks, that would be great!

Yes, we are supplementing both of them with formula. I guess it is a common practice with small babies to make sure they get enough to eat so they will gain weight. It also means that my mother and husband can help feed them. With two premies, exclusive breastfeeding would mean I never get more than 2 hrs of sleep at a time. I really couldn't function like that, but I know some people do it. They must be super moms!

Boomer- I am glad to hear your triplets are doing well. It is good you are having your shower early. My shower was only two weeks before I delivered. I was getting nervous that the boys would be attending the baby shower with me!

No luck with exercising yet. The doctor said another month. I guess if you do too much, the incision can open internally and you can get a hernia. Definitely don't want that! So just walks for now. Not that I really have the time or energy to do much more than that anyway.

I can't wait to see who delivers next. If you don't have a laptop to bring to the hospital, you must have your husbands post an update when you deliver. I am so anxious to see what everyone's babies look like.

Lauralou--thanks for the info! I guess I'll have to wait and see how things go when my kiddos are here. sorry the doc won't let you exercise yet, but I've always heard around 6 weeks for c-sections. I know what you mean, though....the earlier you can start exercising (even if it's real light), you'll start feeling more "normal". Just keep walking. It'll do wonders!

Hi guys,

Well it was my birthday on monday and unfortunately I wound up back in hospital and was only released yesterday afternoon. I felt unwell all night sunday and then woke up at 4am monday morning with a severe headache and took my bp which was high. Then I started to vomit and we rang the midwife who said to come straight in. I had a temperature aswell. They kept me in but everything seemed to settle down and they let me go after I had a scan to check the bubs yesterday. Today I have woken up with very swollen glands in my neck and sore ears and throat, so I think I must have some sort of infection going on. I see my doc tomorrow and shall see what he says.

But the good news is that the bubs are well. Twin 1 is 2.3kg (5lb) and twin 2 is 2.1kg (4lb 11Oz) so good weights. Twin 2 used to be the biggest and has slowed down alot but I don't think its a problem. I was given some steriod injections in hospital to get their lungs ready just in case so they should be fine if they come tomorrow.

Sorry that this is a real "me" post but I wanted to catch up with all your news but just too tired to write personals.

Laura - the boys are beautiful!

Well hello to all you busy mommies! Sounds like everyone is doing so well! Glad to read all cheer and great check-ups!

Laura~ I had to show DH the photo of your boys! They are just precious! I love the little hand touching his brother as if to just be happy to be together. They really are beautiful. Made my DH grin ear to ear. Kudos on the baby weight as well! That's impressive! With only 12 lbs. to go you should be back to normal in no time. I bet you'll even be thinner at that rate. Good Job! Do you think they will eventually be on just breastmilk? It's just great news that they are healthy and gaining weight but I was just curious. Super happy for you!

Kim~ That is such great news that the resting is doing it's job. I know you're probably ready but it's only a matter of weeks now! I bet you had a great sigh of relief when your OB gave you the good news. Can't wait to see your babies. Keep cookin'! The Nursery is a mural I'm taking from some art I saw on www.babygoesvintage.com. It's going to be a vintage farm theme with the fields in the background and animals and their babies playing with the children. IT's universal and fits a boy and girl nursery. Plus DH's grew up on a farm and his dad is a farmer and I grew up on a ranch in Montana and my family is still big into farming and ranching so it tells a history in a way. It will all be in vintage old colors and the cribs are vintage iron looking. We'll see if it turns out like it is in my head.

Boomer~ Sounds like you are doing great as well! Do you have any guesses as to what they are? I'm guessing two girls one boy! You are smart to get your registry underway. I need to go do it but we have been so busy and just got back into town last night again. Can't put it off much longer so I better follow your lead! Take care of those three and keep us posted. Maybe we should change the name of the thread to Doube and Triple trouble! :D

Erin~ how was your appointment?? Are they getting big? I know how you feel when you say it's just nice to see them. That's how I feel. I could watch the u/s machine all day if they let me.

Quita~ You crack me up! I'm hoping for the X large nursing bra myself but I too am a 32B and that's up a cup size from normal! I have put on a total of 13 lbs. now and boy can I tell! I went from itty bitty to a round belly in just a few weeks. IT's safe to say that my fears about not growing enough are gone! They told me today they expect another 25 lbs. or so! EEEEEKS!!! Where will it go???? Guess we'll wait and see! Hope you're still doing great!

Well we had our appoinment today and all is well. Our boy is stubborn and 14 oz. while the girl is a wiggle worm and 13oz. We got to spend two hours with them and they are visions of health so far so we were soooooo happy about that. Nothing to scare us and my lighter work days seem to be really helping my contractions. The cervix is still the same and all looked great. I have a gained the wopping 13 lbs. now which was scary to see on a scale but at least they are healthy and right on target. I'm sad it will be a month or two before we see them again. Although the baby kicks should keep me happy in the mean time.

Hope everyone has a great night. Take care and send those babies a big hug from me!

Em--sorry to hear about the trip to the hospital! That must have been scary! I'm glad the babies are okay, though. They're weights are TERRIFIC! Good for you! My baby B used to be the bigger one too...it's funny how they've "switched" sizes! :) Take care of yourself, and hopfeully, the doctor can help you fight off this bug quickly. Now that you've had the steroid shot, your babies' lungs will be good to go. No worries there.

Kimberly--Your nursery sounds really neat! You'll have to post pics once you're finished. I admire people who are artistically talented! I have no talent in that area. :? I'm glad your u/s went well too! Isn't it so reassuring to see them in there? Enjoy the scans now...as they get bigger it's really hard to see ANYTHING! My scans now are so hard to get a handle on. The tech says all's well, but they're just too big for me and DH to tell what things are. Good for you on your own weight. I've crossed the 40 pound threshold...never thought I'd see such high numbers on a scale!

I hope everyone else is well!
