Ghost,

Hiya :D I dont know if u remember me, but my first ivf was a bfn as my embies were also low grading, grade 2 (2cell) and grade 3 (2cell) on a day 3 transfer, if u remember, we only fertalized 2 out of our 12 eggs collected. This time we are going to fertalize more to give ourselves a better chance, im concerned about the cell divide as well as the grading, if there is anything i can do for next go to help my 'eggs' along please let me know too .....

Thanks for being here :)

Hello Becky, after many months.

I remember you but the details are hazy. What did you do with the other ten eggs? Were you at the clinic that does not freeze eggs?

It was a bold move to only fertilize two. I must agree with going for more than that this time.

I'm not sure you need better eggs. Among a good cohort of twelve, there's a good chance two eggs chosen at random won't succeed. It's pretty common for less than half to reach the blastocyst stage, and even that is no guarantee of success.

Hi Ghost,

Thanks for replying - yes i was at the clinic who wouldnt freeze eggs, and also wouldnt freeze less than grade 1 embryo's. Also they dont allow blastocyst here in Northern Ireland. There are only 2 clinics here, and neither of them allow it (summit to do with not enough knowledge or summit!!)
We are hoping for around the same amount of eggs this time around, altho we know we cant guarantee that, is it true that the lower my FSH, the better i will respond that month. Last time my FSH was 7.2 so im hoping to be lower this time or around the same.
We are thinking of fertalizing just 4-5 eggs and cross our fingers, ive cut out my alcohol intake, and caffiene, im eating more healthy and trying to lose some more weight (i've always struggled with my weight) we cant afford to have accupunture as well as pay for the treatment, so thats out.
But knowing that we are going for more eggs this time around makes me feel more confident, after all we did get 100% the last time, if we get that next time (no guarantee i know lol) we should get some quicker cell divides (fingers crossed)

Great to see your still checking in on us, thanks for that Ghost, and thanks as always, for your advise :D

We've been freezing eggs for 3 years and culturing blastocysts for much longer than that, so it strikes me oddly that you have access to no clinic that will do either. I'd think egg freezing would be popular there.

Anyway, I wish the best of luck to you, Becky. Your chances should be much improved with fertilizing 5 instead of 2. It's a shame the rest will be wasted. As you know, they are very expensive to come by.

PS: I'm not really here. I'm just the ghost of Ghost.

Hi. Ghost
I wanted to ask you, first I know its too early to take a home preg. test (I couldn't wait) It was a very faint positive. Should I be happy. I am on my 9th day since my tranfer. My doctor said we will take one on Sat. Is it possible or do I need to calm down
