Hello everyone good morning!

Post by adamsoa »

I have to talk to someone! I got such a surprise this morning. I went for an ultrasound b/c I had a bad night of cramps and lower back pain over the holida yweekend and they said it is probably the second sack absorbing...anyway this second sack has looked empty for the last two ultrasounds and today I saw not only the first one which is growing with a heart but the second sack has a little shrimpie in it with a heart. i am so overwhelmed and thankful, I don;t know what to think....I have been so nervous, especially about my symtoms comign an going in terms of morning sickness and cramps...oh when, if ever, can we relax? Not until we deliver?

They couldn't see clearly the second sac until today!!

I am nine weeks! It looked empty b/c it was posterior in my uterus. I don;t quite understand it either but they finally saw it and ah eart. I am relieved. I went in there thinking my cramps wre because i lost one sac....I don't think I will relax either until my genetic counselling scan on June 20....

oh my goodness Adomosa....that is awesome news. I know you must be on a roller coaster right now. You know, I wouldn't be surprise if I'm told the same thing on my next visit because you could see the sac but because of the position of my uterus it was difficult to tell if there's a heartbeat. My bladder kept filling up and so the Tech was having a difficult time, plus she was fairly new. So this gives me a little that baby B may still be hanging around.

Hello - may i join in?? I'm so nervous of coming over to this side - its scary but at the same time exciting.... although do I qualify especially as my BFP was a natural miracle after 2 IVF attempts.

I was probaby about 4wks when I did the test, however a couple of days later I started to spot so they sent down to the EPU to check all was ok. My HCG levels were 773 and 2100 but obviously I don't have a DPT but atleast I wasn't dreaming that it was a positive outcome on the HPT!
Had a scan last week as they were still concerned about spotting and saw sac but said to early for h/beat - they est. me to be about 5wks - have next scan next wednesday to see if there is a h/beat (last time we didn't have one unfortunately so hence being very anxious). The spotting /discharge (sorry Tmi) is still there so thats about 2 wks now!!

Other than that have no other symptons - bright as a button, no sore b@@bs and no m/sickness but I'm trying to keep my PMA PMA hence why I've decided to come over to the thread!!

Wells that enough from me, god I hope I haven't depressed you all  and will do my best to catch up on you all

Jackie

Welcome to the group Nimble! What a blessing you have after 2 IVF attempts!

Rikirees, I can't believe you have four beanies! I can't believe your odds that ALL 3 took and then that 1 split into 2. Truly a blessing!

listen to my luck. a girl in my class has something called fifth's disease. it is a risk to a pregnant woman primarily in their first trimester. apparently there is a chance that i've been exposed before, but if not there is a chance of miscarriage or anemia with the baby - which i guess is dangerous. i had a blood test this morning and it'll take 1-3 days to see if the exposure is there and if it's old or acute. i am freaked and a little pissed at my job right now. it's also the last week and a half of school and it is really bad timing to not be there. i never miss work and this just feels awful all around. good thing for all of you today that you are virtual friends and not live so you don't have to risk being infected by me.

What did your doctor say?It must be a pretty remote chance, i would think. I hope everything checks out OK...try to rest and not upset yourself...

the disease is also called "slapped-cheek" b/c it manifests as a rash that looks like cheek that has been slapped. it can also cause joint pain. or fun fun, it can cause no symptoms, just directly harm the fetus. it is nothing to worry about in the general population - just pregnant women and in my line of work i guess it comes up from time to time.

doctor says we need to wait and see if i've been exposed acutely or if i am immune b/c i've already been exposed. blood test will tell in a few days. more fun waiting. if it's a new exposure then there is a 10% chance of miscarriage on top of what i already have to worry about.

sorry to just talk about me, but what are the f#@*ing chances.

Wannabeone,
Try not to worry about the Fifth's Disease. I am a nurse and I hear so many stories of other nurses who have been exposed to TB, radiation, chicken pox, etc... before they knew they were pregnant and all had healthy pregnancies. The chance of your exposure is very rare; there is nothing you can do about it b/c you didn't know.

Well I had my ultrasound today... they were surprised I was there b/c "it is very early" although they are the ones who schleduled me for today. They saw only one sac (can't help but to be disappointed that I won't be having twins, which is such a SELFISH thought considering I'm lucky to even have one)- but they said there is still a chance that the other could possibly be seen by my next scan. All my worries are calmed, but I was told not to exercise or to lift weights b/c my ovaries are very swollen and I have multiple cysts- this is hard for me as I love to run and lift, but I'll do anything for a healthy baby!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats Stephanie - on the other board I post on one lady was told twins and then had to go back in 2 weeks just to make sure all was OK yeahhh they found triplets. and think of the other lady here she was told triplets just to find quads on her next scan. So since you are wishing for twins I hope and wish you see twins!!!!!! Best of luck.
