Hi everyone

Post by wishing&hoping »

I need some up lifting as today I am spotting when i go to the bathroom. my egg retrievel was the 21st of May and my transfer was the 26th . I transfered 2 grade 5 blastocysts. when my Dr was doing the transfer she said "you have such a narrow cervix". It hurt like hell. When i got home the cramps were horrible all day. Thats my first reason for being depressed. My second is today i am 6 days post transfer and now I am spotting light brown. I feel like my period is coming. I thought if your on progesterone you can't get your period? aren't I further along for implantaion bleeding? I am so confused and don't want to call the dr's office again as its a big production. I go for my blood work on Tuesday. This is my first IVF cycle

I haven't yet gotten pregnant throuh IVF yet. However, I know what my doctor's office says is that if you are spotting then it's not really a bad thing. They tell me to continue the prog. even if I was spotting. I think if you are spotting it's not a bad thing necessarily. W/ my first 2 IVF treatments, I pretty much got a full blown period--not even spotting. I was heavier than usual. After the first time I got a regular period about 3 days before the pregnancy test. Then the last time, I got a regular period the day before the pregnancy test. There are some people who can spot all throughout their pregnancies.

I know that it can be hard not to focus on the spotting, but try think postively. Spotting isn't always a bad sign. It could just be implantation spotting. Implantation can take place right around the time you would get your period. But it'll be much lighter.

I'm not a doctor but I think that when it's brown blood it usually indicates old blood????? So that should be okay--it's when it's bright red that you should worry.

Wishing you all the best!

Don't lose hope! I had a friend who did 7 rounds before her beautiful daughter and the last one - the one that worked is the only one she spotted. (Later than implantation would normally be as well.)

Also my clinic told me after the transfer not to worry unless I got bright red blood. (And even then it isn't a definate, but a really bad sign.)

Anyway, I don't think light brown means anything one way or the other.
