Hi Karen,
Thanks so much for the support. MY doc called today and asked when am i coming for the test, i said sat. She said that i was scheduled to take the test yesterday. She said no matter how much i try to avaoid it, i have to do it, as she needs to know anyway. If it is positive, she wants to make sure that hormone levels ae enough, and if negative, i should not be taking the hormones anymore(progesterone and estrogen). ...
so i guess i would have to go soon...
For you, i would suggest a blood test, as that confirms pregnancy. And that too after 14 days of the retreival. Thats what my RE said.

Good Luck, hope god seems our misery, and give us the good news....

Anne - I can relate in not wanting to go in for the blood test. I told my DH last night that I am not going to answer the phone when the office calls with the blood test result. It reminds me of college when I dreaded turning my exam over to see the grade.

I am now 7dp3dt and staying away from the HPTs. I finally took the OPK and HPTs out of my office and tucked them way away in my closet at home. If we are so blessed to get a BFP, I plan on peeing on a bunch of them to keep seeing the good news!

Kez - You already took a HPT? They are like crack - fight the urge and stay positive!

Hi Everyone,

I know Colleen I must be insane doing the test, yes your comparison to crack seems to be an appropriate one
I am on day 7pt, and I am going to wait until day 11 now before doing another one. One of the other ladies just posted she got a positive test and she did a hpt on day 11. I probably shouldn't because if I get a negative I am going to be distraught.

I dont know but this 2ww seems to be worse than the last time we did it. I dont know if its because everyone around me is having babies or if I just dont seem to want to go on about it to all my friends. I would hate for them to think I was getting obsessive ha ha.

Anyway you all take care and keep posting.
I'll try not to go insane

Hi Kerry -

Well, we got one week down and one week to go. I don't know if that excites me or creates a feeling of dread??! So while I have been 'good' and stayed away from those dreadful HPTs, I am constantly monitoring my body for symptoms. My chest has gotten progressively more sore - both on the nipples and from the sides. I got cramps last night on my upper thighs and lower back like AF is coming, but usually don't get them a week in advance. From EXTENSIVE reading of other posts, I have concluded that the symptoms mean absolutely nothing and that progesterone gums up the whole interpretation of any bodily symptoms.

Are you feeling any differently? Are you planning on holding off on the HPTs until your blood test? I did read one of the posts where a woman tested 6dpt and got a faint positive, but I just can bring myself to do the same when I am only on 8dpt3et. I don't know how strong I will be come next Tuesday or Wednesday. How many embies did they implant? Because of my age (32), I only could get 2 transferred and have four frozen.

Take care,

Colleen

Hi Colleen,

I have been weak with the hpt and got a negative result, I havent done one for2 days now and I'm going to wait until monday, we will be 11dpet by then and I have read someone else tested then and got a positive.

I agree about the symptoms. I have been having mild cramps for last few days but today they have increased and are very like my AF lower suprapubic cramps that show my Af is imminent, therefore I am feeling very low this afternoon and feel that all is lost. My boobs are sore too.

I had 2 embryos put back in, thats all they ever put back in over here in England unless special circumstances warrant more. They were my last 2 frozen, so if this doesn't work, we have to do ivf/icsi again, and we only have money for one more try, so lots of pressure.

I have been to see my friends baby today and he is beautiful, it did take my mind off myself for a while. My friends were very supportive too.
I feel very low this evening.
I hope we both get a positive result. I am going shopping with my husband tomorrow for a new eternity ring so that should cheer me up.

Take care
Kerry x keep smiling :)

Hi Kez01

Post by bluemoon »

I had my FET on Friday 3/16 and on Tuesday night I had really bad cramping. knew it was implantation cramps right away because I had the same thing a couple of days after my ET two years ago which produced my wonderful twins girls !!!

Sure enough, when I went for my blood test on Tuesday 3/27 it was POSITIVE!!!

SO I SAY ----- CRAMPS ARE A GOOD SIGN (as long as you have no bleeding) The severe cramps slowly died down a couple of days after they started but I still had some stomach discomfort/cramping. Also, I had breast soreness, frequent urination and fatigue. Try not to worry too much. Positive thinking is also very important.

Blessings for a BFP! :P

Hi,

thanks bluemoon for your words of encouragement, believe me I have really been trying to think positive but the cramps I am getting feel so strong at times, just like as if my AF was about to come and I just cant help but feel it hasn't worked again.

I just wish now that my Af would just come and I wouldn't have to suffer for another week nearly. My clinic just make us do a hpt and I have to wait until friday June 8th, last time I did start bleeding a few days before I was due to do my official test. I wish we got a blood test and then I wouldn't have to wait so long.

How are you getting on Colleen, have you given in and done a hpt yet. Have you still been getting the cramps.
I hope your feeliing well, Take care

Hi gbnut,

I really needed to hear that today, I have got a headache this morning which is also usually a sign that my AF is coming, I suffer with migraine too which I usually get when on my AF.

My cramps have not gone away and I just feel like I normally do when my period is coming. Your message has made me feel stronger.

I seem to be having good days when I feel positive and also very many bad days when I am certain it hasn't worked. I can't wait for this 2ww to be over. I am 10 days today and counting.

Thanks again so much and good luck with your pregnancy, I'm really happy for you.
Take care

Hi Kez-

Don't give up hope. I am now 12dp5dt. (17dp retrieval) As I told you I have been getting positive HPT but a couple of days ago I was really convinced AF was coming. It was around the time AF would be due normally. So much that I started wearing a pad and going to the bathroom to check TMI. But things still seem fine for me, so I think the AF symptoms happen either way. Good luck on your test!

Hi everyone,

I'm still here on day 10 and my breasts are sooo sore, and i'm still having Af type cramps. I'm trying to stay positive. Last time we did ivf my boobs were sore for a few days post transfer and then they didn't hurt and I only had cramps.

This time they feel like weights and a little part of me thinks this is good and I feel excited, yet everytime I go to the loo I am waiting to see my Af. I am thinking that this cycle is different as I am on oestrodial valerate tablets as well as the progesterone so that is why I am getting the sore breasts.

Anyway soon be day 11.
Take care everyone.

Hi Kerry -

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I flew back home to visit my parents for the weekend and didn't have access to this site. Which really was hard, because I find that this really does help! Anyway, I see from another thread that you tested today. I am sorry that it was negative, but that is definitely one of the risks of testing too soon....which I think it still is for us. Even though it has been said a ton of times on this site, it isn't over until the blood test. Of course I say that, but if I test, it will be on Wednesday, the day before the blood test.

I really don't have any words of advice on the symptoms and have researched it to death, only to come to the conclusion that progesterone symptoms are the same as pregnancy symptoms are the same as AF symptoms. And to muck it up even more, no two people have the same symptoms. For the last three days, I have had no symptoms except for tender boobs and I felt slightly nauseous this morning. I attributed the nauseau to having to go back to work on Monday

Have you planned anything for the day of your test results? I was talking with my DH last night about having a date planned for Thursday night...so it is something to look forward to - where we can celebrate :D or I can cry in public

Take care,

Colleen
