Heather yes my endo is active an dthe stims do make it worse but they get round it. I still make lots of follies we got 21 eggs at my retrival. Due to my endo being agresive and fast growing befor all my fresh cycles i have had a laperoscopy to remove some of my endo. Also the dr part of ivf also helps to quieten it down. All the very best with your tx and we look forward to hearing from you when you can.

If you have ay more questions please feel free to pm me.

Tanya – Still on cloud nine????

Mandeeq – isn’t the 2ww hard especially when there is nothing to give you an indication one way or the other. Stay strong and positive, you will get there.

Sophie – sorry you had a rough night, I hope last night was better. Glad your DH is looking after you, find a sunny spot and put your feet up for the day, you will start to feel better soon. Love and hugs.

Heather – Safe travels and I hope it all goes well – isn’t it the case that the guys usually win out in the struggle for laptop time….

Jenn and Pat – Hang in there just one more sleep to go !!!!!

This morning my DH was so sweet. We were lying there curled up in the morning and I assumed he had drifted off to sleep again, then out of the blue he said I’ll have to put together a box to go in the car…..what I said……We will need a blanket, and some water and a little peg to clip the belly button……. What I said (I had no idea of what he was talking about)…… well if we are heading to the hospital and the baby comes early and we have to stop on the way I want to make sure we have everything……
We live in a little town out of the city but it is still only 35 minutes to the hospital…… so I don’t think there will be a problem……but I didn’t have the heart to tell him, he was so sweet……he hasn’t said much about things over the last day or 2 so it was really lovely to have him come out with something so cute out of the blue….

Have a lovely day everyone

Sooooooooooo annoyed I just lost my whole post that I'd spent ages and ages writing! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Here's the general jist;

Huge congrats to Jenn and Tanya, that's sooooooooooo amazing for you both, I'm very happy for you.

Heather, I'm glad you're getting to go ahead, remember you don't need many follies, my 7 this time are much much better quality than the 16 last time. Enjoy your travels.

Sophie, sorry you've been feeling so ill but glad it's subsiding a bit, that pain in the night sounded awful. Nice to hear you're dog crazy too, my boy is lying at my feet just now crying for his dinner - he get's fed at 6pm every day but will cry for about half an hour before! If you're late with it he'll sit in front of you and beg!

Angela, you're not terrible at all about the sister situation. Everytime someone I know falls pregnant easily it's like a kick in the stomach. Once you're there though it won't matter, you'll just be so happy. Lots of luck for your test Tuesday.

Pat loads of luck for tomorrow.

Well tomorrow's a big day for me too. I went in yesterday and met with my embryologist. I was all on my own-some as DH had to work, DH and I had decided that if there were two or three really good ones I'd transfer yesterday but if there were 4 we'd go for blast. Well I kind of only expected the two as that's what we had last time out of 12 embies but he said 5 were great! I ran away and called DH and my mum (who is a Dr) and all three of us were in agreement that we should go for it. So I told him and off I went. It was really bizarre, and really scary but somehow quite freeing. I think the fact that it's a different protocol from last time is giving me hope. I have to call tomorrow and see how they're doing (the clinic was closed today). I really hope they're doing well. As long as we get 2 of them to blast I'll be happy. So all going well it's ET on Tuesday.

May I Join

Post by Babysoft »

Hello all, I hope it's okay for me to join!

I'm currently doing my 1st IVF cycle...I attempted one several months ago, but I was extremely stressed and cancelled on my own.

First let me give you my history...I have a daughter who is 11 years old. I've been married for 3 years and with my dh for about 7. We've been ttc all that time and all has failed. I was seeing a quack doctor for about 4 years who had me jumping through hoops with no explaination of what the cause of my infertility was/is...finally the last straw with him was when I attempted an IUI with him and he cut my cervic (my opening was extremely small already). Needless to say...I didn't get pregnant, but the next month the cut caused my cervix to heal shut and I couldn't have an AF cause of the blockage...I had an emergency dialation thru another clinic and finally found out the 2nd (closed cervix 1st) cause of my infertility...high fsh. Anyway to make a long story shorter...the doctor wouldn't perform ivf on me because he was too worried about his statistics to risk a failed ivf with me. So now I'm at another clinic that specializes in high fsh patients and I'm doing my cycle now.

Day 2 of AF had blood work and started estradiol
Day 3 fsh was & (great for me) and started taking injections of Lupron
On Monday...I'll begin taking Bravelle and Menopur
I have an ultrasound and blood scheduled for Wednesday.

Not really sure when egg retrieval will be...so thats what I'm concerned about does anyone have any idea?

Thanks for the help! And good-luck to everyone on this roller-coaster!

Thanks for all your support and kind words ladies. I'm feeling ok-ish, I'm hanging in there at the moment, just about. I went out and got a HPT this morning and it's been sooooooo tempting, it's been calling me all day, lol. But so far I've not given into it, so now I'm gonna have a nice long shower and go to bed, I'm sure 2moro will be here soon enough and then I'll be to nervous to do it. lol.

Jenn - Good luck babe, I'll be thinking of you. X

Good morning ladies,

I had a fabulous day! My DH and I had a lazy morning, and then we went downtown for brunch and movies. We saw Spider-man 3. Then we shopped for CDs and books, and we went to a little café for a little while. We just came back home. I think there will be a thunderstorm tonight; it will be nice and cozy.

I had my best night in a whole week. I still need Tylenol, though. There's always that dull but persistent pain in my lower back and sometimes cramping. There is improvement, though, even if it's much slower than last time. I hope it's a good sign... :D :D :D

hrobinson: sorry you won't be able to stick around for two weeks! We'll miss you! :D CONGRATULATIONS on the nice scan! Good news sweetie! Woohoo! I'm keeping everything crossed for you sweetie, and I wish you the best of lucks with the rest of your cycle. Come back to us soon and tell us everything! :D And remember... your body is doing the best it can; worrying, calculating, ruminating won't change anything about the outcome. Plus it's true that you want to aim for quality and not quantity. Grow follies, grow! Nice and juicy!

arizonakiwi: awwwwwwwwww the wait is almost over! Did you give in and do an HTP after all? Your husband sounds really enthusiastic about your IVF cycle. I'm sure it's a big blessing, and I sure with my DH was a bit more emotional about it (he really waits until we have a confirmed pregnancy on the u/s). However, I could very well see that his enthusiasm, and him buying stuff in advance... how it could put pressure on you for that BFP. Is it the case sometimes? Anyway, I know he's taking super good care of you and I'm happy to hear it! :D How are you doing today?

jenn: WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO! CONGRATULATIONS BABY! You're pregnant sweetie! YAAAAAAAAY! Enjoy the next 8 months and a half! Can't wait to see u/s pictures of your little beanie! How are you feeling today?

mandeeq: thanks for your sweet words; *hugs* How are you doing?

Jul1e: tomorrow's a big day indeed! :D You seem to have made a well-thought and informed decision and I think it's the most important. Can't wait to hear about your little embies tomorrow! It's so exciting to see the little misbehavers! Glad that your dog is doing better. Can't wait to put you with me in the 2ww list along with mommytobe; keep us informed! Oh... and I always copy/paste my posts before I preview or submit... saved me a lot of "banging my head on the keyboard" sessions! ;)

babysoft: WELCOME to the nuthouse! :D THanks for sharing your story with us. Unfortunately, you seem to have been through a lot, and met quite a few doctors that deserve a good kick in the... I'm so sorry sweetie. But since your clinic specializes in high FSH, I'm sure you're in good hands! :D Sending lots of baby dust to you. Now, about your cycle... it seems to go pretty fast. Might it be a flare protocol? I didn't do one ever, but some ladies here did. Ladies? I wish you the best for this cycle, and we'll be glad to walk on your side! I've heard good things about Menopur! :D Egg retrieval is usually never at a fixed date. People usually have a ultrasound and/or bloodwork after a few days of stimming, and they they have checks regularly (my clinic does ultrasounds every two days after the blood work). Your clinic might do more bloodwork since hormones are tricky with you. And when they are satisfied with your hormone level and the size of your follicles, they give you the go-ahead for the trigger shot (HCG usually) so your follies can mature even more and you get juuuuust there for ovulation... and that's when egg retrieval happens (36 hours after trigger shot). Usually, stimming ranges between 9-11 days in average (before trigger). I've seen more, and I've seen less, but rarely.

pat: hang in there sweetie!! That HPT must be SO tempting! I can't wait to hear the news!!!!! Keeping everything crossed darling!

Okay ladies! Take care and have a lovely Sunday night!
