BFP in spite of my blahs

Post by amh6967 »

i got a BFP!
my 1st beta was only 7.6, and 2nd one was only 14.5 (2 days apart).
i am told these numbers are very low, and i should remain cautiously optimistic. i have beta's scheduled every 48 hrs for the next couple weeks or so. i guess that as long as the #s continue to double/grow, that this could be a viable pregnancy!
im so damned nervous, and excited!
anyone else out there experienced such low betas?

Hi Ghost

my embryos were frozen on day 2 and then I had them defrosted and transfered on the same day. One was 3 cells and the other had been 4 cells but 2 collapsed, the embryologist said that it was still viable so they were both put in.

I asked my consultant how long they would take to implant if they were going to and he said 2 to 3 days. From reading the other posts they appear to say 6 days so now I am totally confused.

Do you have any ideas relating to the information I have given you.

Also I have started to have cramps like my period today. day 3.
Thanks so much

Hi Kez

I think both were right - implantation happens about 6 days from EC, so if you had FET on day 2 it should be about another 3-4 days for implantation. AF cramping and related feelings can all come with the progesterone. Try to stay positive - and good luck!

Hi, Iam on 2ww. I had my day 5 transfer on 5/21 and they transferred two top quality embies. but progestrone and estrogen levels are low on 4dpet. I increased my dosage to 2 cc and 6 mg of estrogen.
I do not have any symptoms so far except cramping, do you guys have any sysmptoms before th test. I am waiting to do the hpt test today or tomorrow. I had natural pregnancy in 2004 and had sore breast but now i do not feel any , is it too early or each pregnancy is diff?

Two to three days is optimistic. Embryos can implant after about 6 days of development (plus or minus a bit). Your day 2 embies should therefore implant in about 4 days after thaw. Could vary from that of course.

You are absolutely right, Jovigal. Unfortunately, the male "scientist" doesn't have all the answers. I've been going through this for 4 years, experiencing BFPs and BFNs and they are very different for me. I can tell before a test tells me.

"That's why we have tests"... really, really condesending.

Ghost is correct, I take progesterone injections prior to transfer and I get cramping every time so much I think I might start my period, continues off and on once I have tge embryo transfer. Scientists, whether male or female, are what got us here in the first place, without them and their understanding of female reproduction we would not have any of this, IVF or any assistance. We should respect their more educated opinions, they do not discount a woman's "feeling' they just also take into account actual evidence. They use both in their judgements and so should we.
