HCG 494??????

Hi Everyone, I have just moved from the IVF forum to the I'm Pregnant, hurrahhhh.....
I have just finished my two week wait and just had my first blood test from the hospital, my HCG evel was 494
Does anyone know much about the levels? I am confused, does it seem high?
I am potentially due in Feb if there is anyone else out there who wants to buddy

Welcome and congrats! My advice is to not think about the stupid beta number again. It's positive and that's all that matters. I drove myself crazy the first few months agonizing over the numbers---remember, most women have no idea what a beta number is and really, as long as it doubles every 24 hours or so the number itself doesn't much matter.

karen - how many days after transfer did you have your bloodwork? My re says that anything over 200 on 10dp3dt is an indication of multiples.

The beat #'s are really unreliable for indidcations of one or more. Mine was only 64 at first and we are pg with twins. I have also heard women say theirs was in the high hundreds and more and they had singletons.

I agree with Meg and say just go with the flow and enjoy the BFP. It's not long until you know if it's one or more anyway. Congratulations on being pg! It's nice to walk on the other side huh?

My beta was 14dpt, 17dpr, so I think the numbers are more likely to be singleton.
I cannot describe the pain in my boobs, they are so painful and heavy and my bra's are getting too tight, I think this might still be due to the progesterone pessaries.
Does anyone else have pressure around the pubic line, I feel uncomfortable at night with my trousers/seatbelt on my lower abdomen, is this normal????

Karen--I've been pretty tender (both breasts and abdomen) pretty much the whole pregnancy. My body is feeling more and more unreal and not like me at all---it's so great!

Beta doesn't really show how many beanies you have, it is just showing the healthy and strong pregnancy as Ive been told by my RE:)

I also just looked over here and have been posting a little on the IVF board. I had by beta Tuesday. It was 738 at 14dp5dt. So I will also be due in February. My due date would be Feb 7 although I think I will be scheduled for a c-section a week prior as I needed a c-section with my daughter 2 1/2 years ago.

I've also been told that this number means nothing at this point unless it were really low - below 200 at 14dpt or above something like 3000 in which case it would need to be monitored. Otherwise just be happy with a strong positive number and wait for the scan.

When is your scan? Mine won't be until June 26th. (I don't think I can stand to wait that long, but they basically gave me no other option.)

By the way my boobs are sore too and growing out of my bra. I think that is normal. If you are having abdominal pain I think some is normal, but you should also keep an eye out for OHSS if this was a fresh cycle and you stimmed alot. I think that can come back with pregnancy hormones. They told me to keep up with the Gatorade and let them know if I have any issues.
