11dpt hpt negative today

Post by kez01 »

Hi everyone,

Well I couldn't wait and did a test today which came out negative. My AF cramps are more constant now and my breasts are still sore, I'm just waiting to get my AF now.

I know it hasn't worked and I just wish it was all over rather than having to wait until the 8th to do my official hpt and let the clinic know that it hasn't worked again.

I'm feeling sad today and angry too that it hasn't worked. My husband wants us to wait a while before trying again. He said we should see if we can do it naturally but we tryed for 3 years and didn't manage once.

Oh well I hope everyone else is doing well.
Take care

Kerry~

Don't give up hope so quickly! I too tested early and even tested 13 pdt and it was still negative. Felt cramping, tingly breasts, and was feeling very down that it wasn't working and my beta came back at 64. Now I'm pg with twins!

Have faith!!! Good luck and hope you are wrong on this one. :D

A positive at this point would be a real positive. A negative means little. Those things are not very sensitive.

Hi Kerry -

I replied to you on the other thread, but will respond to you here as well. Listen to the others who have already replied to the negative test results. The negative test result means little on a biological basis, but has HUGE NEGATIVE ramifications on you mentally. They are little sticks of evil!! As much as possible, I would not skip ahead to what happens if it is negative, will you try IVF or natural, when, etc. Try to approach this one day at a time.

And don't for a moment think that just because I have not tested yet and am saying all this 'be positive' stuff that I am not a ball of nerves for my test on Thursday....because I am!!!

Hope you are feeling better,

Hi Colleen,

Thanks for both replies, all the replies have made me feel better.

I hope you had a nice weekend and I hope you are feeling ok too. Did being with family help take your mind off things or was everyone asking you how you were feeling.

Atleast we are both testing the same time, I will leave it now until test day.
We do not have anything planned yet for Friday, I think I might go to the movies with my husband. Pirates of the caribean 3 is on and I think that is lighthearted enough to take my mind off things whatever happens.

I know your right about the future plans, I just need to start really listening to peoples advise and taking it too. I am so glad to have this site for support.

I hope you have had an easy day at work today, I dont go back until monday thankfully, and my friend is off work so I always have her to talk to. She is always telling me that in all 3 of her pregnancies she was sure that she was going to get her AF as she had usual symptoms, cramps etc.

I am trying my best to listen and just wait and pray that I dont get my AF tomorrow. The timing against my last cycle, I would get my AF tomorrow if it were negative, So we'll see

Nice to talk to you and sorry for going on, keep me posted and take care

Hi Kerry -

Good to hear that you are feeling better from all of the replies. This site really helps make a difference. I think I needed to hear Ghost's reply about the dreaded HPTs.

Going away for the weekend was great to take my mind off of things. Especially since every time my parents and I are together, we go shopping! For now, I cannot shop as much as I would like, because we have to pay for all fertility treatments out of pocket + are using donor sperm. Last count, we are closing in on 20k. It was quite a bonding moment to have my Mom give me my progesterone shot in my butt though!

Tomorrow is when I would have gotten my AF too. If I miss it, I don't know how much to read into it....as some people do not get AF while they are on the meds.

I know you are going to have a better Tuesday than Monday!

Hi Kez,
Please dont give up hope, I was convinced I was getting AF but instead I found out I was pregnant, all my tests were also negative until 2 weeks after egg retrieval, I too had all the symptoms that you are having.
I wish you the best of luck

Hi Colleen and Karen,

thanks so much for your words of encouragement.

I have had a very nervous tuesday, everytime I have gone to the loo I have been worried that I am bleeding. I haven't started yet and I'm very nervous about letting myself feel too positive.

I'm wondering if the oestrodial valerate tablets would prevent my AF from arriving if I am not pregnant.

My sister spoke to her friend who has just had twins from ivf, she said that she was convinced she was going to get her AF and she even tested negative on the appropriate day to test but she was pregnant with twins. This has given me some hope, but I'm so frightened about being too positive and then it will surprise me and be negative.

I hope your AF has not arrived either Colleen, has work been taking your mind of everything or are you going crazy too.
I guess we are both going to have to take each day as it comes, I'm finally starting to take your advise.
Take care

Hi Kerry

How you feeling today?

I am following exactly the same cycle as you. I had 2 embies put back on 24th May. I had 6 frosties, all had to be thawed to get 2 to replace. I also test on Friday 8th.

I had some bleeding last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, very very light. I am hoping it is implantation bleeding, but not sure it is. I also have done Hpts which have all been negative.

I phoned the clinic today and they said, it was too early to test with Hpt. Although I know some people are getting +ves at this stage.

Having lots of cramping, feel like AF is on her way, boobs are killing me, back is sore, feel sick... so hard to know what is going on.

I have decided to do no more tests until Friday and keep everything crossed!

Good luck to you. Will be interested to hear your result.

Hi -

Well....after a bad day at work and feeling like I am stuck in this 2ww, I finally broke down and did a HPT. I had to PROMISE to my DH that if it was negative, I would not go crazy. Luckily, I didn't have to come through on my promise. It was positive! :D :D I know that the BT is the real deal and will have to wait until Thursday....but, we are thrilled!!!! I am flying to Switzerland for work on Saturday, so I am not quite sure how/when they do the second BT to know that it is doubling??

Kerry - Good to hear that you had a better day today. I can totally appreciate how every trip to the restroom is a chance at failure or success. Hang in there, you only have a few more days to go. I am crossing my fingers for you.

Louise - It sounds like you have some great symptoms! Did you have a 3 or 5 day transfer? All three of us had ET on the same day. Is this your first IVF attempt? Sending baby dust your way!

All smiles over here in the US,

Colleen

Hi,

Great news Colleen, I'm so happy for you :D I'm sure you beta will be absolutely fine, you'll have to let us know how you get on before you go to switzerland.

Louise it is great to hear from you, it does sound like you are having good symptoms, that bleed in the early days does sound like implantation bleeding and the other symtoms sound more pregnancy related than AF.
I wish you all the luck and will look forward to hearing your news on friday.

I'm hanging in there by the skin of my teeth. Had a nervous but good day yesterday and today I'm back to feel :( I can't stop doing hpt I truly must be mad, got a negative again today and just feel totally in despair, so it is nice to hear good news, it makes me feel that this isn't just a waste of time and it really does work sometimes.

Hope you all have a good day and take care

Kerry~ Put down the HPT!!!! You sounded so optimistic for a minute and now you are down again! Dear, they are the devil and are only here to make us crazy. My HPT was a BFN the day before my beta and I'm now almost 22 weeks pg with twins. Don't get trapped into one more of those little devils. Good luck and it's great news AF isn't here. We should be celebrating every milestone!
Fingers crossed~

Congratulations Coleen thats great news. So exciting. A very exciting time ahead.

Kerry, try to not let it get you down, you don't know for sure yet your result is negative. A day can make a lot of difference. I am keeping everything crossed for you. The other poster is right, stay away from HPTS... it is so hard though. I have one left and am dying to test tonight, but am going to try to hold out!

We had a 3 day transfer using frozen embies left from a previous ICSI. My little boy was 1 yesterday! So we are living proof that this treatment can and does work!

2nd time round for us. Not as painful as first time, as whatever happens we have our little boy, but the waiting is still hard, hareder than I remembered! My boobs are still killing me today and no AF. Really don't know what to think.

Lots of love to everyone

2 sleeps till test day

Hi everyone,

Louise and Kimberley thanks so much for cheering me up, I have had a terrible morning and afternoon and my husband crashed his motorbike this afternoon, luckily he is ok, he was going to get me some flowers to cheer me up, which makes me feel terrible, it took my mind of things though.

I contacted my clinic to ask if the oestrodial valerate tablets would prevent me from having my Af, I told the nurse too that I was day 13 and got a negative result today, she said oh sorry, but no words of comfort or dont worry you still have 2 days to go. So I felt worse, this evening though I am feeling much better and I am going to stop feeling sorry for myself. I do apologise to everyone for being such a miserable cow  I am going to stay away from hpt and see how things go.

I have to go to a course in work tomorrow which should keep me amused and then we will see how things go on friday.

Take care everyone and sorry again.
talk to you all soon.

Kerry - Good to hear that your husband is okay. It must have been scary.

Funny thing about the clinic not giving any words of comfort. I have found both my doctor and the office to not be the warmest of places. I imagine they get desensitized over time, but it is such an emotional time that you would hope they would have a bit more empathy. On a positive note, you have not gotten AF...and don't worry a second about being a "miserable cow". Of all people, I think the amazingly supportive women on this site understand your emotions.

Louise - You and Kerry both will be in my thoughts on Friday. It sounds as if things are progressing nicely.

Tomorrow is my BT. I am hoping for a good beta number and the official confirmation...and am still in a haze of excitement and disbelief.

Take care,

Colleen
