rockrat- I DO go to ACRM- I see Dr. Hasty at the Buckhead office mostly, but will go to Woodstock for ER and Transfer. My nurse told me to call if I hadn't gotten a period 3-4 days after last BCP. Maybe you didn't hear the DR. correctly when he said 14, maybe he meant 4. Let me know what you find out.

Hi, Jen, I've seen Dr. Hasty once but usually see Dr. Toner at Woodstock. I think I've seen all of them at one point or another though I've been going there so long! Sigh. This is my first IVF though so I'm hoping for the best! I did just hear back from my nurse. She said 3-5 days is normal so I must've heard her wrong the first time. She scheduled me for the baseline ultrasound for 6/11 as long as my period comes by this weekend. This is getting exciting!

How are all the other Lupron girls doing? After 4 days, I'm feeling more like a pro! LOL! By the time it's all said and done we'll all be experts! I'm ready for stims, I'm ready for retrieval and transfer! I'm feeling really optimistic today...it's been a long time since I felt that way. Oh please let this work!

The one difficult thing that I found about the shots is getting through my skin. Today will be my third so I guess I will try starting it a little harder.

I am supposed to start my Stims on the 13th. I am going to be taking Follistim, but they have not told me the dosage yet. I think they will start me off with 150. The nurse told me once, but told me not to worry about it yet. She said I need to concentrate on the Lupron and relaxing before stimulation. That may be a good thing.

today I feel pretty moody. Not too cheering. The one good thing is that I actually have energy again. Being on BCP really drained me.

It is great that we are all in this together, just want to say that again. Hearing others in their excitement is bringing up my mood.

I'm not scheduled to start taking stims until June 17 (day 33 of my cycle). This seems so much later than the others that started lupron the same time as I did (June 1). I take my last bcp on June 7. I go in for my supression check and trial transfer on June 12. Does anyone else have this type of schedule? Does this seem normal? :? :? :?

Hi all, I just did my day 2 u/s and b/w, I start my Gonal-F and Menopure tonight. Tenative retreival day on the 17th of this month. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will work on first try, trying so hard to not get my hopes up and be realistic. I go in for my next u/s and b/w on Friday. Take care and best of luck to everyone. So glad I found this site. Also what is the cream everyone is talking about, does it numb the injection site and does it work.

kerribell, I think that as long as you stay on suppression you will be okay.

Kerri- once you stop the BCP, you will get a period. This will then start your cycle over- Day 1. So, you would start stims on Day 10 of your cycle, which seems about right. Does that make sense? At least that's how it was explained to me. I am scheduled to start stims around Day 5, so I still think your Day 10 is okay.

Hello All...I've been reading all the threads and my protocol seems to be different from everyones! First off I started estradiol on day 2 of my cycle after my b/w came back (high fsh)...then on Saturday (day 4) I started lupron injections twice a day. On Monday (day 6) I started bravelle 3 vials once a day and menopur 3 vials once a day....and I'm still continuing to take lupron twice a day! Not sure why everyone seems to be doing something different from me, but I'm sure the doctors know whats best. I have my 2nd u/s tomorrow morning and hopefully my follies are growing...I'm on this protocol for 10 days and then suppose to do retrieval. Is there anyone that is paying for their ms out of pocket...just wondering because I came across a wonderful pharmacy overseas...i called the manufacturer and made sure they were legitimate and I ordered my meds from them for 1/2 the prce I pay in the states.

Anyway good luck all....it seems strange but I'm starting to look forward to the shots...I guess mentally it keeps me feeling lie I'm getting closer to my ultimate goal....a bouncing healthy baby....or GOD willing babies!

Starting at the end of June

Post by icsipixie »

Hi everyone! I am going to be starting my first IVF cycle at the end of June. I think that my period will come around June 22-24 and then starts the pill. I have a little different of a situation. My husband is missing his vas defernes and we are having to do an asperation of sperm. He won't have that done until the beginning of July. I am worried that we will start the Lupron and they won't find any sperm. My BIL went through the same thing last year and they now have a 5 month old baby that was conceived through IVF. I am sure it will be fine, but nerve racking none the less. I am excited about the possible outcome.. everyone in my family keeps asking me if I am bitter because my husband has the problem and I am perfectly fine.. but I am not. It's all part of what was handed our way.. thank goodness we have the option. Wish you all luck!

Melanie,

I like your positive thinking. I think it is great to have and in can only help add to the success of your cycle!

Everyone,

Do not worry about your protocols. The drs. know what they are doing so all you can do is leave it in their hands. That is, as long as your clinic has a good reputation with IVF. If it does not work the first round, they will discover more info for the second round. Some of it is trial and error.

I am on Day 3 of Lupron and no side effects. I cannot feel the needles so that is great. It's a nice way to start the cycle. As long as AF arrives around June 15, I will have my baseline done at that time. No real news yet. . .I just hope this works since it is our last attempt.

Elvisbaby,

As far as the shot, just poke it in fast. Practice on an orange if you have to. The faster it goes in, the least painful it is. Count to three and jab. I know this may sound harsh, but it works. And, if you have the option, have DH do it for you. :P

Hello ladies...I went in for my blood work and u/s this morning. Haven't received the results back from b/w but u/ showed now follies at all! Not sure whether or not I should be worried...it's only day 7 of my cycle and day 3 of my stims, I asked the nurse she said it's fine cause I havent been on the med long enough yet...I believe I will have another u/s on Friday....we shall see!

Goo luck to all the af waiters and the shot takers...I know we will all get through this like champions!
