Hi Donna,

I'm glad that they confirmed the result for you, rather than getting you to do pointless things and making you more upset. Have an excellent time camping!!

Hi Tanya, Polly, Henrietta, Joviwish!! Good wishes to you all!!

A little bit in the doldrums here. This cold is refusing to leave and I feel miserable.

I'm also not dealing terribly well with DH's anxiety, particularly as he is having issues with stress and going to work. This is sending me into a really bad spin, depression wise.

Contributing to this - one of our friends rang last night, asked how things were going and then had to get off the phone quickly when I started to answer in detail. I know it was probably bad timing (his DS had to go to sleep), but my mum and brother have done the same thing recently and it just highlights how alone you really are.

Going to talk to our counsellor on Monday afternoon - see if I can deal with things.

Donna, to answer your question about where we are up to - due to other things going on in our KD's life everything has basically stalled. (well up until 20 minutes ago anyway - see below!!)

After 10 years of living in the same place our KD was asked to move out. It was a rental agreement from a close friend, who needed the room for his mother as his sister had just died. However it took a long while for the request to sink in for my KD and even up to the last minute he was trying to negotiate to stay.

Needless to say he was in turmoil about where he was going to live. At the 11th hour a friend offered a place. Then he had the move and fell sick shortly afterwards.

I think I said something earlier in this post about the difference between going with an unknown donor that has already made a decision, and going through the process together with a known donor. However, it does make it more real and I still think this is the right way to go.

Anyway, you would not believe how quickly things change!!! I just got an email from our KD - he's just done another donation this morning!!

However my joy is cautious - I still don't know if he's done the counselling and nothing can proceed until this happens. He must have it as an individual, then we all have to go together - me, DH and our KD.

Then, if we all agree and the counsellor ticks our meeting off, the 6 month storage happens.

So, I might have an early night and hopefully the reality will kick in tomorrow morning.

Sorry for the whinge - hope everyone else is ok.

Gargy, thanks for all the warm wishes. I am on my 5th day of stimulation with Follistim. Having a little cramping but that is understandable as my doctor increased my dose this month. As you may or may not know last month I was on 50IU and had one egg and got a BFN. So back on the rollercoaster this month. Go in for scan on Tuesday to see if I produced more eggs. I am supposed to start menopur on Saturday so my protocol is day 3 through 5 75IU of follistim and days 6 through 11 75IU follistim a.m. and 75IU menopur p.m. Have you had stimulation with IUI yet? I am so sad to hear that you feel alone. Well you are not alone, we are here for you. You can pm me anytime if you want to talk. I am so glad that your KD found a place. So when do you anticipate starting your new cycle. Will it be with injectables or natural? Keep in touch.

Well I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the clinic and asked for an ultrasound! ITS TWINS!!! I know it is still early but it is so exciting. I am still sitting here thinking OMG!!!! I can't believe it. Both babies heartbeats are about 150's-160's. The doctor said that everything looks really good. She said that both babies are just about to the 6 week mark. I got to see the little flicker of their heartbeats and I started crying....It was so amazing! I am soooo thrilled that I went in. I am still going in on Tuesday to check and make sure things are going good. That is fine by me. I don't mind seeing them again!!! I am still sitting here and I just can't believe it. I really can't!!!

I posted this post and my ultrasound pic at www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com

I can't believe it! WOW!!!!!!!

Oh my God!! I have a new hope!! I just had a follow up consultation with my doctor and we are going to try embryo adoption!! This is such an amazing, amazing prospect. The donors are completely altruistic in their donation, they do not get compensated. (The donor will never know how much this truly means to us...well actually I think they do -which is why they are donating) The cost for us will be the ivf transfer, blood works etc. Not sure of the cost but Iv'e heard it ranges between 2 and 4 thousand. Much more feasible than adoption. Honestly, as much as I loved the thought of adoption I was feeling paralyzed by the fear of it. I do not think I could go through an adoption heartbreak, knowing the heartbreak of failed infertility attempts. Anyway they have some in storage and they earmarked a donor for us, fitting a profile very similar to us. She has 7 embryos which we can use for further attempts or storage!! Nothing is guaranteed here either, but at least its another option - another hope! I cannot say how much relief I feel - I thought we were at a dead end. I had no idea this existed. Just thought I'd share it with you!!

Donna,

That's brilliant news - I hope that it all works out!!

Hi Tanya and Polly,

Sending sticky baby vibes!!

Hi Henrietta and Joviwish - hope all is well with you...

Things are going ok at the moment. DH has finished his final essay for his uni and I have to do some marking and report writing over the weekend. Thank goodness this semester is almost over.

I think about where we were a week ago and I can't believe we were in such a dark place. I still had a minor reaction yesterday with a migraine - haven't had one in ages - but I still feel more centred.

On Monday I felt like I was looking around and breathing again. Now, I feel like I've picked up my backpack again and I'm moving on. Work first - get that out of the way - then back to organising KD for this counselling business.

Slowly, slowly...

Hi girls

I hope you don't mind me jumping in!

I have been reading your posts and one minute I felt like crying then next I have a huge smile, it was great to read some BFP!!

Anyway I just have a question you may be able to help me with. We have just been through isci for male factor. I got 10 eggs but they only got three abnormal sperm from Dh. They did try to fertilise them but they didn't take.

I do have a 10 year old son from a previous relationship but longed to have a child with my husband. I tryed to discuss maybe using a sperm donor but DH just said "no way!" I am sad that he won't even think about it. Maybe I should just be more greatful to have one child? I do realise how lucky I am but it it doesn't stop the hurt that I feel. Am I just being silly?
