Hi everyone,

I did my first Lupron shot today. My injection teach isn't until tomorrow, but the nurse talked me through it on the phone. After I had drawn the fluid, she said, "Okay, now wipe the skin with the alcohol pad, wait for it to dry, and stick it it." I started to panic when I realized she expected me to, pardon the pun, take the plunge right then and there!! I said, "You want me to just do it right now?" "Yes", she said. I told her that I couldn't possible just stick it in right then, I needed some time. She kinda laughed and told me what to do (hold it in for 3 secs) and then we hung up. I counted to three and did it- it wasn't that bad, but OMG!! How scary for one's inaugural stab to have the added pressure of the nurse waiting on the other end of the phone line! I hope everyone else had less trauma and I hope the next couple of weeks go by quickly for all of us!!

I'm being dramatic....but this an accurate depiction of how I'm feeling! I got my blood work back from the nurse today...my body isn't responding to any of the drugs I'm taking...they've asked me to stop taking the meds until Friday and see what my body does on it's own!

I'm trying to be optimistic but I know I'm just days away from a cancellation!

Not a good day for me today!!!

Brandi....to be honest with you ....right now I have no clue...reading everyone threads and their protocol ivf....i seem to be doing something completely different. Anyway I don't think I'm stimming well....I can't remember what my levels are but I know my e2 is extremely low and my fsh is high 23....the nurse said i wasn't responding to the stimms...she didn't even mention uping the dosage she just told me to stop until friday...then i will have blood work to see what my body is doing naturally...but I already know it's going to be cancalled cause I have no follies

Hi Brandy!!

Hello ladies, how are we all doing ??? Welcome to all others newly being part of this.

BabySoft, I am sooo sorry to hear the news, but did they allow u to start stimming even tho ur FSH was 23 ? Many clinics dont allow to start if the IVF is higher, but if they allowed u to stim, maybe that time the Fsh was low & now has it increased ???? I keep u in my prayers, hope things will turn out good for u. Please keep us informed.

Brandi, Hello how r u doing ? Wish u all the best for ur U/S & u start stimming tommow, whooo hooooo!!!! Had been quite busy these past few days & not much news until AF shows up, but so far nothing.
It'll be 9th lupron shot tommow, my RE did not put me on BCP, just lupron from CD 21. So eagerly waiting for AF, lets see, I have no idea how many days it takes before AF while on lupron. I had posted a topic asking others, but didnt get much response at all. anyways, Take care, do keep us posted.

Jen, so funny about the nurse being on the line with you! I would've frozen too!

Babysoft, I am so sorry. I hope that you don't get cancelled but if you do, even though it will be so emotionally painful for you and your DH, better to cancel now then to go forward with an egg retrieval that wouldn't be successful. Talk with your RE about what he/she thinks went wrong and how your protocol can be adjusted so that you can successfully stim. I'll be thinking of you!

Wish all of you guys the gest of luck with the stimms....hopefully we will get a lot of BFP's this month and next month...lol maybe soething crazy will happen...everyone will fall asleep during their 2ww and wake up oon day 14 with a BFP 8)

Again best of luck...I will be reading all post and thinking of you all...I will update again after my results on Friday.

Hi Babysoft
Saddened to read your mail. I have also had high FSH in the past although it seems to vary quite dramiatically from month to month. I understand that in the UK an FSH above 25 usually rules out IVF but I have read on these message boards about many women who go on to have successful IVF pregnancies. I believe you should ask your Doctor what hornone treatment he can give you before you down reg next time to minimise FSH during that period. I also hear that acupuncture works as does lymphatic drainage massage.
Good luck over the next few days!

Thanks Cwrj..yeah I do have high fsh, but honestly when I got my b/w done o day 3 it was only 7, so that actually isn't my main cocer right now. Honestly reading all the other psts..it seems I'm not producing any eggs....hence the high fsh....strangely enough when I did the clomid challenge several years ago I produced mature eggs...so after Friday I relly need to sit down and have a chit chat with my doctor, cause if the meds they are giving me for ivf aren't helping...I need to go on a different protocol, but I'm no stressed about it anymore so no more worries...I will proceed!

Brandi....good news glad to see af came and 10 follies...so off to stimms...hopefully your er and et come fast..you're on your way to a BFP in no time!

Well ladies....bloodwork in the morning...we will see what this month holds for me!

To all my cycle buddies...good luck with expected af's, stimms. er & et, quick 2ww's and lots of BFP's...I think I've covered everything!

Babysoft- Good luck with your appointment tomorrow. Maybe the Dr. will have some good ideas on how to proceed. Ask a lot of questions!! Remember they work for you, so push them if needed to get the answers you need.
Good Luck Carebear, on the Stims!
Does any one know a good forum for the PIO shots? Those are the ones I'm worried about, and would love to hear other people's experiences with them.

Jeneden - post your question on the May/June thread. Some of them have probably just done or currently doing the PIO. They could probably answer your questions.
