Tia
Hope that you are well and that your P4 levels look good! Bring home the babies girl!!!

Sophie
Interesting about the progesterone!!! Although I didnt have it the last time around with my BFN from FET....I used the same stuff....hummmmm Weird. I do understand what you are saying about the sex. I did that the first time around and it was fun. Lots of anticipation. I was just hoping to know. It makes no never mind in the big scheme of things. I am jsut thrilled to be pg and with twins!!! It is a good feeling. Can't wait to hear in 9 days.

As for me I am doing well. Just waiting for Scan next Tuesday and then off to OB!!! Oh I do have my Ob appt today with the nurse we shall see how it goes.

Good morning-

Tanya- We are so excited but freaked out. We never thought twins would happen. We always said wouldn't it be great to get a 2 for 1 deal? Now that it is a possibility we are in shock! But happy none the less. Dh was grinning from ear to ear all night! After 3 and a half years of trying that look on his face was priceless!

Shantala- how are you? My beta was 918 13dp3dt. I go for more bloods later this week. They don't know when ultrasound is.

Gotta company is here and I have to go entertain. More shopping today!
Jenn

Mandeeq, good luck for tomorrow. How are you feeling? Thinking of you.

Jen, how exciting, I don't understand all this beta stuff - we just do urine tests - but it everyone seems to think it points towards twins! How exciting. One baby is amazing, two is just wow! How are you feeling today?

Sophie, sorry you've found your symptoms could be symptoms of the progesterone. Still you never know, it could be an early sign! Only a week to go, almost!

Angela, how are you getting on? Hope you're doing ok.

Tia and Jenn, how are you new 2wwaiters going? I'm fairly relaxed which is good, am sure that will get harder at the wait goes on though! You asked about symptoms Jenn, nothing really, boobs a bit tender (prob the progesterone) and a bit of an uncomfortable lower abdomen which could well still be the swollen ovaries from the ER last week. I had a lazy day but had to go to a meeting later on and my trousers were really digging in to my bloated belly on the drive there and back, it was really unpleasant. Am firmly back on the couch now with the trousers undone!

Shantala, glad you're still posting here, it's good to hear how you're getting on. Is Carolyn on the other thread or is she further behind still? That's a pest that AF's taking her time, typical! Hope she pays a visit soon for you - and for the rest of us I really hope she keeps away for 9 months! Here's hoping.

Tanya, sounds like you're doing great, life must be so exciting for you just now. How do your boys feel about the little ones in your tum? When did you get your first positive on the HPTs by the way? Not sure if I'll use them or not. When is the HCG from the shot out of the system? Hmmm.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm having a lazy evening in front of the telly with DDog while DH is out watching football - Scotland won so he might have a few, hope he's not too annoying when he comes home!

Take care all.

Well ok I thought that I was out of the woods with the m/s thing but it is kicking into high gear this week. I have been feeling queasy most of the day for about a week now...uugghg..I love it but I feel bad! I just bought some hard candy to suck on...the crackers, soda etc is not working. Any ideas???

Anyhow I went to the OB today and my next regular appointment with them is July 17th. I also go to see a high risk perinatologist on June 18th for a consultation due to the bloop pressure problems I have had in the past and I am on Thyroid meds and twins!!! So anyhow I go the the RE this Tuesday for my last u/s and discharge from there to OB and then the next week I see the peri. Things are going well. I didn't want to tell anyone from work and when I went to the office (it is a big office) one of my co-workers comes in and sits next to me and she is like I am here for my annual....pause....like tell me why you are here!!! I didn't say anything and then I thought that I was in the clear and when I was checking out you do it in the waiting room the lady was like well July 17th is going to be your first appointment with the doctor, blah blah blah (she kept talking)....I was like oh geeze what happened to all of this HIPPA crap!!! She knows now and i was doing so well at keeping it a secret and now this. Oh well. I never acknowledged anything to her but she heard it Im sure. Now the whole freaking unit will know. This is my information....Anyhow my doc office does a really neat DVD and photos of your baby at about 32 weeks with their 4D ultrasound machine. Their whole package for that is $150. It is a really neat video of the baby. I want one!!!! I can't wait to see the babies at that age in there it will be neat. Those 4D machines are cool!!!

Jules
you may or may not believe this but at 3dp5dt. I saw a shadow with the FRER and then the line just kept getting darker!!!!! I think that it takes about 10-12 days or so for most women to get the HCG out of their system. Everyone is different. I always POAS before the transfer and it was always negative (at about 7 days or so) but everyone is different.

HOW IS IT GOING 2WWers???? I am thinking about you guys and rooting you on!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!

Jenn
So glad for you and DH and the feeling is so wonderful isnt it?? That is so awesome for you guys. It sure does sound like Twins. That is a super high number!!!! Arent you just going nutty thinking about it? I still am-I still can't believe it! LOL This is such great news for you-again congrats!! PREGGO!!!

Well that is all I have for right now.....

I can't remember if I answered you or not but a fetal doppler is one type of fetal monitoring. The fetal heart doppler is a non-invasive diagnostic instrument used to detect and measure the fetal heart rate. A fetal heart doppler measures the fetal heart rate by emitting and receiving continuous ultrasonic sound waves and emitting the change or shift in pitch frequency of these sound waves. This is called the Doppler Effect and was discovered by Austrian mathematician and physicist, Christian Doppler (1803-53). Each fetal heart monitor uses a transducer or probe of varying MGHZ (millions of cycles per second), usually 2 or 3, containing piezoelectric crystals which send short sound pulses into the directed area of the body. Every time one of these sound waves is sent the transducer (probe) pauses briefly and listens for the returning echo at which time the fetal heart doppler determines the depth and direction of each returning sound wave and converts the signal into the fetal heartbeat you hear. This heartbeat is not your baby's actual heartbeat but a reproduction. (found on the internet)

The Crinone is progesterone gel that you insert vaginally with an applicator. Fun fun....LOL

Hi Ladies,

Jules, Jenn, Sophie,

2ww going ok, today had some cramping lower abdomen and back. I took it easy on the sofa today. I try not to think about it too much.

Jenn how is it going for you?

Hello ladies!

How are you doing today? I'm doing great. I had some cramping on and off today and eventually took Tylenol in the afternoon. My breasts are definitely tender, but nothing incommodating. Other than that, no symptom, except changing mood. This morning, I woke up ready to kill, and remained grumpy till I got to work, basically. Fortunately, it went away. Nothing else to report!

mommytobe: looked at your ticker and WOW! Tell me about keeping PMA! ;) Go girl! Don't worry about the cramping; so many of us had it and look at the BFP list! :D

mandeeq: sweetie, you've waited for SO long and you've been SO patient! I'm keeping everthing crossed for you tomorrow and I'll make sure to check the forum as often as I can!

TansRN: sorry about the incident during your apt. Too bad that that co-worker is a babbler! Sometimes, however, when you don't want people to know something, you have the impression it's written all over your face and people will figure it out by themselves... when it fact it's not obvious at all. I'm glad that you'll have people keeping a close watch on you! Are those doctors people you know?

Jul1e: beta, basically, means that hormone levels are measured in the blood. So the higher the beta, the higher the hormone level detected. If you have twins, your uterus releases more HCG in the bloodstream, so higher levels at an early stage may indicate twins... or one excited singleton! What drives women crazy is when clinics do betas every two days or so for a week or so. The hormone level is supposed to double every 24-72h in a normal pregnancy... so women are very anxious to know how their hormone level is behaving because it's a sign that implantion is strong and the embies are growing well. My clinic does a blood test simply because it's more reliable than HPTs. I sure would not feel safe testing my IVF with an HPT only, because many of my friends recently had babies and tested negative at the time we're testing. They kept testing negative till day 40, even 50 of their cycle and yet they had safe pregnancies and beautiful babies. So I would go to a clinic or the ER and have a blood test done to confirm a negative HPT if my clinic only relied on HPTs. However, though I'll be curious about my beta, I won't have other tests to watch the evolution of my hormone level. Even if it dropped, there would be little anyone could do and I would know soon enough that I'm miscarrying. Hope your DH behaved himself and won't be too annoying... you can't be annoyed during your 2ww, bugger!

jenn: LOL You seem very excited and in shock but in a positive way and I'm really really happy for you hunny! Yay! At my clinic, one woman out of four has twins. So to us, it's a strong possibility, even a wish! But of course we'd freak out at the beginning just like you guys! ;) Hope you had fun entertaining tonight!

Shantala: hey sweetie! Yeah, I read that you're on the awaiting tmt thread all right, but I just thought you'd rather join the June/July thread when AF arrives because you might be more in sync with them, cycle-wise. But hey, we'll sure be happy to keep you here sweetie! :D And yes, tell them that I'll come smack them behind the head if they're not nice! And please sweetie... haven't you learned nothing from your first cycle? All "This MUST happen this or that way" statements are NO-NO! AF is a very sensitive thing... the more you wish for her to be there, the more delayed she is! ;) Sure learned that the hard way with a nervous breakdown on the phone with DH during my first cycle, LOL!

Okay, gotta update that list just for sweet mandeeq! See ya tomorrow!

Hi all,
I am working like mad, getting ready to go to Brazil. The donor is already stimming and we will know this coming Tuesday (probably) if she responded well to the treatment. I feel sorry for her as she is getting the daily shots but...I am doing my part as at my age playing with hormones increase the chances of a lot of problems. I don't care, DH is so wonderful that what I want the most is for him to experience the joy of a normal pregancy and childhood (he has two adoptive children, both with special needs). Yesterday he had some pain in the belly (he has a hernia that needs to be taken care off someday) and he panicked. So did I!
We are living to Brazil next friday. The retrieval will happen probably on the 18th or 19th. Doctor said no sex four days before. Is that the norm? what do you think? I will pick the longest interval and DH will have to deal with it!!!!
Speaking of it...what about after the trasnfer? I think my doctor said 12 weeks. Is that true? Is that about intercurse or orgasm? How do we know we are safe?
Shantala, nice reading you! When I was waiting for AF, I got sooo nervous that everytime I went to the bathroom I looked very carefuly...until the day I decided not to do that anymore. I started washing instead of using paper after urinating (at home) and just discharging the toilet paper without looking at it (at work) I felt much better that way. And I got it right on time.
Good luck for the WWs :Tia (13th) , PMApsi (14th), Jul1e (June 15th)
and Jenn779 (19th)!
TransRN, thanks for the explanation about the doppler. Any risk for the babies with the increased frequency of ultrasound? Sorry but I was never good in chemistry so when you talk about waves I imagine all DNA chains shaking and twisting around. Should we be cautious about ultrasounds in general?

Sometimes I leave the panel with the dancing icons, just to cheer me up...
Can I be bumped up to the stimming crowd?
Thank you all for waving this thread...
Back to work!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Sophie, I am so not computer literate, but when i made the ticker and put it the estimated due date from the IVF calculator, the ticker gave me how old the embie was and I kept it. :o I am trying to stay positive and the way I see it there are living embies inside of me. Can't wait for next wednesday. Still a little cramping and some bloated feelings.

2ww buddies how are you ladies doing?

Morning gang...
Just thought that I would check in before I go to school. UUGGHh no more of that for me for a while. I need a break!!! Things are going well here for me not a whole lot to report at the moment.

Literatriz
I think that we should be cautious with that stuff in general yes. I don't think that it is good to just keep ultrasounding your baby or dopplering it all the time. I don't think that the occasional u/s here or there or the occasional doppler for a few seconds is not going to hurt...everything in moderation. you just have to use it responsibly. It is so exciting that your donor is already stimming. That is wonderful!!!! Arent you like so excited?? That is awesome! Almost there girl.

Jenn
How are you doing with the babies in there?? LOL Still on cloud nine???

Susan
Whats up I havent seen you in a while!!!

Steph
We have our u/s on the same day again!! ! LOL It will be neat to see them again! I can't wait. How are you feeling? Doing OK???

Mandeeq-
Are you going to HPT today??? Let us know-we are dying to find out how it goes for you.

Sophie
How are you feeling today? Any other signs or symptoms that you are aware of???? Loved the comment about killing! Its like I wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something....It is horrible.

Jules
Thinking about you-resting well???

Jen
How is the waiting going for you? Feeling good???

I don't know if I asked the preggos but I was wondering what meds you are all taking and for how long??? Just curious! Ill be in touch I am sure...

hey gals, checking in on ya. I can't believe the number of BFP's we have on this board! That's wonderful. I believe we're outdoing the statistics on this thread which is great. Congratulations to the new BFPs - Jenn & susan!!!! Jenn, those numbers do sound like twins, I'll be surprised if not.

for those of you on 2ww, hang in there. It feels like time stands still while you wait for your test, I know. Just stay busy as much as possible.

daly - sorry about your doggy. I've always gotten close to my animals. Each day will get better. Having the new puppy will definitely help. so, where are you in your cycle?

TansRN - the only meds I am on is the Progestin pills (400mg/day) and my vitamins. I went off the PIO's a week after I got my BFP. I'll have to say, the progesterone hormone is killing me. I am SO exhausted. Sometimes, I have to make myself breath. I know it will be worth it though. I just can't wait to get off the meds. How are your meds affecting you?

I go back Monday, the 11th for my 2nd u/s. I should hear the heartbeat then.

Hey girls how's it going?

Tanya- yes we are still in shock. I can't wait to see an ultrasound. I asked Dr. this morning if she thought it was twins and her face lit up and then she just said "well you never know, those numbers can just be high for some, could be twins, maybe not though!" Now I don't know what to think! On the meds~ I am still on the estrogen patches and pills, and a PIO every night in the rear!

Mandeeq- good luck if you do an hpt! Let us know. They can be evil though so make sure you are ready for whatever it says! They drove me crazy on my first cycle!

Sophie- I have terrible mood swings too! Try not to hurt anyone  One more week till beta. The second week always drags by i'm sorry to say! Keep busy!

I had blood taken today. Waiting for the call. Hopefully they can tell me when an U/S will be. When is the earliest they can see how many are in there?

Hey Girls! Nothing too much here...I feel a little crampy, but I also did the last time! No other real symptoms...ecxept for the occassional headache, although I wish there were more! I am really bored around the house. Tomorrow I am going to defintiely get out of the house. My biggest probalem is how sore my bottom is from my PIO...it is ridiculous!!! I had to have my DH massage my butt last night! I was almost in tears! Anybody else feling this way about the shots?

Literatriz...how exciting for you! My RE asid no sex for 5 days before the transfer. I am not sure about not having sex for 12 weeks. All I know is that no sex/orgasms until the pregnancy test at least.

Mandeeq...Good luck girlie! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

Tanya...that sucks about your doctors appt situation. Maybe you should ask her to stay quite!

Mommytobe, Julie and Sophie...how are my girls feeling today? I am dying to have some symptoms! I am sure it is too early for me...today is only the 3rd day. Julie, anything for you yet...since we are on the same schedule?

I can't decide whethere or not to test on my own...PLEASE HELP!!! I NEED ADVICE!!! Any thoughts?
