Hello ladies!

How are you guys doing?

I'm doing great, though the Dark Side of the Force is definitely calling! This time, it's hard not to toy with the idea of doing an HTP. I really have signs that are much different from last time. First of all, there's the dark and large areolas. Then, there's this emotivity... from time to time, and increasingly so, I have a lump in my throat and even teary eyes sometimes, just thinking that I'm happy, that today's sunny, that my DH is so handsome and nice, that I love him. Normally, those things touch me indeed, but not that much! And I didn't have that last time!

BUT! I'm staying strong and I want to enjoy that special time the longest I can. So... no HTP for me so I don't spoil it with a BFN that might not be reliable. ;)

Other than that, I hope that my hairdresser will be able to see me today. I really need a haircut and my color is due. Plus we have to clean the garden of all unwanted weed and I have to do the laundry. But other than that, I'll relax.

mommytobe: you're really lucky; they test you much sooner than our clinic does. They have us wait 16 days after ER. Looks like your clinic only makes you wait 12. I'm with you on not telling. Last time, the people I told were disappointing and, as I discussed earlier, it's rare to find someone who truly understands what we go through. So this time I really limited the number of people I told. I understand the need to avoid pity; I sure hate that, too, makes me uneasy. How are you doing in your 2ww?

jen: LOL it's true that men don't understand the power of female friendship! :D Sorry to hear that you're moody and down, poor thing! I think your decision about the HPT is very reasonable. Plus you can do it in the intimacy of your own home. When do you plan to do it? Don't worry, sweetie... because we have no way of knowing for sure if we're heading towards a BFN or a BFP, the PMA fluctuates. I'm sure you'll be back on the BFP side before long; I sure wish you that. :) *hug* Hang in there sweetie!

Jul1e: how are you doing?

Shantala: has AF arrived? Still jigging! :D

... and gosh, the thread is awfully quiet this weekend!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Sophie

Hi Ladies,

Sophie: I am actullay testing 14 days after ER since it was the may 30th. I thought it was pretty soon as well so we will see. Girl i am with you and being emotional, sometime i don't know if its the medication or just whats going on in the tummy, either way DH is not enjoying that side of me. Truly i just can't wait. I can't believe in 3 day everything may change in my life. Still some cramping, bloating and tender (.)(.)

jen: I share the same thoughts, now you got me thinking i may do the same, what's the difference right, you get the BFP sooner or the pain of the BFN you can start to get over with it, either way its a win win. I would love to see what a positive HPT looks like (silly i know).

Julie my 2ww buddy how are you coping, send a line.

Ltaylor, Good luck on your transfer this week, how many are you putting back?

babysoft, hrobinson, and Literatriz; how are you all doing with the stims 2ww coming very soon

Hey I agree with sophie this board is so quite

Hugs
Tia

Hi Ladies,

I've been working all weekend so am just catching up with you all now.

Tanya, it must be nice to be pregnant sleepy, I'm looking forward to being pregnant sleepy. I am presently pizza sleepy after stuffing my face!

Susan, sorry your Dad's been unwell, glad he seems to be doing better. Is your mum thrilled about your news? So you've been up in my neck of the woods. I'm in Glasgow. Are you from Edinburgh? Lots of luck for the scan. Thinking of you.

Sophie, glad you've made up with your friend. I too have been feeling distant from my best friend, we're going through such different difficult things just now that we just don't seem to be clicking and I really miss her. Friends are very important but like you say our relations with friends can be just as complicated as our relationships with our other halves. I'm suprised you're talking about doing a HPT, I'm thinking maybe Wednesday, we'll see.

Jen, sorry you're feeling down and teary. What day will you test? I'm with you about waiting for the phonecall, it was horrible last time and when I got it I cried and cried and then had to go to work. This time it's a Friday again and Friday, Saturday are my busiest days at work and I don't want to be upset so I'd be better off finding out on Thursday.

Tia, so you've avoided buying the HPT so far. I have a prediction to make, I think all four of us will be PingOAS this week! I just hope hope hope we'll see what we want to see!

Shantala, glad you're gettting going. It does come around fast, you'll be there in no time.

Well I'm still bloated and crampy but not emotional like you two Sophie and Jen, hope that's not a bad sign for me. My boobs are sore too but they were last time. Yesterday I peed like every 10 minutes in the afternoon which was weird but that's stopped now too. I think it's a severe case of "who knows"!

The hen last night was fun. It was an arabian restaurant with a belly dancer and henna tatooing. I got a cute flower chain tatooed round my ankle, it lasts about 10 days. My pregnant friend was there and I did chat to her a bit about the baby but I find it so hard as she got pregnant as soon as she started trying and then there's little me trying for over 3 years. If I'm pregnant on Friday it won't matter but if I'm not, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We've also got great friends who just got married and are trying and friends who are just about to get married who will be trying in 2 weeks time and friends with a two year old who are now trying for number two (she and I started trying for number one at the same time!). Please please please don't let any of them beat me to it, I don't think I could watch them go through it.

There, that's my venting done with my cyber pals. Thank you for allowing it!

So I think I'll POAS on Wednesday. Anyone else making POAS plans?

Hope you're all having a nice Sunday.

love Jules x

Sophie it sound like you have some good signs there. especially with (.)(.).

To everyone on 2ww i would stay away from hpt as they are evil and will not change your outcome but can make you lose your PMA if it is negative before your test date.

Julie yes i am an edinburgh girl originally. I did go to uni in glasgow many moons ago!!! i now live just out side London.

Hello girls!

One thing that I forgot to mention... yesterday, I had a BIG headache.. and it's still here today! Not as bad, but I still feel it even with a double dose of Tylenol Extra Strength! Sure didn't have that last time!

Shantala: great news! :D Glad our jigging worked! WOOHOO you're on your way to your BFP sweetie! It's amazing! The others are right; you'll be there before you know it. I'm amazed about how long they keep you downregging, though. At my clinic, it's never over 16 days, and from the look of it, you'll be downregging for almost a month! Anyway, since it's not the hardest part, I guess you'll be just fine! What do you want me to do with the dates? I'll add them to the list, and of course you're welcome to stay here during your cycle, however I don't know now many people will be left in July.

mommytobe: as I see, your emotional side involves spikes and claws! Hehehe in my case it's just being moved by everything and going AWWWWWWWWWW all the time. LOL! Geez, I'm cuddling DH all the time and I must tell him I love him 10 times more than usual! He sure isn't complaining, he's the cuddly type, too! Cramping, bloating and tender breasts are pretty standard for a 2ww. Get them too... it's really a shame that we can't have ONE symptom that couldn't be caused by progesterone! It's not silly at all to want to see a positive HTP! Geez, you can be sure I'd keep it if I had one! :D I know that technically, it sounds like a win-win situation: you're happy sooner if you get a BFP, or you start the grieving process sooner if you have a BFN, which softens the blow. Weeeeellllllll.... though it's exactly what made me do that HTP, it sure didn't work that way for me last time. The thing is, when you get a BFP, you're absolutely thrilled, but still cautious because you want a reliable result and it's the blood test. Until then, you're cautious, but happy. I could take that for sure. If you get a BFN, that's when things get tricky. Sure, it hits hard at first and you get all depressed. But soon enough, you remember all the countless comments you heard here, especially by Aunty, about all those women who tested negative on an HPT even the morning of their beta and still got a BFP with the blood test... and there you go, you start hoping again because you tell yourself that HPTs are not that reliable and maybe it's just because you tested too soon. Then you start spotting and it's devastating, but you start hoping again because many pregnant women do harmless spotting... then you get the blood test and if it's negative, it's still a blow. To me, that kind of roller coaster between HPT and beta is worse than just not knowing. At least you don't have these conflicting infos (BFN, but not reliable... and so on). So that's why to me, it's not really a win-win situation. Gbnut is absolutely right: getting a negative on an HPT does harm your PMA big time.

Jul1e: LOL love the pizza sleepy! :D I know it's surprising that I'm considering an HTP, but you'll probably be less surprised when you hear what I've finally settled for. It's super that your hen night was fun; that temporary tattoo seems lovely! I totally get you about your friends being pregnant before you. I sure took it as a slap on my face when it happened to others around me. It's silly, but you just want to be the next one to give the good news... and bang, someone else becomes pregnant and you still have no belly to show off. Last time it happened, it was a colleague/friend of my husband. She was about 6 months along when she came to our house for brunch and it was the first time I saw her since she became pregnant. I had managed to avoid seeing her before even if I knew it was silly. Well, when she rang at the door, I ran downstairs to get more glasses and I made sure I stayed there for a couple minutes just to get used to her being in my house. I felt completely silly, but I was scared I might react and be cold with her and that would have been unfair to her. When I went upstairs, it went just fine and I had a great time and we talked about the baby of course, eventually. But even if it doesn't last... I do understand your reaction. *hugs*

gbnut: thanks for saying that hunny! Who knows? :D

So! The HTP decision is the following! I'll buy a First Response kit just because it's more sensitive, but I won't tell DH and I'll keep it hidden. And I'll wait until Wednesday afternoon when I come back from work. I'll be alone in the house. I'll probably have to go the bathroom right away after travelling back from work, so I'll do the test right away, as I'll be alone with the dog and the cat and the house will be all quiet. If it's negative, I won't panic for two reasons. It might still be a false negative and, as my DH said, we still have 3 comfy FET cycles ahead of us to become pregnant. I'll probably cry and I'll tell my DH about the test when he comes back home.

If it's positive, then I'll have the incomparable joy to be the one who'll break the news to him. I have prepared a card that I'll print in advance (so I'm not in a rush on Wednesday) with two cute teddy bears on it and a word from the babies inside wishing him a happy Father's Day in advance, plus a note from me of course... I'll make dinner and as we sit at the table and start eating, I'll give him the card.

The reason why I've settled for Wednesday afternoon is that, like Jul1e said, it would not be good for me to learn the news just before having to face a day at work. Our apt is on Thursday at 8:00am... so we'll go there, have my blood drawn, then wait for 30 minutes at the clinic and the nurse will come and tell us the news. Then we'll both already be late for work; I'll have to take the subway, and him the car. So basically, if I want to cry and vent, I'll do it in the car in the parking lot and in a hurry because I won't want to miss too much work and I won't want my DH to miss too much either, even if of course neither of us would want to push the other in the back. Then we'd have to wait till the evening to see each other again. Awful.

So I figured that it was best to do it that way. The thing I didn't like about my last HPT is that I did it too early before beta day. If I do it the night before, there won't be much room to roller coaster for nothing if the news is different the next day. Last time, we did the blood test on a Sunday, it was a different situation.

What do you guys think?

Okay, so take care ladies, and I'll see you around!

Sophie...Ithink that is a great idea to test the day before your beta. Last time I had a BFP and heard the news from my RE, I tested at home anyway...just to see that POSITIVE! I'll be thinking and pray for a BFP for you!!!

Well...as for me, I started to run a low grade fever, 99.6. I took 2 tylenol and 15 minutes later it was down to 99.1. My last cycle I ran a fever before my transfer (b/c of the allergic reaction to the PIO) and had to go into the hospital. So I am a little nervous. Should I call my RE in the morning...I am so confused. Is this normal during the 2WW??? Please help...I need some encouraging thoughts!!

Sophie that sounds like a very well thought out beautiful plan. I wish you all the luck with that BFP!! Sending prayers and BFP vibes your way.

Jen779- I would call just to make sure it wouldn't hurt right? That way you can rest your mind and take it easy.
