Someone mentioned this web site earlier, but this is the "typical" protocol for IVF in the states. Some meds may be different at different clinics.

http://www.advancedfertility.com/sampleivfcalendar.htm

At the same time, I would not consider this the ONLY way. Doctors will develop your protocol based on your individual needs. We are all so different and have different diagnosis.

I am sorry to hear your cycle was cut short, but this will give some time to research what will work for you.

Still on Lupon and waiting for AF and baseline U/S end of week. No major side effects from the Lupron, a little drowsy and some minor aches. Trying to keep a positive outlook.

Sorry for the double post. The only thing I can come up with for June is JUNEBEES for a name of those cycling this month. I won't be offended if it is not taken so feel free to come up with any others.

Hi all, wow seems like I missed a bit of stuff. My last BCP was on Thursday and I started AF on Saturday. I actually got my first hot flash this morning. That was wierd.

My baseline ultrasound and bloodwork will happen tomorrow, so looking foward to that.

icsipixie: I am going to be on progesterone suppositories instead of the PIO.

Good luck to everyone this week!

Hi girls. How is everyone today? I did finally get AF yesterday! Yeah! I had my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork this morning. The doctor said my endometriomas were stable and my ovaries were relatively quiet, so as long as my bloodwork comes back normal, I start stims tonight. SCARED! I'm going to take you're advice and numb my tum before injecting the stims.

I didn't know you could do progesterone suppositories! I'd love to do that instead of the injections. I'm going to ask my RE.

Hope everyone is having a great day today!

good morning ladies, just got to work and back from my apt and so far all is well from what the doc has told me i had about 6 to 8 follies on the rt side with the biggst being about a 14 and i had about 6 to 8 follies on the lt side with the biggest also being about a 14. so now here is where the confusion lies what do those numbers mean they also drew blood today and said they were checking my estrogen level, the doc said to continue the lupron on the 5 line an the gonal-f at the 150iu does and he will see me again on wed for the same thing sp hopefully everything goes well and i will be either triggering sat nite or sun day nite with retrieval estimated for the 19th so crossing fingers that everything goes well until then hope all you ladies are doing well

rockrat71 def numb the tum my advice is put some ice or an ice pack on it for a few mins until numb and you wont feel the needle at all....oh yeah and fyi for those taking gonal-f regardless if your tum is numb or not you wont feel the injection but you will feel the meds it stings going in my nurse told me that was all normal so just so you know what to exspect.

so i took a little looksy at the may.june thread...does anyone know how they got those smileys? they are so cute! anyway hope all is well with you all and good luck to those that are starting stims. dont be surprised ifyou dont feel anything i dont feel a thing going on in there and for a while i didnt think it was working until i saw it today on the u/s so have a great day ladies!

On a positive note, AF is here!! Yeah! Who would have ever thought I would be excited about that? :?

Melanie - congrats on AF's arrival. I hope you get to start stimming tonight.

Brandi - grow follies grow!!

Everyone else, here's hoping that all of us start stimming very soon.

Keri, I can relate about mom...my mom wants to know each and every detail...DH's mom too... arrggghhh!!!

I started stims tonight and man did I have a time! YIKES! It was definitely harder than the lupron shots. There was such resistance when trying to do the injection itself, as if my fat in my tummy wouldn't take it! I was afraid to push too hard and as a result left a tiny bit of medicine inside the syringe. I will push harder in the morning. I hope the 1/20 of stim that didn't get in is okay.

DH is driving me nuts...would it be to much to have a little sympathy?!! I was emotional tonight and he's like...it's okay...it's just something we have to do. WE?!!! Ummmm...are you a human pincushion? All you have to do is provide a sample!! I was soooo mad! Grrr!!! He's a good sport though...he's handling my mood swings quite well all things considered. Sorry for the vent!!!

I was all excited to start stims and I'm happy to be able to but frankly I just feel cranky today! I thought I wasn't having any kind of symptoms but for the last two days I've had a dull headache and I feel nausous. No one understands unless they're going through it. I'm so glad I found this board!!! :hugs: Melanie

Keri and Melanie,
It has been my experience that no one knows what it is like to to go through this $@#&ing infertility journey. My family and friends try to be supportive, but we end up talking about it for maybe five minutes, then they are ready to move on to their subjects- usually redecorating a room or the vacation they're about to go on, etc... It's hard for me to talk my friends through their little arguments with their husbands when I'm going through, in my mind, something monumentally more important. But then, I'm sure their problems are just as important to them. It's just hard- I want to scream, "BUT YOU HAVE CHILDREN-SHUT UP!!!" Even DHs don't know the scope of what we're going through. I guess it would be like if someone had cancer- I wouldn't REALLY know what that's like! Oh well, just rambling......

Hi

Post by laurie35 »

Hello All :)

Well i took my first injection lastnight, Gonel F, all went well, i mean its not something i look forward to dont get me wrong but i dont find them so bad.
However what i do find slightly irritating is the way my Dh stands over me while im doing it telling me ,how fantasticly well im doing, and oh how he wishes he could do more, yet then plonks his bottom on the sofa while i wash up!!

I dont mean to moan, hes great really, its just he has this whole "if it works, it works and if it doesnt it doesnt" attitude, which as were on our 4th attempt drives me crazy!

Anyhoo enough moaning, anyone got any good tips on what works and what doesnt, while were stimming? exercise?

Speak soon

I have two questions:
1. Is your period after the bcp and while on Lupron the same as a regular period- lighter? heavier? I'm waiting for mine to come anyday- hopefully today or tomorrow and wanted to know if I should expect a "regular" one.
2. How long does the stim medicine sting? Is it just while going in or longer?
Thanks!!
