Tracey - Midwife Appt.

Hi Tracey How did your midwife appt. go? I don't see mine until the 10th July so I'm wondering whether I should contact them and bring it forward? I'll be nearly 16 weeks then with twins!!!! LOL Emma

hey Emma s'only me Have you not had any meeting with your midwife yet? They usually like to see you early to get your booking in forms done to get the ball rolling - get your nhs card (for free prescriptions and dental care etc). Then again at 12 weeks to have routine blood and urine tests. Well that's how they do it in Berkshire anyway. Maybe different over there. I'd definately ring and tell them how many weeks you are and that you haven't seen anyone. I'd try and bring it forward if it was me, just to get things going. Plus they have to write off to the hospital you've chosen to refer you to a consultant and and get a date for your 20 week scan etc. I registered with my m/w at 8 weeks I think it was, and I haven't had my appointments through yet - it takes a while me thinks. Just give them a call and see what they say, put your mind at rest. Hi you two twinnies At home today and had the night from hell - convinced myself was losing them - had been sick yesterday morning - not like me and last night lost the entire content of my stomach but was not like pg sickness - then had awful stabbing pains and tender abdomen with wind from hell and the hot/cold feverish sweats - thought it might be food poisoning and then worried about the violent tenderness and stabbing pains low left abdomen - almost groin - got about 3 hours sleep and felt like had been run over by a bus this morning. So sod work and rung in sick - they were fine - tough titties (speaking of which had a small flap when didn;t hurt so much this morning so have been prodding ever since!) No bleeding though which I am taking as a good sign and burst into tears when realised had not left DH a message on his voicemail which I do every day! Midwife was fine if not an hour late! I know her - she lives in my village and have met at various wine tastings when we are pissed. She is always happy to see me at home. Needed the referral for the nuchal and she does all this not the gp who I probably won't see - he's as mad as a badger - yes worse than me! She sent off my referral form and should hear back soon for the nuchal. Hope all ok. Then I see her at 16 weeks unless I need her before - did not get my forms though - do you two have yours? I mean need some freebies don't we! Hope you are both well and sort out those midwife apppointments - it always helps to know them. Love Tracey xxx

Hi All I am just trying to catch up with everything that as been happening on the site while its been down and while I haven't been able to get on. Tracey are you having twins? I have had my first appointment with the midwife and it is going ok, she as gave me paperwork to fill in, had to fill in all the forms to get free prescriptions etc. I have an appointment on Friday to see the care consultant so hopefully it will all go ok. Hi All Poor you Tracey, feeling better now I hope? Sarah, I have been to my gp and had all the forms, and know my consultant will be the same as the one who looked after me during my IVF. I was just a little concerned that I haven't had my urine checked, my blood because I know I get anneamic (can't spell) when I'm pregnant. Yes, I've had a bump since the beginning, because my OHSS hasn't gone down yet, my ovaries at my nuchal scan were still very enlarged. Still get morning sickness now and again, my body is quite veiny and still get tired very easily. Can I ask you all a really silly question? Do you ever wonder whether everything is still ok, I have this vision of one of mine not surving silly I know, but I have heard of one not surving but you not losing it because the other takes from it!!! Emma x

Hi Trace Sorry to hear you've had a rough couple of days - I hope a day at home resting has made you feel better? I had a couple of bouts of really bad sickness, etc at about 8/9 weeks. It was all I could do to get up off the sofa - felt sick, really hot, diarohea (never know how to spell that), was sick, headache, couldn't eat, etc. Luckily it didn't last more than a couple of days. still not sure if it was something I'd eaten or morning sickness?? Tracey - sorry to hear you were feeling vile - do you think that it could have been a stomach upset, and with added pains and aches from your ulcerative colitis? I know it's an inflammatory disease so could something you'd eaten earlier have set you off? Hope you're feeling back to normal today, but think it's normal to feel worse on some days. Love sallyx

Hi all thanks for all the support - feeling better but couldn't have felt much worse - very nauseous - but managed to hold on to breakfast. Some git has booked me a high powered lunchtime meeting with a large practice - just hoping can get throught it ok!!! Shell - no just the one not twins - that was directed at Emma and Sarah. Helen know what you mean not sure if was stomach upset either Sally - could be anything - still feel dodgy. Emma I frequently think that or worry that not growing or stunted etc. Oh dear aren't we a nightmare - suppose I should be grateful I feel like doo doo - good sign I hope. Can't want for Nuchal now and then worry baby will have a neck at thick as Mr Dursley in Harry potter (yes have just read the new book). I haven't had any forms to fill out for free prescriptions yet - what's that about? Love to all Tracey xxxxx

Morning!! Harry Potter mania has got this site as well! I'm a quarter of the way through - good fun, eh! I'm sure youre baby will look nothing like Mr Dursely (I can picture it now - a cross between Mr Dursley and a badger - attractive!). I can't remember what the form's called but you basically have to fill out your details and it gets sent off to some dhss office somewhere. A couple of weeks later you get a card sent through the post entitling you to free prescriptions and free dental work for a year. Hope your meeting goes OK and you don't throw up over the client - not good for business that! LOL Helen xx

Have discovered a couple of really good things that really help with the nausea, and stop you dry retching like my cat (not attractive - DH thought I was going to pog up onto our drive yesterday!) Twinings do lemon and ginger herbal tea bags - don't taste too vile and really work, esp with a dry cracker or something similar. Also, read previously on this site so bought some - Sea Bands acupressure bands from Boots - just shove em on the wrists and they take the nausea away within about 10 mins. Sniffing peppermint esential oil is supposed to work as well, but haven't tried that yet. the only thing is I have been wearing my wrist bands so much that when i take them off I have a small red dot on each wrist, so look like I have joined a weird dotty wrist cult, and when I'm wearing them look like an eighties tennis player!

HElen thanks for that - did not manager to honk or even do the cat thing sally. wrist bands are a good idea but at work - how do I explain that? Now just have stomach pains not sure if a bug or something and feel light headed and weird - even more than normal. Finished Harry Potter yesterday and then had some weird dream that voldermort (should I mention his name) took my baby away and it turned into wormtail - yuk! - is there therapy? Love Tracey xxxxxxx

I have had to wear long sleeved shirts and hide them underneath, then when it passes off I whip them off! Sounds like some sort of bug (or perhaps possession by You Know Who). Am waiting for DH to finish the HP book first, but would view it as a very sinister sign - perhaps you should draw a protective pentagram around your bed!
