Suzhan,

I haven't been one for a while and wanted to see how you are doing? Sorry you are on bedrest, but that is the best thing. My dr. was telling me last week that one I get past 30 weeks, that's a relief, because most babies born after 30 wks do great without developmental problems. I know bedrest can be boring, but you'll miss it when the baby comes :) Hang in there and post how you are doing..I'll be thinking of you.

Mia,

Congrats on your twins!! That's exciting..I remember you from the other board. Good luck!!

Hey Cindy - good to see you! Hope you and the twins are doing great. I bet your getting big and ready to see your little ones!

Unfortunately, I had another bleed on Monday so my doctors now admitted me to the hospital until I deliver. This is primarily due to the fact that I've now had 2 bleeds and the chances that I will have another is very high. My doctors said there's a small chance, but still a chance, that this next bleed will be the hemmorhage that causes me to lose all my blood. Even though I'm only 10-15 minutes from the hospital, they won't let me go home because I might not make it back to the hospital in time if I had a major hemorrhage. I need to be minutes from the operating room where they can do an emergency c-section and deliver me the units of blood that are on hold for me right now.

I can hardly believe I'm going to be in the hospital for weeks and weeks. It's pretty surreal, but after a few days here, I've come to terms with it. I do get to have someone push me in a wheelchair once a day somewhere within the hospital. I always have them take me to the newborn nursery so I can see the babies and try to keep my eyes focused on the prize. I haven't been in the NICU yet, but they do want me and DH to tour the NICU too since there's a reasonable chance our baby could be there too.

DH was a gem (as always) and got me a wireless card for my laptop so at least I can lay in bed and surf the net.

Lola - still looking to hear how the twins are doing. I hope you're all doing well. I've been thinking about you!

Sam - thanks for your words of encouragement, it means a lot, and I love to hear positive stories of babies born early but after week 30. I'm almost to 31 weeks and everyone tells me each additional week I make it is a major milestone for the baby, but that we're basically out of the 'scary' zone. If the baby did have to come now, he/she would be in NICU for a number of weeks, but most likely would be healthy. That does give me some hope.

Anyway, take care all, hope you're all well.

suzhan, I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I'm glad that the doctors are taking such good care of you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I pray that the baby can stay safely inside another day.

cinders, thank you so much. I am very excited and can't wait to meet my sons. :) Still seems a little unreal, but with every kick and punch I am reminded that there are 2 little guys arriving soon. Hope you are well, I look forward to hearing about the arrival of your twins. :)

Lola, how are you? Any news?

hi Cherie, Welcome. All of us here had our first cycle in August of 2006 and are pregnant or have given birth. I wish you luck with your upcoming cycle. Sticky baby dust to you!

I feel like I'm bursting at the seams. It's like I'm growing faster than ever. Getting lots of round ligament pain above the belly. I'm a little over half way there. yay! :D

Suzhan,

I wanted to let you know that I check email often and I am here to keep you occupied if you get bored. To be honest,t hose hosptial beds are the best when you get big and uncomfortable. every day (not just a week) is a milestone. Your baby will be fine and so will you. Keep up the good spirits. Maybe it is time to learn to knit or scrapbook. I had a friend who did that during her hosptial time and now she is addicted.

Suzhan --- I am sure your baby will be fine, the major week is the 28th week, so don't worry. I cannot imagine to be on bedrest for so long. I had to be on bedrest for 4 days and I was already going crazy. And that was at the comfort of my home. I would feel good though that I am so close to everything in the case of the emergency. How cool that you can use the computer and we can be in touch!

Mia --- I was growing very fast too! I bought a shirt and wore in only a couple weeks and then had to buy another one. Now my belly is so big it holds a glass of milk or a small plate when I am sitting. Can you believe? I should take a picture of it and put it in my album! Good to hear you are doing so well. You are half way there! It seems like the second half goes by much faster...

Sam --- how is motherhood? I cannot wait to experience it. We should start posting pictures of our babies somewhere.

I am getting really big, as I said. I used to be really skinny and I have gained over 60 pounds! My doctor says most of it is water, since I am retaining a lot! My feet get so swollen that sometimes I cannot even walk! I have to put my feet up for 5-6 hours a day and they are still huge. My babies are doing really well though. They are each over 5 pounds each already! I cannot believe! Their amn.fluid went back up as well. They are giving me only 2-3 more weeks, not more than that, so I will deliver between now and the end of June!!!! So I am starting to get nervous. Everything is ready though. The last thing I did today was that I bought some nursing bras. It is hard for me to go shopping at this stage, I can only do one store and go back home. I get tired very quickly and feel really heavy. I will keep you posted on everything!!!!

Angie and Vicky - thank you, thank you for your good wishes! I'm keeping tabs on you both over on the general forum and sending you lots of positive thoughts for your upcoming cycles. The hospital nurses are very nice and kind (for the most part) - I've already figured out my favorites.

Lola - so glad to hear from you and get an update on the twins. I was worrying, but I see there was no need! And, 5 lbs each already, whew, no wonder you're wiped out. Glad to hear the amnio fluid is back up. Are you feeling those BH contractions yet? I'm getting them now quite a bit, but am on medication to try and keep them to a minimum. They're so wierd, first time I felt one I didn't even know what it was (I kept telling DH, "feel how hard my belly is!"). 2-3 weeks is soooo close - are you getting excited? I'll probably (hopefully) be just a few weeks after you! Have you toured L&D and post-partum yet? I found out this hospital has private post-partum rooms, which is really nice. There's a super big one that's extra nice too, so I'm going to try and request that one :D . I have plenty of free time to do these kinds of things these days...hee hee......

Mia - so great to hear about your twins too....I agree w/ Lola, the second trimester flew by for me. The first tri was so slow (probably because I was a nervous wreck the whole time.) Are you getting things ready?

Sam - you're right that the hospital beds are pretty comfy...they put a special egg crate on mine so I have some extra cushion. Sleeping, in general, has become difficult. They offer me sleeping medicine (ambien) but I've been trying to do without it, since I don't want to be that out of it and I figure I'm already on medicine and my baby probably doesn't need any more. How's the breastfeeding going? Any tips?

I have been able to do lots of on-line shopping (perhaps to the dismay of DH, hee hee... :? ) It's one of the few things I can do from here so I'm taking advantage of it, though.

Take care everyone.....

Suzhan,
Thanks for thinking of me so much. I hope everything goes well for you! At least you will be very well rested when the time comes! It is hard to rest at home, as I always find things to do!
I haven't felt any of those BH contractions, even though I read a lot about it. Maybe I have them but don't feel them? I don't know. My hospital is also very nice with private rooms, etc. I hope to get a nice one too. Even at the doctor's office I get the best equiped room since I am having twins. I am a bit scared of the C-section, but at least I don't have to push twice and everything will go faster.
Take a good care of yourself, rest a lot and write again soon! Good luck! Lola

Hi All - I know it's been awhile. I just had to take a break and get my head back on straight after the Cancel from last time. It was a lot to take. However, we have decided with a lot of thought put into it to try 1 more time. I actually started lupron today. If all goes as planned we will retrieve on the 4th of July. The hard part this time is it is out of our pocket. So, if anyone knows where a good place to get Menapur is I would greatly appreciate it!

I just wanted you all to know that even though I didn't communicate I prayed so much for all of you! I have smiles reading all the updates and can't wait to add my name to the list!

Keep us in your prayers!

Emily - what a wonderful surprise to hear back from you. I'm so excited you're starting another cycle. I will keep you in my prayers every day and am here for you anytime during this cycle. ER on July 4th sounds like a lucky day to me! I'm sorry I can't give you tips on where to get low cost med's, but I'm sure there are ladies on the general forum who might have some ideas. In the meantime, if you need any moral support, you know we're all here for you!

Take care.

Emily--

Welcome back!! You are now getting all my wishes. I hope it sticks and you will be blessed with a baby.

lola----Wholly cow, you are due so soon. I am sure we will not hear from you as often as I imagine twins will be exhuasting. Remember C-sections are a walk in the park....I bet even easier than a natural birth. recovery is pretty easy as well although Twins may make it more difficult. I felt like a true rock star afterwards. I think pregnancy was so uncomfortable at the end that I felt wonderful after the c-section. I had to remind myself not to over do it.

Suzhan----I am not going to lie....breastfeading is the hardest part of motherhood (for me). I have discovered that most woman feel the same and I just was not prepared. If I knew it was going to be hard maybe I would have been more prepared. I give myself quitting dates and keep pushing it back. It helps me mentally to do that. I am now on eight weeks (i said I was going to quit at six then eight but I am still going) It does get better but if it is not for you do not let the lactation nurses make you feel bad or guilty ( I have discovered they do do that). It is not necessary the pain or the problems that come along with breastfeeding but it is the time/length it takes. I swear, I felt like I lived and dies feeding and it was exhausting.

I am here to support you on it as I think woman need support on it.

Sydney is doing great...she is eight weeks today and just growing. She is in the 95% in weight which makes us laugh. I took her on a flight by myself this week and we had a great bonding time. It was fun to have her all to me. I am so in love with her and can't wait for you all to experience it. She is food shopping right now with her daddy!!!

Love,

Sam

Hello ladies--I have been away far too long and I have missed a whole lot of action.

Suzhan-I'm so sorry about your scare. How are you coping with bedrest? How are you doing?

Lola- Your time is almost here! Do you feellike you are mentally, physically and emotionally ready? Have you decided on names for your munchkins?

Sam-I'm sorry that breastfeeding has been difficult for you. How are you enjoying motherhood? Are you sleeping much? What would you say is the biggest misconception or biggest surprise about motherhood?

To everyone else, I hope all is well and you are progressing nicley.

I had 2 scares ofmy own last week. To make an incredibly long story short, I was hospitalized last Friday night and Monday morning due to painful cramping and back pain. I was released after several hours on both days. It turns out that I wasnt drinking enough H20. I thought that 2 liters a day was enough, but apparently not. I was told to increase it to at least 3 liters. I have been living on the toilet, but no cramping.

I had my baby shower at work yesterdayand was so overwhelmed by the generosity of the staff. Can you believe that I was given $425 worth of amex cards? After my family shower, at the end of the month, DH and I intend on buying whatever else we may need.

I can't believe that we are approaching the end of this long journey! Hope all is well!

Wannababy --- It is so great to hear from you again! I am glad you are back home from the hospital and everything is going well. I had a slight fluid problem as well and it is back to normal now. As far as names we have some in mind, but we may still change it, so I will let you know soon. My doctor won't let me go past 37 weeks, so if I don't start having contractions this or next week, they will schedule my c-section for the last week of June. I think I am starting to feel ready. Just like Sam, I started feeling very uncomfortable and I keep waking up at night.

Sam --- I cannot wait to experience everything. Sydney must be already smiling a lot by this time.. Thanks for the advice about the c-section, I am really scared of that. I cannot imagine it is all coming in less than 3 weeks!
I have heard breastfeeding may be painful, I hope I can feed both babies, since it is the best source of food for them.

Emily --- Nice to hear from you! We are all here to cheer you up. I hope and wish everything goes well this time with your cycle. Too bad I just gave my Menopur away to my clinic. I had it in the fridge and it had an expiration date in August, so I knew I would not be able to use it again. Sending lots of babydust your way!

Suzhan ---- How have you been? Still doing lots of online shopping? I love to shop online, it is so convenient!

Thank you all so much for your wonderful thoughts. You don't realize how much you miss all of this support until you get back on and see how everyone is doing. It is so hard to go thru this as it is and you all make it so much easier cuz you all can relate!
