New and 1st time IVF Patient starting in July!

Post by tiffany19 »

Hey girls (and guys!?),
I'm 27 years old, teacher/cheer coach from Atlanta, using Dr. Hasty and nurse Tammy, working on month 1 of IVF process, getting all my beginning bloodwork and procedures done and planning on starting the injections in July with an August retrevial and transfer.

Making a really long story short, last year (right before I got married), I passed out while teaching, got rushed to the hospital, they found 2 canteloupe size tumors on both of my ovaries with my fallopian tubes wrapped around them, and 2 liters of fluid in my uterus! I had to sign for a hysterectomy, but luckily, my oncologist was amazing and took his time and was able to save my ovaries. I had the HSG test with some abnomalities because of scar tissue and everything is fine with my husband's seman analysis, so after trying to conceive for a year, IVF is the next step! We are really excited and scared, but just so thankful that we still have an opportunity to try for a baby!!!

I look forward to chatting with you all and going through this process!!

Hi Tiffany,

My name is Marie and I joined this site a few weeks ago. I am 30yrs old.
Yes there are lots of bloods and test to do and you kinda think when are they going to stop sucking my blood.
It sounds like you and I are on the same path as I have my final test result coming in so our appointment is all booked in and he said that we should be right to go from there as on that day we are also signing all the paper work and that is happening this month being June.

Well what a day in the office you poor thing, but at least now you know and you can only go forward from here on.
I to had the hsg everything was fine with that.

We are all in the same head space of being scared and excited and I think that it is more so for us females as we are the ones that have to do the majority of the tests, my husband only had 1 blood test and a semen sample and that was it. Then I whinge that I have to make this appointment and that I have to go and do this test etc but he has no idea of what all the prodding around really feels like.

Well I hope that we can chat so take care and I look forward to hearing from you.
