Hi all. I've just today started reading about OHSS and all the scary parts of IVF! I told myself I wouldn't read it and I did. Shame on me. Once I get going on Google there's no stopping me! I called my nurse with a million more questions. I swear she thinks I'm nuts. LOL! She told me to STOP READING. I am a bit nervous. Is there ANYthing that can be done to head off OHSS? Or is just going to happen if it's going to happen?

Jen...interesting about how ACRM went back to the PIO shots. I guess we'll need to suck it up. I'm not sure I trust DH!! LOL. YIKES!!

Goodevening All :)

Well just taken my 3rd Gonel F injection, dont mind the needles just the stinging as it goes in, thats the pain!

I too have been drinking at least 2ltrs of water aday, my nurse told me that it can prevent OHSS, and also aid the medication, thank goodness i work from home as it seems i spend most of my time on the toilet.

My baby Hi, well it seems that my Af was pretty much there and then it was gone.
Im normally(when not on IVF) quite heavey however this time it lasted 3 days only and the 3rd day like i said was pretty much gone, hooray!!

I think some how we should try to find out how to get all those smillies like the ladies have on the other cycle thread, theres looks sooooo pretty :D

Hi Laurie
I have posted a message on the May/June thread asking if one of those Ladies could point us in the right direction for the smilies and banners. Hopefully they will get back to us soon!

Cool! I love their smilies!

Thanks for the water tip! I better step up my water consumption. I definitely don't drink 1/2 gallon a day of it.

Well, my period arrived today, so that's good. I have my u/s Friday. I wanted to know if anyone is having any Lupron side effects. I have never been depressed before and I don't even get PMS (don't hate me) but today I woke up feeling weepy, ditsy, and depressed. This is not normal for me- it has to be the Lupron, right? Has anyone felt this?
Rockrat, the internet provides us with too much info sometimes. I know I obsessively "research" every term and condition as it relates to infertility. Try not to worry too much- easier said than done!!

Jen, congrats on AF's arrival! Yay!

I think it could be the Lurpon. I largely did not feel any side effects from it other than hot flashes and headaches but I was a little bit emotional too...maybe more so than usual. I thought...though it may be in my head...that I felt noticeable difference when I dropped down from 10cc to 5cc and started stimming. I felt the side effects go away largely. So far on the stims, I have had no side effects. I hope none come!

Looking at some of the other threads and I see accupuncture mentioned a lot. Do you girls know anything about it (pros/cons) or are any of you doing it? Just curious.

When I start stimming my protocol will be:

225 units of Follistim 2 times daily
75 units of Menopur 2 times daily
5 cc lupron 1 time daily

I did acupuncture twice for my last IUI in May. Obviously, it didn't work, but it was very relaxing. My insurance doesn't pay for it, so we are not doing it.
