any new BFP out there?

Post by lola98 »

Hi everyone!

I just got a BFP (6-12)!!!! 9dp5dt was 153. I go back tomorrow (6-14) for
my second beta and am excited but nervous. I am having OHSS so my abdomen is so swollen and tender, I keep thinking it is AF but so far no bleeding. Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat, with either BFP or OHSS.

Hi Lola -

Congratulations!?! It is so exciting. I just recently got a BFP on June 7th and my clinic doesn't test until a week later. Unfortunately, I am traveling overseas so I need to wait until June 18th to finally get another blood test.

I can only imagine the discomfort of OHSS, on top of the symptoms that I am experiencing! For about 60% of the day, I feel like I am just about to get AF and feel bloated as well. I have read from many other posts and it is normal. Actually, I rather prefer feeling something versus nothing...as it makes it more real.

I do hope that we get a group of us together who are due in February. It will be so helpful to go through this journey together.

Keep us posted on your test results,

Colleen

Thank you, Meg and Colleen for your replies. Congrats to both of you, too. It is so helpful to have folks to "talk" to...I have only told two of my friends so far. They were both IVFers too. I was going to wait to tell others and family until we had a sonogram. I just found out today when they drew my second beta (results not until tomorrow) that they don't do the sono until 7.5 weeks! Does that seem like a long time? I guess after everything else, we should be used to waiting. The nurse today told me that my OHSS looked "definitely uncomfortable, but managable". Assuming second beta comes back ok, I seriously am going to have to go buy maternity pants this weekend which scares me to death b/c it makes me think I am going to jinx myself but I am down to one pair that fits and I have worn them the past 3 days!!! and they are not that cute!!! any thoughts?

Colleen, I will be thinking of you on the 18th. And I do, in a weird way, agree with you about the soothing nature of the symptoms. The nurse said my OHSS would be gone by now if I weren't preggers, so I think about that whenever I am feeling the worst. Hope your trip is wonderful!

Mind if I join in. I jst got BFP yesterday. It was 187. I go in for another one tomorrow. This is my first IVF, my last preganacy was one year ago and miscarried at 15wks. So I am bit nervous.
