mdterry- sorry your not able to enjoy your preg, I cannot believe the fertility DR didn't give you the sugar level heads up. It'll all work out, keep pumping out the PMA

My2LnT- What a great picture! I cannot wait to see HB.....Monday is so far away, I did make an appointment with OB also for next Friday, hopefully I didn't jump the gun.

mdterry and noodle - i'm so sorry about your losses. they both had cancer? so young. mdterry, if you thought it would give her peaceful thoughts, i hope you got to tell her your news.

christine - can you bring your father an u/s picture? your daughter must be a toughy if she is accompanying you.

mdterry - is there anything you can do to lower the numbers? certain foods you should be avoiding? i just don't get the correlation b/w defects and glucose levels. have you found info. to support this?

rikirees - i agree about the news. i was kidding. although last night i saw a woman with 6. i am having a singleton. knock on wood.

Hi Wannabeone, Yes, I'm doing OK at keeping my numbers down as low as possible which includes eating minimum carbs, so of course I'm hungry all the time. I do take insulin shots so that helps also. I just hope there's no damage from the previous high numbers. I'm doing a lot of research on the net and can't wait for my appt. at the Joslin Diabetes pregnancy program on Friday to ask tons of questions.

My sister died from complications of Sickle Cell Anemia. She was 37. I didn't get to tell her my news because I wanted to make sure my numbers were doubling before telling anyone.

Thanks everyone.
Mattie

mdterry- isn't the internet the best...I love MD.com or webmd. Good Luck on Friday!

my sister was 34, brain cancer, she had a 16month old when she passed. My BIL has done such a good job raising her. I feel my sister watching over me everyday...10 years later she's still her and it's very comforting.

I cannot believe it's my birthday...I almost forgot! Too many things going on.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you so much for your support! So sorry to hear about all of the losses in your lives. I lost my only sibling - my brother 3 years ago and my Dad's youngest brother 2 years ago and my family hasn't been right since.

I had my 10 week checkup with my OB today and things are great. We got to hear our angel's hearbeat of 160bpm. We opted to have the First Trimester screening which is a blood test and ultrasound between weeks 11-13. I will also have the Level 2 scan at 18 weeks.

Well I must go to bed now since we have a little bit of a car ride ahead of us tomorrow. I wish you all the very best. I will post when I get a chance. Take Care!

Hey guys. I just want to let you know that the preggie pops work. They are great. I am going to buy some more of those things.

Christine
So glad that everything went well at the appointment and that you got to hear the heartbeat!!! Isnt that wonderful music to your ears??? I love hearing it. I never get sick of hearing it. I am so sorry to hear that your father is doing so poorly. I am glad that he has hospice to help him through these last months. They really are a great group and help the family out as well. I hope that you have as good of a visit as you can!!!

wannabe
Make sure that you are pasting the one that is for fertility boards and not blogs. That was my first mistake.

Noodle
Happy Birthday!!!!

mdterry
I just want you to know that I have two friends who had babies with type I and they are both fine. One girl had an insulin pump and one was conventional. Other than their babies being a little large for gestational age they were fine!!!! Please do not get up in arms about that your sugars are not that bad at all. I know what the text books say but I am telling you that they had perfectly fine babies. Do what you can. I am thinking that you will be fine if you watch what you can!!! I know that they can scare you like crazy. Both of them were watched very carefully and it worked out good. Hang in there and try to enjoy your pregnancy-this is a special time in your life that you wont get back!!! Enjoy It girl!!!!!!

Steph
I know how you feel about seeing the little heartbeat! I feel the same way about it every time I get an ultrasound! I always want to see it! I can't wait to get my doppler and hear it. Wooo HOOOO

Rikirees
That is so cute about your RE!!! That is a great relationship! I am so happy for you. I would love to be on rest patrol soon! LOL I can't wait until they say no more work for you! I am just a waiting!!!!!

Tanya, Thank you so much. I can't tell you how much that makes me feel. I did find a 'Pregnant with Diabetes' board on iVilliage and I think that's going to be a wonderful board for me. And you right, my numbers aren't that bad compare to what I've read on that board. Most of the ladies have already delivered and their babies were fine and their numbers were a lot higher than mine. I think my Drs are doing a great job of informing me of my odds (scare tactics). I am doing a great job at keeping my numbers low so I feel much better.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOODLE! Are you doing anything fun? Mines is in July and have no idea what I'm going to do.

Well, I'm off to Boston for a few days. Me and my daughters. I'll check-in on Sunday or Monday.

Have a good weekend.

Malinka

I just went with a recommended doc. Do you know anyone that could recommend someone? Also, there may be info on the internet about the docs you are seeing. If none of the above, I bet you'll just sense. After our journey, I felt strongly that I needed someone that would hold my hand and have good bedside manners. Not all do - many are skilled, but not as nuturing. I found someone who I believe to be both.

Good luck!

I agree with wannabeone, although the place that was recommended to me seemed a little too baby factory to me and not interested in making me comfortable....needless to say I switched! I ditto...we've all been through enough, this is the most important thing and it needs to be treated as such!

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes! Being pregnant is all I have wanted for the last 6 years, but DH still gave me perfume, flowers and a smelly thing for my desk at work. Smells are not my friend right now. I have an hour commute, very uncomfortable ride home yesterday so by the time I got home changed to PJ's and fell asleep on couch.......some exciting b-day, leftovers for dinner....such a jet setter! Still the best B-day in 10 years!

girls, thanks for your input, I just have to decide on a hospital yet too.
How do you go by choosing a hospital, besides the location?
