Hello mummies

It sounds like you are all putting your babies in grow bags what little chunks they are. They are all doing so well.

Vita, you are doing fantasticly. I can't even imagine what it would be like having three! Like Zoe says, one day something will just click and they will start sleeping through. I too am still waiting. Ellie still feeds every 3/4 hours.

Ellie is doing great. She's just over 5 months now and yesterday weighed in at a massive 11lb! She's finally out of newborn clothes and into 0-3. She's chuckling too which is lovely. She's still oxygen dependant and will be for a little while and is suffering with her reflux but all things considered she's a little star!

She has breakfast and dinner and loves being cuddled which I'm happy to oblige! I'm really enjoying her.

I had the fright of my life last night. Emma and Jodie were playing outside in the garden, I heard some shouting and thought they were aruging so just ignored them. I was feeding Ellie in the front room. Then the noise outside got louder, I looked out the window and they were screaming clinging on to the side of the pool! We have an 18ft inflatable pool and they thought they could walk across the cover! I've never been so scared in my life. Last weekend they cut each other's hair off this weekend they nearly drowned!

Best go and little chunk is calling

Gosh ladies, aren't all our little ones growing. Jo, I am so glad to hear that Ellie is doing so well...and she is beautiful! Sorry about your girls though but glad that nothing terrible happened. They really keep you on your toes don't they.

Tammy, Andrew is getting so big and even more adorable. I love the cheeky smiles! I am also pleased that he allowed you a sleep in on Mother's Day, what a special gift. I just thought I would add that I have the rainforest play gym and high chair!! Griffin especially loves the monkey....the tunes do my head in though.

Zoe, I can relate to the 15 week sleeping thing (or lack thereof)...I have just moved Griffin into his cot in his own room and he has started waking every 2 hours at night. I hope, like Ollie, it is something that will eventually pass and he will go back to 4-5 hourly waking, or better still, sleeping for 10 hours straight...luxury!

Vita, you sound like you are doing a fantastic job and I take my hat off to you. I cannot even begin to imagine how much work three babies are, one is plenty. I guess time is the cure all and you just need to hang in there until things get better...soon I hope!

I cannot believe how quickly Griffin is growing up. Like I said, he has grown out of his bassinet (well probably had grown out of it a while ago) and is sleeping in his cot. I cried when he went to his own room and I am still coming to terms with it.....and I thought he was the one that was supposed to develop separation anxiety. Mind you his cot is still only about 7 metres away from my bed! I cannot imaging how I am going to manage his first day care stay. In fact, I was planning to go back to work in September but have decided to wait until he is 12 months old! Hopefully I can prepare myself for that in the meantime.

I am having so much fun being a mum. Griffin is laughing now (I love it) and is really interacting with his environment and us. It seems like every day he does something new and I am continually amazed. I still can't quite believe that he is ours!

I hope everyone else and their bubs are doing really well...we are all obviously busy!! I will post some piccies on photobucket when I get a chance...we seem to have a constant stream of houseguest....is this normal?? So I never get time for anything.

Hello Ladies:

Heather: Thanks for the compliments on Andrew. Andrew has the rainforest mobile, bouncer chair and swing. He loves them! He is growing like a weed and has developed a real personality. He giggles at me a lot. I sing silly songs to him and he just smiles. I can't imagine life without him!!!!! I have his pack-n-play beside my bed. I can't imagine moving him upstairs to his room. When he grows out of the pack-n-play, I may move his crib downstairs into our room. I told my DH that our house is not meant for small children or babies, as our master bedroom is downstairs and all other bedrooms are upstairs. I sometimes place my hand lightly on his chest to make sure that he is breathing. I don't blame you about not wanting to send Griffin to childcare yet. It is a difficult thing to do. Luckily, DH and I are working out our schedules so that one of us will be with Andrew at all times. We have one day where my mother and father will watch the little guy for a few hours.

Poor guy has been having trouble with the breast feeding in the past few days. He has been fussy, gassy and pulling off of the nipple when he feeds. I read an article online that said it must mean that my milk supply is too much. Poor guy has been pooping every few hours and it is green. I guess the theory is that when you produce too much milk, the baby only gets the foremilk and not the hindmilk. They need the hindmilk for digestion and calories. The hindmilk is supposed to help them sleep longer too. I'm trying to get my supply to cut back a little. I did not pump today. I have been pumping once a day and freezing my milk. Are there any of you ladies out there that breast feed and have the same problems?

hi girls

hope yous are all well....
the pics you's have all posted on photobucket are amazing...the little ones sure change in a flash....
all is going well here....andrew is now rolling over but katie doesnt seem interested.... they love lying on the playmat and are always reaching out to one and other..... i love hearing them laugh...

they still sleep through the nite which everyone keeps saying im lucky.. from 8pm onwards the nite is my own but by the time ive sorted bottles, grab a shower im too tired and head to bed... i get up about 7.15am so i can sort their clothes and feeds then i sit and wait on them to awake which is around 8am-9am....

as for me...ive started the gym... i go on monday nite and darren watches the babies then both of us go to the gym wednesday nite aswell while his mum takes the little ones for an hour.... its good to have that small amount of time alone though i do hate leaving them...

Tammy - just a quick post re: green poo!!!!!
Charlie went through this stage and I presumed it was the hindmilk/foremilk problem. I therefore fretted about making sure he stayed long enough on the one side etc. etc. BUT he lost weight (typical it co-incided with his doctor check at 8 weeks!) and it turned out it wasn't this at all. He had a tummy bug!! It lasted about 3-4 days and was right as rain again afterwards. the weight went back on, the poo went back to usual colour again and we went back to normal!
Just thought I'd mention it as I felt quite guilty when this happened thinking I hadn't been breastfeeding properly and it turned out it wasn't this at all!

Cla: Thanks for your input. He also has been arching his back at the nipple and pulling off of it on occasion. He seems to be getting a little better. We shall see.

Kareen: It is good to hear from you. Andrew and Katie are so cute!! I saw their latest photo on photobucket. My Andrew has been pulling his legs up and rolling to his side, but not all of the way over. Good for you and the gym. DH finally organized my workout room in the basement and my treadmill is just waiting for me. I believe I will get on it today. I am ready to start the gym too in a couple of weeks. Once I start teaching face-to-face classes, I will be going to the gym while DH watches Andrew.

Hi Ladies

Kareen, good to hear from you. Andrew and Katie are beautiful...they look like they are doing really well. They are fabulous sleepers, I can only dream about that! Good on you for going to the gym too. Although we do lots of walking, I really need to stop eating junk or I am going to look like the side of a house! There just never seems to be time to make something healthy to eat, I eat on the run. Thank goodness DH takes care of dinner!

Tammy, have you sorted out the breastfeeding problem. I can only suggest feeding while lying down, might help. I had the same problem with my let down, to the point that DS would choke when it happened. Fortunately, in the last couple of weeks everything seems to have settled down (like all the books said it would ) and we are both much more comfortable. Are you looking forward to going back to work? It is great that Andrew doesn't need to go to childcare, such a relief for his doting parents! Good on you too for thinking about the gym...is the treadmill getting a workout? With regard to AF, I thought mine had returned at about 3 months post partum. I had a HUGE af but have had nothing since...not sure when to expect the next one! Hopefully it will not be like the last! I noticed you are thinking about more children...it is a dilemma isn't it. We have 3 frozen embryos and are starting to think about where we go from here. I don't particularly want to stop breastfeeding yet so I guess we have more time to think about it. I always thought that 1 would be plenty but, given that DH and I are older, I think it would be lovely for him to have a sibling. In saying that, if we decide to go ahead and aren't successful with any of our frozen embryos I will not be going through a full IVF cycle again.

Griffin is doing well. He has started rolling but it always seems such a huge surprise to him and he looks truly stunned once he has done it. He has discovered his feet which is making nappy changes a bit challenging (for me, he thinks it's a hoot) and somebody has turned on the drool tap in his head...babies are such wet little things! He had his 4 month (can you believe it) immunisations last week and handled them much better than the first lot although he was much worse the following day. I kept trying to give him paracetamol but he just threw it up each time...poor little man...but his temperature evenutally returned to normal and he is fine now. We also went for a 4 month check up and the little (I use the term loosely) guy now weighs 16.7 pounds!! He is in the 90th percentile for weight and the 50th for length and is meeting all his milestones. He is trying to crawl but hasn't quite worked it out yet, he balances on his tummy and his little legs go crazy but he hasn't figured out that his legs need to be on the ground to enable movement. He can quite easily scoot around on his back though!

DH is working away next week so Griffin and I are joining him and will spend a week in a place called Bowen (famous for its mangos). It is a bit of a dump and nothing much to do but the new Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman movie is being shot there at present so maybe the town will be buzzing! Anyhow, I am sure that we can have lots of long walks on the beach to kill the time.

Good morning Ladies:

Heather: It looks like my breastfeeding problem has resolved itself. I have stopped pumping unless I give Andrew a bottle. In that case, I pump to replace one feeding. Unfortunately, I have not been on the treadmill much. I have been taking more walks with Andrew though.
Regarding AF, I've been crampy the last 2 days. It seems to be ovulation cramping, but I have not started AF. I do not want to stop the breastfeeding either. I really enjoy breastfeeding Andrew and I know it is good for him. We would definitely not do another full IVF cycle either. We would either try to get pregnant naturally and/or try our 4 frozen eggs.
Andrew has rolled over from his back to his tummy twice. He is playing with his hands. Andrew just smiles and giggles at me a lot these days. He thinks his mama is funny! I'm not sure what he weighs now, but he was in the 95th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height at his 2 month appt.
He weighted 14.5 lbs and was 24 1/4" long. Have fun with Griffin and DH on your holiday.

Tammy a lot of women don't get periods while they are breast feeding, one of the perks apparently!

All the babies on photobucket are gorgeous. Vita thank you for sending me pictures of the triplets, they are adorable.

Ellie is doing great. Today she weighed in at a very respectable 14lb 4oz, she's just over the 2nd percentile line for her age and on the 75th one for her corrective age! Her oxygen went up last week, she's still suffering with her reflux and her teeth are coming through but other than that she's delightful. Always smiling and chuckling.

Jodie is getting excited as she's preparing to start school in September, this afternoon she has to go to meet the teacher.

I've started dieting, about time! So far have lost 12lbs so only another 5 stone to go!

Hi Ladies

Tammy, glad to hear that the breastfeeding problem has sorted itself out. Andrew is a cutie!! He is very photogenic. He is also a tall boy, pro basketballer in the making perhaps.

Griffin is also laughing a lot more...we used to really have to work to get those laughs but now he just laughs at anything (sometimes I don't even know what he is laughing at). He has also become ticklish in the past week or so and squeals when he has his back and belly tickled. I love it!! I have also discovered a tooth this week. I feel like such a bad mum, I had no idea other than the fact that he was drooling heaps and would not take his fingers out of his mouth. As this is pretty normal behaviour for kids this age I didn't think anything of it and then when he was sucking on my finger I felt something sharp and lo and behold there is a tooth!! Only one has come through but I thought they are supposed to come in pairs...hopefully the other one isn't too far away.

Jo, glad to hear that Ellie is doing so well. She has certainly made up for lost time!! Sorry to hear that her reflux and teeth are giving her a hard time. At what age does the reflux disappear? I hope your gorgeous little girl continues to thrive and keeps up all that giggling! How did Jodie enjoy the meeting with her teacher....wow, starting school, how exciting. Can't wait to see the piccies of her in her school uniform...your girls are sooo beautiful. Good on you with the dieting, all of these stories of weight loss and fitness are starting to motivate me...keep up the good work!

Our trip away with DH sucked! It rained all week and we didn't have a car (DH was working about 80km away from where we were staying so he needed the car) so we really couldn't do much. It was also unbelievably cold...we were in the tropics but it was getting down to 12C at night and our apartment didn't have any heating!! It never gets cold in Bowen so they didn't bother to hook the heating up. Needless to say, we had to go and buy a heater in order to stay warm and to ensure that poor little Griffin didn't freeze. We also bought tonnes of toys because the poor little man was trapped inside most of the week and I really didn't take enough things to keep him amused. We didn't get to meet Nicole or Hugh but we were treated to fireworks for Nicole's birthday...they were staying not far from where we were (in heated accommodation I'll bet!)

Now that we are home the cold weather is still lingering...we had a low of 6C last night...it really never gets that cold here...but at least we have heating!! Can't wait for summer to reappear.

Good morning Ladies:

Andrew had his 4 month doctor's appt. yesterday. He weighed in at
16 lb 14 oz (50-75%), 26 1/4" long (75%) and head circ = 43.5 (90%).
He also got his 4 month shots. He did better this time around. We made sure to give him Tylenol 30 minutes prior to getting the shots. I believe that helps.

Heather: Thanks for the compliments on Andrew. He is "my little man". I can't imagine my life without him. Andrew laughs a lot too. He is ticklish on his neck. When I wash his face in the morning, he just laughs at me. He is really developing a very nice personality. The doctor said that Andrew was teething too! He was chewing on his fist when she came into the room.

Jo: I'm so glad to hear that Ellie is doing great. I still have not started AF, but i'm not upset at all
