Need advice cramps after et

HELLO EVERYONE,
I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GET SOME ADVICE FROM YOU GUYS WHICH I DESPERATELY NEED.
MY STORY IS PRETTY MUCH LIKE ANYONE ELSE'S: LONG AND FULL OF UPS AND DOWNS. BUT I'LL TRY TO KEEP IT SHORT.
MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN TTC FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS. I'M 36 AND HE'S 38. TUBAL SCARRING SEEMS TO BE THE CAUSE OF MY INFERTILITY.

WE WENT TROUGH OUR FIRST IVF CYCLE IN 2005 WHICH WAS CANCELED DUE TO POOR RESPONSE TO STIMS.
THE SECOND TIME MY DR. USED A MUCH HIGHER DOSE OF STIMS BUT SADLY IT ENDED UP GETTING ONLY A FEW EGGS AND NO PREGNANCY.
THE DR SAID MY EGGS WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, EVEN SUGGESTED USING EGG DONOR, WHICH WE DID ONE YEAR LATER, MY DEAR SISTER DONATED HER EGGS FOR ME, THEY INSERTED 3 GOOD EMBRYOS, BUT UNEXPLICABLY IT FAILED.

THIS YEAR WE DECIDED TO TRY A NEW PLACE: UCSF, A VERY WELL KNOWN TEACHING HOSPITAL WITH GREAT BACKGROUND IN IVF. THERE WE FOUND A DR THAT WE REALLY LIKED, AND HE SAID HE DISAGREED WITH MY FORMER DR'S OPINION AND THAT I SHOULD TRY AGAIN WITH MY OWN EGGS. SO WE DID. NOW WE ARE IN OUR 2 WEEK WAITING PERIOD, VERY STRESSFUL.

LONG STORY SHORT, I HAD MY ET 2 DAYS AGO (JUNE-16). THEY RETRIEVED 7 EGGS, 6 WERE MATURE ENOUGH, ICSI WAS DONE AND 3 MADE IT TROUGH THE 3RD DAY WHICH THEY TRANSFERED.
MY BIG CONCERN IS THAT THE NIGHT OF MY ET, A COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER I WENT TO BED, I WOKE UP WITH STRONG CRAMPS ON MY LOWER ABDOMEN, WORSE THAN MENSTRUAL CRAMPS. THE PAIN WAS CONSTANT AND LASTED A COUPLE OF MINUTES. THEN IT WENT AWAY. I FIND THIS VERY ODD, AND I WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS SOMETHING ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED, BECAUSE AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER, THIS NEVER HAPPENED WITH MY OTHERS ET.

RIGHT NOW I DON'T FEEL ANY SYMPTOMS AT ALL, EVEN THE BLOATING SENSATION IS GONE. MY BOOBS ARE NOT SORE ANY MORE. I TRY TO KEEP UP MY HOPES BUT SOMETIMES I WORRY SO MUCH.

HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THIS?

I haven't experienced the pain you described, maybe you should call your clinic so they can reassure you or tell you if there is any reason for concern.

Regarding the lack of symptoms I think that is normal. I had alot of bloating with the stim drugs (I gained 6 pounds) most of this went away by about 5 days post retrieval as I guess the stim drugs are out of your system and you are getting back to normal. That was my case anyway and we ended up with a BFP.

Lulis, I think I recall having that one and only cramp in the middle of the night on my first IVF, and I had a BFP at that time, so go figure

. If it was that only cramp and you haven't had any more symptoms I am not so sure I would worry that much, but if it happens again then I would definitely call RE.

hey.. I didn't have cramps like that that soon after transfer.. I believe at about 5 days post 3 day transfer i started having cramps.. like a STRONG STRONG cramp then i wouldn't have any for a few hours.. then I'd have the same thing again.. I still have them every now and then.. I'm now 11 days post 3 day transfer.. had my 1st beta today.. 73!!!

I had my ET on Friday, June 15. About 4 hours after leaving the clinic I had horrible cramps. they lasted about 30 minutes. They were so bad that I was almost in tears. We finally called my doctor and he said it wa normal, just take tylenol for it. I was so worried my bodies rejected my little embies. I have not had any cramping since.
I do my blood test on June 27. That seems forever away.
Please let me know what your clinic said about your cramping. Good luck:)

Hi,
I did not have one big cramp but many little ones for two days post transfer. Now they are gone, boobs are still sore mostlt in the evening and not in the morning. They just fell little heavy in the morning but nipples get really sore as it gets evening. Hang in there...

Hey Lulis,

I had cramping and could hardly get out of bed for a week after the egg retrieval and egg transfer. I spiked a temp so I was put on antibiotics. I think everyones body reacts differently. I too thought my body was rejecting the 2 embies I had transferred since I had a fever. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I go for my first beta. For the last couple days I have had AF cramps but reading the threads I found that even those who had cramps before their beta - some still had BFP's. I am praying every moment. This is my first attempts with ICSI and I have been trying for 12 years.

Good morning ladies. When do you guys test? I am 6 days post transfer. last night was the first night that I had any cramping since the et. a little scary, but they weren't bad.
I hope we all end up with bfp:)

Hey ladies,

I am 7 days post ET, I have not had a lot of cramping. Just little one here and there. I think everyones body responds different. Don't worry. I am sure it's fine. I have read a lot about implanation s/s and they say cramping is one of them. Good luck.

Hey all,

I greatly appreciate these posts! I had the strong cramp that night as well. I am 9 days post transfer and go for my beta the day after tomorrow. Oddly enough, the bloating and breast pain went away a couple of days ago (after getting symptoms similar to my cycle...like headache and tense shoulders) but I have no spotting at all. I'm hoping the fact that I still haven't started is a good sign. These next two days are going to be the hardest! Thanks again...only those who are going or have goine through this really understand.

Hello ladies!
I really appreciate your sharing experiences with me. Today I'm on my 5th day porst ET. I called my clinic 3 days adgo to find out about the cramps and they didn't know what to tell me. They said the timming of my cramps was really odd, since it was so many hours after the ET, and too early to think about implantation cramps, so I decided to forget about it and was able to do it for a couple of days. It is good to know I'm not the only one who had one of these type of cramps, though.
Today I woke up very pessimistic, and have no one to talk about it. I don't want to upset my DH without a real evidence of failure, but I have a bad feeling. These 2 ww are killing me!
