Hi everyone,

Probably very few will remember me, with all the hacking going on and having to register in about 20 different ways!!(but I remember most of you from before). Well, I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. Had a bio-chemical mid May, and therefore the treatment failed. Went on holiday. AF late. did a test after 10 days late and guess what...... yep, Im pregnant! Can't quite believe it - did two tests, both of which were nice and bright, ran down to the chemist and wave the wands in his face (poor man) (it's ok though, I did dry them first!!!!!!!!) Went to my GP on Wednesday and told him, but he didn't retest me (is that normal), he just weighed me and did my blood pressure etc. Don't really feel any different which is a bit worrying. Apart from feeling v. tired, had v. sore boobs for the last 3 days but now one of them doesn't hurt so much. Also, since first day when AF was late, I have had a belly ache, not af pains as such just uncomfortable and the occasional twingy pain. Also horrendous windies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH hasn't come down to earth yet, won't let me do a thing, bless him - although I have warned him that the novelty will wear off.

Please God, everything will progress well, but if anyone could tell me if the pains etc or lopsided boob pains are ok, or did any of you feel really preggie straight away. Am resisting the temptation to buy a test for every day of the week!!!!!!!!!

Its lovely to hear how you're all progressing, hopefully I'll get as far as you all!!!

LOL

Rachel
x
Rachel

That's really fantastic news.....a massive congratulations to you and your hubby.

My GP didn't test me either, just filled in some forms and booked me in with the midwife...I think.

Just go with the flow and try not to over analyze, as everyone's symptoms are different.

Just enjoy the feeling!!!!

Take care,
Suzanne.x
Rachel

Congratulations - what fanastic news!!!!

Don't worry about any of the pains and aches that you have, everything seems to be normal in pregnancy. You worry if you get them, you worry if you don't! As Suzanne says, try not to over analyze and enjoy!

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy! How many weeks are you now??

Helen xx
Thanks girlies on the advice, and you're both right I know. At the end of the day, I can't do anything but just get on with it and try to enjoy the knowledge! (Although I did just nip to the chemist half an hour ago and do another test, just to check it was a dream!!! (and it wasn't!).

According to my GP I was 6 weeks yesterday, but from what I can gather from others on this site, they back date the dates to the first day of your last period. It must have happened almost straight after the treatment cycle. When I rang the ivf nurse she was really shocked and was amazed I'd ovulated so quickly, but she's arranged for me to have a scan at 8 weeks which technically, I wouldn't have got normally because its now not an IVF pregnancy.

Is it ok that I carry on reading/posting on here by the way, because of not being preggie through treatment?

Trying not to get too excited but its so difficult after such a long wait! Can't wait to be able to buy maternity knickers!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL

Rachel
x

Dear Rachel,Louise and Annie,

Well done to all of you. It's so exciting being able to come over to this side of the website!

Don't worry about not having all the symptoms - everyone is different. I had sore boobs, starting around 7 weeks, but they do get better and bigger! I've had no vomiting and very little morning sickness, thankfully. However, I'm still weeing a lot and I'm bunger up all the time!

I spent a few days worrying about the fact that I wasn't throwing up when everyone else on the website was. But now I just think I am very lucky.

Try and relax and look forward to your first scan. It all seems to go very fast - I'm now 11 weeks today.

Good luck,

Alison xx
Hi Rachel
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I totally understand that you can't quite belive it, DH and I got pregnant naturally after an failed IVF attempts last October. There was me and about 3 other girlies who all had the same thing happen hence the "Christmas Miracle" club.

We had unexplained infertility and had been trying for 4 years, had had 2 MC following natural conception, 1 aborted IVF and 1 failed IVF. Our consultant told us that women can very often fall pg naturally after failed IVF because the pressure is off and hormone levels are still sky high. Of course we didn't believe her............
Now at 32 weeks with a little boy bump and still can't quite belive it.
Relax and enjoy your "miracle"
LOL
Terri
xx
Hi Rachel - Congratulations!!!

I had a bit of a miracle too - after trying for years (endo) we managed to get pg just as i was waiting to start IUI. It's a bit of a shock, eh!!!

Like everyone says the twinges are all very normal - i had very AFish pains and then as soon as they disappeared, i was convinced i wasn't pg anymore!!!

Look aftre yourself and have a fab pregnancy,

Big hugs, Lizzy xxxx
