Congratulations SJ and Kia! How exciting does it feel to reach the 12 wk mark?!! I also had my 12 week scan yesterday and I am amazed at how relieved and happy I've been since! The little bean was very well behaved and lay still to have its nuchal fold measured and then leapt around a bit and looked like it was sucking its thumb - so cute! The nuchal fold showed no problems at all so we have now started telling people as we see them, it really feels like a whole new chapter and it hit me on the way home 'I'm going to have a baby'!!! Yikes! You'd have thought with all the IVF and waiting that I'd be prepared for this but apparently not! I hadn't realised I'd been holding back but I must have been.
Anyway, I'll stop wittering now, very happy to now be officially up the duff!
Oh, and we had our due date moved by a day - its now Christmas day!!

Congrats ladies on the good scan results!!!! Another hurdle is over. I got my lab tests yesterday and my Down's risk is 1 in 2500.....normal for my age is 1 in 125 so we were elated. So no amnio for me.....yeah!! The 20 week scan seems so far away to see my little one again. It seems like we are always waiting.
I bought some more fat clothes today. It's depressing and exciting at the same time. Well have a great weekend all and keep the good news coming!

How are all of the December mommies doing? I had my 16 week checkup Monday and everything is great. I've only gained 4 pounds so far but the doctor assured me that was fine. Baby's heartrate was normal, nice and strong.

Anyone start to feel the baby move at all? For the past week I've been getting little "flutters" in my tummy. Especially after I eat. So I think that's probably my little one saying hi! My doctor said by 20 weeks I will probably feel things more consistantly. I can't wait!

Hope everybody is doing/feeling great!

I have been in maternity jeans since 9 weeks!!! All this chat about clothes only just getting tight is quite disconcerting!! My morning sickness (which is actually afternoon and evening sickness) can only be relieved by eating which I think goes a long way to explaining the fast expanding waist! I am fine in the morning and able to eat cereal and fruit, by lunch time I'm getting slightly queasy and needing carbs, by the evening I am a disaster area and can only stomach pasta and salt and vinegar crisps!! I really have tried, I made salmon and risotto the other evening, the fish made me retch, so the rice it was! For all my moaning I actually couldn't care less, I would clearly love to have a slim stomach still but I figure I'll worry about it after the baby's born!

IVF Mom I agree with you, 20 weeks seems far too long to wait to see the baby again. I have a few appointments with my GP so at least I'll hear the heart beat, but 20 wks seems just forever.

Steph, so excited that you can feel the baby already. That's only 3 wks away! Although quite a few of my friends have said they couldn't feel their first ones til after 20 wks. I really hope I feel it early.

I went to a pre-natal pilates class yesterday, everyone else was at least 20 wks with proper bumps, I felt like a fake (a fat fake!). When the teacher started talking about pelvic floor muscle exercise being good for the labour I kept thinking about these poor girls having to go through labour - either it still hasn't sunk in yet that I am also pregnant or I am clearly in denial!!

Glad to hear you're all doing well. One quick question, has anyone else had a spike of morning sickness around 13 weeks, mine had been tailing off but the last couple of days have been shocking again, worse than at 9 wks. I wondered whether it could be anything to do with the growth spurt which is supposed to happen around now??

LOL

ps I guess the one day we can be sure the baby won't actually be born is probably xmas day, apparently only 1% of babies are born on their due dates?! Still, it makes for a nice story whenever people ask what the due date is!

Also I gave in and took two pain killers for the headache.

Hi everyone,
I know I haven't been around here in awhile. I am over at ivillage because it's quite busy around there but, I wanted to pop in & let you all know that I had my 15 week us & we are having twin boys. No surprise there, I was sure from the start that they were boys. It's definitely real now. I just went online to the gap & spent a fortune. They have alot of matching outfits in different colors. Now the fun begins. I am so glad to see that all of you are doing so well. Dec. will be here before we know it.

Pixiesmom that's sooo exciting!! Congratulations! What made you so sure they were boys? We're not going to find out but I have to say I am very curious!! Instead I'll spend the next 6 months playing the guessing game - no logic at all I know but we thought we'd like the surprise.

Have fun in Gap!!

Hi ladies, I'm glad to hear that a few of you are expanding like me! I have already gained 11 lbs and can only fit in maternity clothes. I know this will be my last pregnancy so I don't mind wearing out the maternity clothes. Lots of little boys are going to be born in Dec!!!! I'm glad the scans the are coming back good.
Reward74 are you out there??? We haven't heard from you in awhile and I hope all is well.
Well I'm starving again......off to stuff my face!
