Rae – love the pic honey, you can defiantly see that baby bump. Your nearly half way there now!!

Sonya – how you feeling now, do hope things have eased up for you.

Quita – glad the holiday is sorted, bet you can’t wait for your scan.

Barbs – hope your trip away went well, as for not feeling pregnant, I’m the same honey, NO symptoms what so ever (apart from tired) I had to see Occopational Health this week and whilst doing a risk assessment, I was ask all the usual question’s ie morning sickness, nausea, ect ect, which of course I answered all no to, the nurse then asked me if I’m sure I’m pregnant!!!! That really boosted my confidence. NOT

But honey please don’t worry about not feeling pregnant, every body is different and maybe we are the lucky ones that will sail through our pregnancies with nothing at all to complain about!!!

Marcia – where are you honey??

Nimble – Once again CONGRATULATIONS honey, so pleased for you xx

As for me I managed to talk my friend into giving me a quick look at my little bean again yesterday and all is well, (I suppose my job has some perks) I also seen my midwife today for the first time, she was lovely and has even said that if all goes well through out the pregnancy I can have the home birth I so much want. Fingers crossed now. Also as I’m over 32 I can have a Nuchal scan for free, so that has come as I nice surprise to both DH and I as we were expecting to pay for it.

Well ladies do hope you are all keeping well, thinking of you all.
xxsha

Hi Girls

Well I am back after being away at a conference. Conference was busy and as it lasted four days, they were feeding us. I survived on bread and fruit as everything else was a the type of food that s a no no - ie - chicken, shell fish and rare meat. Love being home so I can actually eat something!
Well, the most exciting thing. Had our first scan today and saw our little one with a teeny tiny little heart beating at 96 beats per minute!!! It was so little but is definitely there. As I have not felt pregnant yet, I am glad to see the scan today and realise that it is not all in my head after all!!! :D
Felt sick this morning but think it was nerves over the scan.
They gave me a date which is about a week and a half different from what I worked out. I thought we were about 7 weeks and 5 days but they say 6 weeks and 1 day.
Anyways, hello to all you girls - hope all is going well!

Hi sweetie

Glad you're well. My due date is still Dec 18th. How've you been baby wise, had any scans done or seen a heartbeat yet?

I'm so happy for you that you're doing ok :D . I'll be in my 2nd Trimester tomorrow and loving that our baby's doing great and my tummy growing bigger. I've had nausea for 2 months, but not been sick at all and it's been wearing off a little the past 2 weeks. Hasn't been all day every day like it was in the first 8 weeks.

Our 3rd scan last week was amazing, as we saw the baby wriggling about and waving it's arms. The heartbeat is nice and strong and my next scan is in 2 weeks again when I'm 14weeks. The baby's going through a growth spurt at the moment and I'm really fatigued again, but according to my pg notes from books from my Bounty pack, it happens from now and the next few weeks as alot of the major organs and nervous system are taking off and my volume of blood doubling now. It's all very exciting learning what's happening week to week :D :D .

If anyone else is still lurking around, I hope you're doing well :) .

Take care everyone, chat soon.

Hi Marcia and Sha and any other lurkers.

Yes, we had a scan two weeks ago and saw the little flicker of a heartbeat. We were measuered then at 6 weeks - funny, I thought I was further along. Due date is 20 January! We have a little photo of a small white blob in a black hole. Yep - that is our little baby! Oh - I just about cried.
Sha, I too have to pinch myself to make believe I am pregnant - I forget all the time. It is hard for me to hide this (we are not telling anyone until 12 weeks - apart from family and close friends) as I work in an industry where I market our company. At this time of year we do a lot of promotional stuff and this means lots of socialising too - many of my close colleagues have noticed I am not drinking and am turning my nose up at certain foods. A couple of the other girls have been giving me funny looks.....

Here is a funny old thing - has anyone noticed their tummies? Mine is still normal but sometimes at night it gets bigger than what it was in the morning and goes a bit hard - then it goes back to normal in the morning. I am eating the same amount of food so it can't be me pigging out.
Weird - I know!
Talk later!

Hi Sha and Barbs

Sha, don't worry about not feeling anything. My mom didn't have anything with my sis either and she's 27 and has her own little family, and she turned our perfectly normal.

With me, my mom just had nausea and tired which is exactly what I have, so don't worry. Sometimes symtoms come on later as well, I just read a post on another site where this woman is 12wks and only just now having symtoms.

As for your tummy Barbs, this is perfectly normal and what should be happening. I don't exactly know the reason why, but coming from a big family of 5 aunties and seeing every one of them have there litte huddle of kids. My nan has 9 kids, my mom included and as I'm the eldest of 18 grandkids, I've seen many preggie bellies in mt time. Plus seeing my friends, and now my sis go through 3 pgy's and my sil having 2 kids, I can assure you it's nothing to worry about. It's just another reminder that while you may be winding down at night, major things are happening in there in baby land :D . It's crazy really how many pgy's I've seen as a child till now. Some of my school friends started having their kids as young as 16,17 or 18. And my cousin who's 2 months younger than I, is pg with her forth, so it's fair to say I have many women I can turn to for advice.

What about your family circles and friends, have you guys looked after kids like baby sitting, family members when you were growing up?

PS.

You're baby's age is always measured from the first day of your last period, so you're always 2 weeks ahead. Or they go by your Ov date, or in the case of IVF your fertilisation date. So don't worry about your dates, you are just over 8 weeks then your baby will be around 6wks.

And I'm glad you like the pic. Will put up next weeks when we have the next scan :D .

Hi Barbs,
I'm just peeking in from Dec Babies, don't worry about not feeling pregnant, I have days of feeling slightly queasy and days when I'm convinced I've imagined the whole thing!
My tummy is definitely more bloated at night than in the morning, are you on prog pessaries? I have gone down to one every other night since 10 wks and I have noticed a real change in how bloated I am so I think they may have had some impact afterall (I knew it!!!) However I think the fact that the only way I can get through the queasiness is to eat (and not fruit!) may also have something to do with it!
If you're worried about your dates or the development of the baby I would go and ask for another scan, you'll probably have to pay for it but the peace of mind will be worth it. My clinic were very good about scheduling another one in when I was worried about the loss of babyb. As you say it is unusual to be off your dates if these scans are still with your fertility clinic - once you go to the normal hosp then they do date a bit differently as Marcia says, but the fertility clinic should be spot on from your date of fertilisation.

I'm sure all is fine with your little polo mint (as mine was called by the nurse at the 7 week scan!) When do you think we will actually start relaxing and enjoying these pregnancies? I tell you, I am a constant bag of nerves!

LOL

Hi barbs, marcia and anyone else.

barbs, thats is exactly how my belly is, flat in the morning and then a bump by the evening, so wierd eh.

marcia - in answer to your question about time with other peoples children, i was there for the births of both my nephew's it really was something i can tell you, and as for watching them grow i used to have them nearly every day as babies and as the grew they came to stay for the summer hols, they are 20 and 18 now and they still come and stay with me, they still give me lots of cuddles and love.

kids are just wonderful!!! i cant wait for my little bean to be born and the whole family feel the same, i just know this littl one is going to be spoilt so bad....

as for me i finaly got my nuchal scan last night, and we are so pleased that the results came back fine. looking forward to me next one now on the 4th july. cant wait.

love sha

Hi Barbs, Marcia and Sha, I thought I'd peak back onto this thread most people seem to have moved onto the December babies thread on the 'Pregnant After Treatment' section.

How are you all coping, I've found I've had another surge of morning (actually afternoon/evening) sickness around 13 wks, but apart from that and my ever expanding waistline, I'm doing ok. Happy to be off the progesterone and very happy to have got over the 12 wk scan hurdle. So exciting to see the little bean, it was sucking its thumb. Amazing to think there's actually a baby in there. Albeit a strangely small one!

Barbs, your 12 wk scan must be around nowish? actually I've just read back, maybe its not for another couple of weeks.

Hope you're beginning to enjoy this a little more, I am definitely less worried than I was at the beginning, I could hardly sleep then I was so terrified something would go wrong. Now I am starting to believe it might actually happen!
