Christine - I am so sorry and hope you find solace in knowing he is not suffering anymore and that he knew that you were having another baby.
Steph - I have heard of a cerclage. Have you researched it? I would absolutley go with what the doctor recommends in this situation. Is your cervix a little open now? Will you have a c-section.
Noodle - Doppler was only $33/month for a 3 month contract. More if you did it for just one month at a time.
I am not ready to think about breastfeeding, birthing (did anyone who hasn't had a baby yet see Knocked Up? - soooo good, but a bit daunting at the end)etc... I've just been wanting to make it to 12 weeks. Tomorrow is 12 weeks, but technically, aren't we not through 12 weeks, until the 13th week. Ahhhh....do I have to wait yet another to be officially through my first trimester? I still get so nervous with NO SYMPTOMS since day 1.
Emma - welcome and congrats - symptoms, for most, seem to come and go.. This group is so amazing. I've looked at other boards and there are some good ones out there, but I really appreciate the IVF or infertility perspective that we all share.
Hey Gang
Welcome Emma-we are in the same boat! About 9 weeks with twins and still in shock. I am still sitting here and can't believe it! I mean that I am thrilled but scared as well!!! It is an exciting time....Glad you are here.
Christine
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. That must be sooo hard for you. Hang in there....I hope that your scan goes well. Looking forward to hearing about it.
Steph
I am not a good person to ask about this procedure however the peri told me that at 15 weeks and every other week thereafter I will be having an u/s to look at the cervix to make sure it is long and closed. If it isnt I will need to have a cerclage as well. I am new to that whole thing not knowing anyone who has had one...

Hi ladies:
Christine- I am very sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad a few years ago and ever since that day all I could think about was having a baby boy to name after his grandpa.
Emma- welcome to the gang!
Noodle- I am too nervous to get ahead of myself. When I start to think of those ?'s I just have to stop and breathe
As for me, I had my labs today and I am not ready to come off the Prog injections just yet. I was kinda relieved, thinking it was too early anyways. Dont they usually take you off at 12 weeks? Everything else looks good. All hearts are beating away. RE is very concerned about babies being born sick, premature, etc. He wants us to seriously consider a reduction. Very hard decision but it doesnt look like the stats are in our favor. Has anyone heard about the Minnesota couple that had 6 and 3 died already. I don't want to be her! They refused to consider a reductions and the babies were born at like 5 months. INSANE. So we are going to talk to a perinatologist. As I said before, I don't want to be on the news! [no judgements please]

I havent heard about that couple but that is horrible. Just horrible. I had a long tallk with my RE about how many to put in and if I would consider that-reduction. It is something that I could not handle so we decided to only put in two to be on the safe side for our situation. He told me that if we would consider it he would put in three or four but considering I am only going through this because of my DH's Vasectomy not really any infertility probs per se he said to err on the side of caution. You have to do what is best for you and your family. You don't want to lose all of your babies. It will be a good idea to talk to the peri to see what they recommend. I would be so devastated to lose my babies like that-like that couple did..... Let us know what they say.

I honestly think I would have been fine had all 3 embies taken. Triplets have a much higher birthrate and after a few weeks in the ICU, they are fine. It's the quad thing that has totally thrown me for a loop! Who would have ever thought, especially after 3 failed attempts!

rikirees nobody in their right mind will judge you. If with reduction your babies have better chance to be healthy , I would say go for it. I would certainly do a reduction if that what doctor is advising. Plus I think you mentioned before you r not really a big girl, being 120lb right? I believe 4 babies for such a frame defenitilly too much.
rikirees - we are the last people to judge. i know how hard of a decision this would be and how will they choose which, etc... but honestly this isn't about you not being able to handle four kids, it's you wanting to ensure health for your children.
last night i was telling a couple friends that i had the nuchal today and i said i haven't stressed about it yet, but it would be a tough decision if we end up hearing not great results and the friend said - well obviously you would keep the baby and i just thought that was such a presumption. she grew up with a brother with lots of health issues and i guess that's where she's coming from, but it kind of placed her opinion on me unnecessarily. now that's judging.
wannabeone-how'd the nuchal scan go? It's probably the only test that we are going to have. People unfortunately say a lot of things they shouldn't......I think after us all going through this we know this best!
rikirees-the doctors will tell you what's best for the babies, there are a couple of posts that I have read on this site about reductions..how scary and what a hard time you will have ahead...hang in there, we'll be here.
I have my first regular OBGYN today, hopefully I can remember all my questions.

Christine, I'm so sadden by your lost. I know what you're going through. Take care of yourself and know that your guardian angel is watching over you.
As for me, nothing new to report on. I have my first trimester scan next Thursday. Looking forward to that. I finally get to stop the progesterone shots and estrace tabs. My bum bum is rejoicing. I've been feeling really good lately. I even got my stairmaster for 30 mins one day. I finally made a visit to Motherhood because I am really showing now. Anyone else?
I think the nuchal went well. It was really an amazing perspective - 3D and super high magnification 2D. As far as the fold measurement went, it looked great, but I guess the blood markers are more of a determinant. We'll get that those results in about a week.
MY nurse just called, I am officially off the progesterone. Man, I am so scared. Well, it is 12 weeks and 1 day and progesterone level is 116, but still i felt more secure with the progesterone .
Rikirees
You have to do what you have to do. Besides that none of us are in your shoes so only you are qualified to make the decision! We will be here to support you in any way you need.

I know what you mean about coming off of that prog. It sucks but at the same time it is security. I totally understand that. How many estrace tabs were you taking per day? Just wondering. How much prog were you taking?
Wannabe
Glad that your test went well. it sounds like things are going well for you and the baby. How great is that? I am looking forward to seeing my babies again soon!
mattie
That is awesome that you were able to get on your stairmaster! I don't think that I am ready for that just yet!!! Good Job. Glad that your scan looked good.
Not a whole lot going on here. I have a little mini celebration today because it is the 9 week mark. I feel good that I have made it through another week and everything is still good. I have a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen. I am also starting to show so I went to Motherhood as well for a bathing suit-YIKES! and some comfy shorts. They have some cute things. I was thinking that I would have to wear a sailor shirt! LOL

Tanya, I was on progesterone sypositories 2ce a day ( 200mg each). I felt pretty secured w grogesterone helping me you know, but we will see what blood test will show in a week.
whats estrace tabs by the way?
i hear you about lit celebrations, every week passing is a blessing. I started to show around 9th week as well. My best friend went and bought me some loose clothes the other day, she couldn't see me in my tight t shirts anymore lol. Still kind of excepting the idea that my body is changing. Did u gain any weight yet?
