Dear all,
It is past midnight and for some reason it is much faster now to post a message. Good, because I am tired but excited and can´t fall asleep without talking to you. The donor got 21 eggs...she is also in the race and we both will get our embies tomorrow morning. We won´t meet because they schedule us in different times but I want my baby to know that his/her mother didnt give up and did all under her power to overcome a difficult challenge. I do admire her very much. As for me, my 48 years old uterus is doing pretty good and my changes are fair. DH is crying every time we get some time alone (rarely when you think Brazilian family time runs from 800 am to midnight!) because all the eggs were fertilized. Seven were considered ok and two are sort of...so we are getting two embies tranferred and have some frozen. We never know and hope must be smart, too!
Clinical note: my doc asked both of us to avoid all perfumes and chemicals for three days. Anyone had the same experience?
\i will walk into the clinic with your thoughts and prayers in my heart.
Bit of personals and sorry if I missed some of you dear friends!
Thank you all for the words of encouragement. PMapsy, you are wonderful
in your way of connecting with us and making us connect with each other. I didnt understand...are you in a hospital or just changing the job place?
Jul1e, good luck in your plans. I did take my failed experience two years ago as a call to revive relationship with my partner. Hope you find a meanigful call as a depository of your love and energy.
Hi Jen779, I just wanted you to heal soon and find a way of expressing your maternal feelings...
hey two-weekers, hang in there! I know it is not the best time in the world but you know something, I am SO looking for this madness!
Hi Arizonakiwi, good luck with your carreer enhancement idea!
TransRN...twins? double trouble for you - but twice the fun!
Gbnut, hope to hear from you during your next cycle!
Love you all and all I didnt name.

Literatriz really good news about the eggs. Hope all goes well with fertilisation for you.

Everyone is asking how i am i am i am taking one day at a time but life is not going my way at the moment. Dont know if i can take much more at the moment with my dad and then ivf well now my dog is causing me lots of worry. she went loopy last night and bit me in the hand and would not let go. Phoned the vet this am and they say i have two options i can see a behaviourist or have her put down. This is not the first time she has done this and she has always been a problem i am her third home. we have a meeting with the vet tomorrow to make sure she is not ill. she has been odd for a few days carrying her little puppy toys around and crying. She has a false pregnancy before and had a hysterectomy as she bit me then. Vet thinks she could be picking up all my hormones and could be the cause of it. Anyway nothing in my life seems to be going right but i will let you know tomorrow what happens at the vets.

Susan,

I’m so sorry to hear about what happened with your dog. They become part of your family and it’s so difficult to make a decision like that. I’m not in the same situation as you but I do have an older dog that is starting to lose his hearing and his eye sight. His annual checkup was in April and the vet said that we will have to let him know when it’s time to put him down. I look at it from the perspective of my dog. Is he still happy and getting some enjoyment out of life? The answer is yes so we have not had to make that hard decision. If your dog is sick and they can’t make him better, you may want to put him out of his misery. Again, I’m so sorry that you have to deal with this. *hugs*

Hi all,
It is real! We had 7 good quality eggs, 5 frozen, 2 right here as I type this message.According to the embriologist, they are "so cute, so round and harmonious in their pace of division, so well-defined...yada yada yada". the whole team was very professional but the Brazilian style gave us hugs and good luck votes from everybody from the cleaning lady to the financial secretary. We are very grateful, got the picture of the two tiny seeds and went home to work on my expired passport. Yes...it has been a pain to think that I may not go back with DH because of that.
Now it is official, the terrible two (weeks) are here!
I am writing a message to the "seed mother" that my doctor is going to deliver to the woman who has donated the eggs. Please keep her in you thoughts and prayers.
my2LnT, good luck tomorrow on the ultrasound!
Mommytobe, hang in there, believe in the strenght of your body...
gbnut, sorry about your dog. I have had many dogs in the last 20 years and I did foster some, too. dogs change temperament during false pregnancies...but not all of them bite their owners. Behavioral traits or post-traumatic responses are almost impossible to be elimiated. sometimes we need to be realistic and accept the fact taht some pets have not the condition to live in a urban household. You may try donating this dog again (someone passed her on, right?) maybe to a more rural setting in which the emotional components and the risk of biting is much smaller or you may take the more difficutl route and put her to sleep. Rembember, between you dad and your quest for motherhoood...you have more than many women have to cope with...good luck and hugs
Ltaylr, hrobinson, to test of not to test? I hope to have this dilemma down the road...good luck on all of them!
Jul1e, hoping you heal you body and beat the odds in your next attempt1
I do have to go...
Love, literatriz

Literatriz-Congratulations! I’m glad that you have joined Heather and me on our 2WW. It’s funny but I haven’t been as stressed on this 2WW as compared to the other two times I went through it. I guess I figure that it’s out of my control as this point. When will you have your beta test?

I’ve has some mild cramping and that’s about it. Last time I started bleeding before my beta test but it still came back positive. I’m hoping this time I won’t have to deal with that again because it really freaked me out.

Marsxp-Thanks for the laugh. I needed it!

Heather-How are you doing on the 2WW?

How is everyone else? This thread has been very quiet lately.

Good morning ladies!

How are you guys doing? Not much to report on my side. Still waiting to move to the other hospital; my office is still not ready. In the meantime, I have it easy; I see a patient here and there, and I mostly do work for my research project. I will soon start working on the paper I'll submit to the ethics committee. Still haven't made my follow-up apt to the fertility clinic; I'll call today so we don't have it too late in the summer.

ltaylor: I'm absolutely delighted to learn that you're not too stressed during your 2ww! Good for you sweetie! :D I think your attitude is the best! Still sending lots of baby dust your way!

Literatriz: glad to hear that you're now home with your beanies! :) Stick to your mommy little embies! It's fantastic that you had enough eggs to freeze, congratulations! I'll be glad to add you to the 2ww on the list I'll post after this. Sorry to hear that your DH is so emotional; I bet this is a very stressful time for him. About the perfumes and chemicals; first time I hear this. Your docs have some very weird recommendations... what did your doc say about the 12 weeks abstinence after all?

marsxp: OH MY GOD I LAUGHED SO HARD! Thanks for posting this, it's so funny! LOL! I printed it and it's on my office door right now! You can be sure I'll pass it around and read it whenever I feel down around here! CONGRATULATIONS on being accepted in a new program! Sounds exciting! Good luck my dear!

gbnut: hello sweetie. You're really, really going through a rough patch... *HUGS* I can totally relate to what you're going through this time. I have a dog and a cat and both love them very much. Making the decision to put them to sleep when they are old and sick and don't have much quality of life is hard, but still easier than putting your dog to sleep because of behavioral problems. Somehow, it seems more unfair, like the problem is fixable and you should give them another chance because physically they're okay and still have a whole life ahead of them. I'm really sorry that your dog bit you, and yet I'm sure you did everything you could to make her behavior better. Your vet was very astute; the hormones definitely affect them in weird ways. It's really a hard decision and I wouldn't like to be in your shoes, poor Susan. When you have news from the vet, please tell us. In the meantime, I'm thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts. *smooch*

My2LnT: Sorry you're having cramping darling... and I guess that, since you won't admit it, I should not say that I agree with your doctor! But on the other hand, I know that a BFP brings you a whole new type of stress and it's something real. Are you seeing an acupuncturist? Honestly, it has a significant impact... maybe that could help? You could still tell yourself that you're not making an apt for stress, but just for pregnancy side effects... works for that, too! :D *hugs*

hrobinson: sorry about the cramping, but as the other girls say, it's perfectly normal. It's the progesterone, most probably. And yes, AF can happen before progesterone is stopped, Tanya is right. I had AF in full force before I stopped the pessaries the two times I cycled. And I'm wondering if it's because the dosage or delivery mode is not right. My friend who is a resident told me it's weird indeed that I should bleed so much while taking progesterone three times a day. But spotting or mild bleeding might still occur though.

Jul1e: yeah, that too. Seeing others walk about their BFP is hard at times when you get a BFN. And there's also the fact that, even if it's nice to give and receive support, you're also constantly exposed to other people's anxiety about all kinds of things. I'm particularly sensitive to that during my 2ww and after. How are you doing sweetie? And my darling, we're in the same situation. We cycled twice, had BFNs twice. But as I said a few days ago, it's crazy but it seems that a majority of people either get pregnant on their lucky first or their third attempt. The cashier at the fertility drugstore where I buy my meds told me the same thing many months ago when I bought all my meds for my last cycle. "It's really weird... sometimes, nothing happens for the first two cycles and then boom! They become pregnant on the third!" And you tend to see that here too... when you look at signatures, people often become pregnant on their third trial or the first! Weird! Let's keep everything crossed so next time is our lucky time! I'll be delighted to "cycle" a pregnancy with you on this forum my darling! I'll sure look around for you after my FET in August-September.

mommytobe: that beta looks ASTONISHING! LOL are you sure there's only two? I've NEVER seen a beta like that here! You should check on the Jan Babies thread; Tanya and My2LnT are on it and someone has quadruplets... another has triplets I think. You should ask what were their betas at your stage! :D This is SO exciting! Gosh, I'm really looking forward to hear about your ultrasound next week! :D

Shantala: are you still around? How are you doing my sweet?

Ooookay.. sorry if I forget anyone.... but hugs and smiles to you all!

Hi all,
Thanks for the enthusiastic support! PMApsy, I'm thrilled with my name on the 2ww grous. The dates are a bit different - I have to wait a bit more. They were transferred on 6/21 (Summer in the US, Winter here) and the test will happen on 7/3.
DH went back to the US. Due to some burocratic problems (this is the difficult part of living in Brazil, I had forgotten about it) I could not go back with him. My parents are happy, though!
PMApsy, the no-perfume or chemicals was part of keeping the transfer room very clean. The room was warm - same with you? And I did not understand the doctors recommendation: he said no intercurse for 12 days (not weeks) but said it would be good to be intimate in other ways as the body does associate sexual activity with reproduction. But now DH is 12000 miles away and I never did anything over the phone :)
Are you starting over in September?

Marxsp, thanks for the laughts!

Good luck to all thirs timers! And first and second timers too...
I am entering the "check your underwear" paranoia mode. Every time I go to the bath, I look at my panties. Fertilization didn~t happen two years ago because I bled so I am a bit scared. But all is fine so far and I am reading a lot about embrionic development. How many miracles have to line up in order to produce a human being!

Be well,

ltaylor- Please do not give up hope. You know how evil those HPT's are. You have four days until your official test date, so let's just keep our finders crossed, and wait until the fat lady starts singing. I will pray that your results come back as a BFP.

I too am doing a HPT tomorrow and am really scared that it will be negative. I have just had this empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. Plus I am having endo pains, which only come when AF comes. I keep checking to see if she is lurking behind the corner.

Literatriz- You are a woman who has encredible strength. You have been through so much. I am really feeling that this is your time. How wonderful for you to write a letter to the egg donor. You are so brave to be that far from dh. Mine is so much my rock, that I can hardly make it a week without him, let alone going through all that we have all been through.

TansRN- Congratulations o making it over that huge hump. Nine weeks is a biggie. I hope you continue to feel great.

Well, I too gave in and did a HPT this morning....9dp3dt...BFN. I was completely shocked. I was trying to hard to be hopeful. I wasn't even going to tell DH that I did it, but I have just been crying like crazy all morning. I am also very crampy, AF pains with endo pains as well, so I know she is coming for real.
Will go ahead and go for bw on Wednesday, but not holding out hope.
Not sure if we will do this again. Will have a lot to do before hand if I do...need to have surgery to remove endo (can't do lap. as it is on my diaphram), plus have to have surgery to remove polyps. Not sure if it is worth it:(
Thanks for all your prayers.
