I am on my first IVF cycle. My doctor is saying that if some of the embryos make it to the blastocyst stage (5 days), we might transfer just 1 blastocyst.
If you had blastocysts (5-day embryos), how many blastocysts did you transfer? Did you get a BFP? Did you get a multiple pregnancy?
Hey.. This doesn't pertain to me.. but another lady on another site I joined just had 2 blastocysts transferred about a month ago.. and she got her BFP.. had her first U/S the other day and is having twins!! Good Luck!
i have a friend. she had day5 embryos transfer and her first first IVF. The doctor tranfered he 2 embryos and she even wanted 3. but the doc said no. she is now 16dpt and she is Pregnant but she doesn't know if she is having twins or one baby. having twins is not so bad and its not such a high rist like triplets. her doctor said the twins is ok . Best of luck to you. i hope this helps you.
I transferred 2 on day 5. They were morula which isn't as good as blastocyst as it means they were a little slow developing. Anyway I got a BFP but I won't know for almost 2 weeks if it is 1 or 2 as they are doing my first ultrasound at week 8.
We transferred two excellent quality blasts in March. They were even starting to hatch prior to transfer. als, BFN. We are now trying a natural cycle FET and will put back 4 of the 6 frosties we have left.

Best of luck with that. You may very well succeed. FET is very different from a fresh non-donor cycle, and can often succeed for the very same reason that the fresh cycle failed...... Yup.
I transfered 2 blasts on my 1st try. I got a BFP but m/c'd. I transfered 3 blasts on my 2nd try. I got a BFP and had identical twins, which means only one embie stuck but it divided so I had twins. If all 3 had implanted, I would have ended up with quads!!!! The only reason the doctor allowed me to transfer 3 blasts is because I was 38. He won't do more than 2 for anyone 37 or younger.
Kabillion--- I just had a question. Are your twins identical or fraternal? I'm just curious about the likelihood of my blasts splitting. We are putting 4 back.
