Hi ladies,
I have had four failed IVF attempts (3 "live" cycles and 2 FET's) and I am currently on my 2ww for # 5. Has anyone had any expericence with so many failed attempts, but still achieved BFP????? I did have PGD testing done with this transfer, so they were able to eliminate any abn embryos and only transfered the two best embryos. I just turned 33, and all chomosome testing has come back normal. Just wondered if anyone could enlighten me with some success stories of anyone with similar situation??? Thanks!!! And best of luck to all!!!
I can't pass along any success stories because I am in the same position as you. I have just had a 5-day transfer today and am now on my 2ww on my 5th attempt - 4 fresh cycles (plus 2 cancelled cycles). It has been a long road and I am hoping to hear some success stories. They can't seem to figure out why it hasn't work so far. this time they took the embryos to blast so hopefully the ones they transferred are the ones that will stick!
Hi Kelly-
Best of luck to you with your cycle. I had day 5 transfer on June21st. ALL of my transfers for each cycle were blasts..........no answers on my end either. That is why dh and I had chromosme testing (both normal) and the preimplementation genetic diagnosis done on these embyies. We had twelve retrieved this time, 9 of which made it to blast stage, but 5 passed the pgd testing, so we transferred the best two. RE says that although all cycles produced excellent embyies, this cycle is statistically the best, so all I can do is hope. I think this is going to be the end of the IVF journey for us, I cant afford the meds any longer and cant afford the emotional and phyiscal toll this is taking on my body. I have done 5 cycles in 17 mos, and it is sooooooooooo agonizing when all you do is pray and pray and pray and you come back with a BFN!!!! Honestly, I dont think I have many more heartbreak tears to cry, I only have happy tears left!!!!! Best of luck to you, I will pray for BFP for you!!!!! Please keep me posted
We all are sailing in the same boat . Can i share my story with u ?. I had 3 failed IVF attempts . I am 33 . My RE has not got any PGD test done yet . But i was told to have an endometrial biopsy done which shows that i made the lining 4 days late and a protein called B3 integrin was not present . Have you girls went through this test . I always had nice 8 cell embroys transfered , do i still have to do PGD at some point .
can you please reply if you know anything about it .
Ashley,
When you went through your IVF cycles, did they look at your lining during the ultrasound? They have always said that my lining looks great so it hasn't been something I have pushed. I did have a HSG test done a couple of months ago and they said everything was normal but I've never had a biopsy done.
My RE also said that she wouldn't go ahead with PGD because the plans was to transfer all the embryos I had. That way the ones with any genetic problems wouldn't implant the others would. But I never had more than about 8 embryos. This time we did take them to blast so we were only able to transfer the ones that made it to blast (3). I've never gone to blast so hoepfully this works.
Thanks kelly for such a quick reply . Well , yes they did look at my lining before my first IVF . Everything was good. I too did have my HSG done long back . My RE told me about " Implantation Window " . It means the time when the endometrium is receptive so that the embies stick to it . It seems for me " that receptivity time " is late . They understoood this cause B3 integrin was not present at the time when normally the embies should stick . Whewwwww ...... My infertility treatment is going into too many details now . Why am i not one of those who get pregnant with the first try .I feel bad coz i read women with endometrium issues have lower pregnancy rates . Am i one of them .
Kelly , my fingers crossed for you ..... may this be the last one for you .
Hi Ashley/Kelly,
I did not have any trouble with the lining, and I too, as with Kelly have always been told that lining looks good. DH and I did both have karotyping done (to check for chromosomal abnormallities with the two of us) which came back normal......we did the PGD testing this time, because I wanted to be postiive that the absolute best embies were being used, because I have always had 8 cell embies that have made it to blast...........soooooooooo I certainly feel your pain. It is so hard and emotionally draining. This board really helps. It makes it a little easier knowing that you are not alone. Best of luck and prayers to you both.
thanku so much for all the info you have given me . it seems i am the only one caught in this endometrial biopsy thing . No one in the whole message board seems to know about it . That scares me . But anyway .....
Yes its so much emotionally draining.
I wish you both all the luck . Lots of baby dust ......
