Congratulations!!!!

I can so sympathise...my two were born at 29 weeks and Ross Weighed 2lb 6oz Rebecca was huge at 3lb 11oz.....so Gracie and Heidi are really good weights. I know this sounds weird but enjoy the time they are in SCBU as it gives you a little space to prepare at home for them. My dh and I felt like we lived at the unit but we actually managed one meal out on our own and it was a real treat.....remember once they are home it is pandemonium for the first 6 weeks!!

Have you got enough clothes for them? I found the mothercare range very limited but John Lewis did a great range of really cute outfits in 3-5lb and 5-8lb, I still have their first babygros and those premie nappies in their baby box...and you won't believe how quickly they grow.

My two never took to the breast and I carried on expressing till they were 12 weeks...then I couldn't keep up anymore, so if you are planning on breast get all the help you can now at the unit, but I can recommend the Avent Breast Pump...I hired an electric one to start with...used to scare the cat...but it became a real chore, once you have the hang of the Avent, it is so much faster and convenient.

God...I sound like a right know it all....sorry, just wanted to share some of my best tips!! Congratulations to you both and enjoy the wonder of two beautiful babies...and a huge hug to your little miracles...{{Heidi and Gracie}}

Love
Nicky
Just wanted to thank you all so much for all your replies.
Thankyou for your tips.
I did manage to breast feed them both yesterday, they really are strong little girls.Everything seems to take so long, doing everything twice over.
Im not complaining,BRING IT ON!!!!!!!! we waited for this moment.
Heidi is now in a cot and she weighs 3lb4oz.
Gracie is still in an incubator but she weighs 3lb 8oz.
They are doing great,i find myself staring at them all day.
We are trying to get the nursery together,dh is painting at 10pm at nite.
The hospital are great they supply all their dinky clothes, they told us not to buy premature clothes as they will grow so quick.
Dh and i are grabbing some time together as we also have been apart for 10 weeks as i was in hospital.
Scorry,i have thought of you to,not long now,i bet you havnt been appreciating all that hot weather.I hope it all goes well for you.
Take care everyone.
Best wishes
sammy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
